Smiling, swift service but overall the space is dirty it'd benefit from a thorough cleaning. I know it's difficult to battle the wet and salt of the NE winter season, but some measures should be put in place to guard the general tidiness of the place. I do quite like the community table on the main floor, as well as the upper seating area! read more

I stopped here after riding my motorcycle for close to three hours (back roads from Boston) early Saturday morning. I was welcomed and treated to a Red Eye in a (real) mug in addition to my breakfast sandwich being "plated" on a real plate and delivered to my seat. All with a smile. Well located on Thames and next to a park where you can sit on a bench and sip your coffee. This Starbucks tends to be very busy and people move in and out quickly. It's too busy and crowded to sit down and savor your drink, at least when I go. The new Oleato extra virgin olive oil-based iced coffee drink had oat milk and toffee flavoring and was delicious. The prices are reasonable for what you get. Service was friendly and quick. read more

I avoid Starbucks most of the time, but recently circumstances made this store my only choice for coffee. Service is slow and disorganized. Tables are left uncleared and dirty. They are weirdly unwilling and resentful when customers try to use the bathroom. Counter help generally flaky and and only polite in a corporate, weaponized sort of way. I hate this dump. read more

What a great experience. The coffee etc was standard Starbucks issue. The staff was again nice, energetic and engaged what was different about this one is that they allow the homeless to sit to keep warm. It felt so nice that they care and are willing to manage the behavior of the homeless folks so everyone could remain comfortable. Just one step above the average. Human kindness can be witnessed at this location. read more

It's s pretty good size place upstairs and downstairs seating. I definitely have a addiction to good coffee and this doesn't disappoint. My new favorite flavor is the smoked Butterscotch ! Good lord it's sooooo good!!! There is a great park right next door if you choose to hang out outside on a perfect summers day. I was interested in a coffee blend for home and the staff was very helpful in making sure I'd be happy with my choice. Pretty good The parking in the summer can be tricky so if your visiting the area park wherever your lucky and walk . If your staying in Newport leave your car where your staying and walk . Standard starbucks in prime location right on Thames street. Everyone behind the counter has been really nice and they make a solid cup of coffee. One time I went in there 30 mins before closing and ordered a hot pike and they didn't have any! A Starbuck's right in downtown Newport. It has the usual coffees and highly caloric desserts and nice tables and comfy chairs. What really makes this Buck's unique is the second floor seating. You can sit up there, put your feet up and watch the world. Unfortunately in the summer it is usually so crowded that you can't even get up to the second floor. I have been by the place when the lines literally stretch out the doors. It would be nice if they could expand but there really isn't any place to go. A exceptionally nice Starbuck's but only if you go during quieter times. read more

What can you say, it's a Starbucks, yummy goodness served in a cup! I really enjoy coming to this particular location because it has a second floor with lots of comfy seats. Perfect for relaxing by yourself, chatting with friends, or people watching from above. The staff is generally nice, not super friendly but nice. One night I came with some friends and we were enjoying our drinks and some young teens were yelling at each other from downstairs to upstairs, the barista was quick to get after them, so unsupervised children don't seem to be too welcome. Also bathrooms are a bit icky most of the times. Visit this location when you're out on the town and need a break :) read more

Starbucks never fails. Their frappucinos are always delicious. This place had charm too. I love that they meshed with the surroundings. Wood flooring, wood everywhere, a second floor loft for more people to sit in, large windows. I loved this location. It was cozy and conveniently located right in the middle of it all. The opening times are wrong on the app. The store opens 30 minutes LATER than what the app says, so when you spend your money on an order before the store opens because the time is wrong on the app, you have to wait until they unlock the doors. The store needs to change their opening times in the app & so far it hasn't. They basically stole my money this morning. read more

Love this Starbucks.. it's so nice and open, well lit. It's changed a lot over the years. I wish they kept the comfy seating instead of replacing it with ass numbing wooden chairs. If you have to use the rest room... hold it.... for dear life hold it. Its the only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars. I rather use the bushes outside. At the end of the night after having my coffee at this Starbucks, I used the restroom before leaving. When I come out I was confronted by a young woman, who started yelling at me about the restroom being clearly unavailable. I told her I really needed to go to the bathroom and that I was an older woman that she should be respectful towards me and not be yelling at me and making an issue of me using the restroom. She ran ahead of me locked the door and held the door shut so I couldn't get out and proceeded to tell me that, even though I was an older person that I couldn't teach her anything and that it wasn't her problem if I needed to use the restroom. Mind you this woman appeared to be in charge of this store. After finally getting out of there, she proceeded to yell out the door like a crazy maniac. I should have reported this woman to the police because she locked me in the store and that's criminal. read more

I go here daily for my crack addiction - well, cracchiato. I know everyone's names and they know mine, we talk beyond the superficial you're-just-a-number-to-me talk that you get at so many other places these days. It's got a homey feeling that I like in a coffee house. Parking sucks in winter and is impossible in summer. It is super busy all the time and just plain ridiculous in the high months. Alright this starbucks is officially the worst starbucks I've ever stepped foot into. Now, here is a little info about me. I worked at a starbucks before, so I know exactly how the operate. Now let me explain why this one is horrid. 1) They do not properly clean their coffee urns. How do I know this? You can taste the rancid coffee when you get an average cup of joe. Disgusting. It is a company standard for them to wash their urns, they do a daily rotation. There is NO reason for their coffee to taste rancid unless they don't wash their urns. 2) They do not keep track of how long their coffee stays on the counter. All Starbucks are supposed to have Egg timers so that you know exactly how long their coffee has been sitting there, so there is no question at all if the product is fresh or not. 3) This location seems to have no concept of Food Safety. The other day I went in and ordered a Earl Gray Latte with soy. I'm allergic to milk, so needless to say it's not me being picky it's because I'm allergic to it, and I can get sick. When she was making my drink, she was drinking her own beverage quite a big health code violation. If she's doing that in front of me, what else is going on in the store? It's one thing to go in the back room and have a sip, it's another thing to sit there tilting your head back with your beverage in your mouth while you're making someone else drink. Anyway, I informed her that I asked for a latte with soy milk, she gave me an attitude, and then steamed soy milk in the same pitcher which she just had milk in. -- SHE DID NOT RINSE IT OUT--. That means not only was she mixing a hot product with a cold product ( Again time, and temperature mumble jumbo you learn during food safety courses ), but she mixed two products together ( one that I'm allergic to), with absolutely no consideration to the fact she could possibly kill me. --- Now, I'm not that allergic to milk, but there are some people who are highly allergic to either soy or milk, so I find her lack of education in the matter scary. I know when I worked at starbucks, I was taught better than that. .... . .. I guess the location is nice, but why risk getting sick? I'd rather go to another coffee shop. read more
