I love this location because like I mentioned about Raleys it always seems empty. Since I use the app it's even faster and I always get my dog the complementary pup cup, he just loves it. The workers are always friendly and I'm one of those who believes in tipping and 20 to 25%. I guess when you've done service working the past you know that the tip is a major part of your earnings. Stood in line for 5 minutes waiting for my order to be taken inside which is normal, but when I ordered he got it wrong and I asked him to fix it and he did but looked visibly annoyed that I wanted the drink I was trying to order. I've come here multiple times before the remodel with no issue but after, every time I go they make my drink wrong and have to re make it. Sometimes twice. Also they scam you on the add-ons and barely add anything when you order them. Sure the remodel looks good. But I think all would agree that the quality of your product is more important than the quality of your location. read more

Updating my review for spring/summer. This is my favorite Starbucks location. They are the most friendly and most accurate of all the Starbucks I have visited throughout the Reno Sparks area. The store is always clean inside and out. The Baristas greet you with cheerfulness and almost a song in their voice when they take your order. It's so refreshing to interact with someone who obviously likes their job and is helpful in meeting customer service needs. Updating my rating. Totally disgusted that it's not even mid October and Starbucks has sold out for the rest of the season of their pumpkin scones. This location is literally next door to where I work so I visit often, haha. Sometimes I work at 6:30am, sometimes I work at 7:45am. Either way, the baristas in the drive thru are helpful and friendly! I believe they recognize me too, haha. Anytime I order a food item, they will ask if I would like it warmed up. I also know that my coworkers are treated well when they go too. Our drinks are made to order. Depending on what time you go, the drive thru can get pretty busy. I personally have not had a problem, but I have driven by and seen a long line before. It definitely depends on day and hour. The Medicine Ball is a wonderful beverage! Made of hot tea, lemonade (steamed) and other healthy items, it helps when you are sick! Not a cure, of course, but it will ease your symptoms so you can temporarily function for work. One last thing about this location, there is plenty of space to sit with friends or conduct a coffee meeting with peers! Nice little patio in good weather and large sitting room inside! Wow. I see why I'm not a huge Starbucks fan Our office closed today due to a random electrical fluke. So one of the other girls and I went out for some coffee before heading home. This location has a nice small patio with umbrellas for shade. It seemed quite clean inside and the have done some remodeling since I was in last. More shelves for more products. But the gal taking the orders this morning lacked personality and any social skills- I never got a good morning or what can I get you? She just stared at me until I ordered. Awkward. She did then ask for my name to write on the cup and that was it. We picked up the drinks at the end of the counter and don't remember hearing a thank you then either. I realize this could be quite the busy location but really, a smile, hi and thanks isn't too much to expect is it ? They are consistent on the taste of their drinks, I will give them that. read more

Time to update past review. The service had definitely improved! Being on the way home every day, I pass by and have been swinging in for a quick drink. Much quicker than the past 3 months!! The afternoon barista's are getting better. The large selection of holiday beverages keep me wanting to go back and try new things. Make sure you ask for it to be extra hot if you want to feel some warmth going down your throat. The new gingerbread latte has just the right amount of ginger and cinnamon. They have no problems giving your pup a cup of whipped cream "pupachino". Just ask when you get to the drive up. read more

I came here on a Sunday when there was hardly anyone in line. As I got there, an employee was kind of rude on the line. Then, I asked if they had cream cheese, and she said no. I looked online, and it clearly stated that it was available. I believe her name was rosslyn or something like that. If I see her working, then I will not go there. I am ashamed to admit how often I frequent Starbucks but let's just say I can confidently state that this was the worst Starbucks experience yet. Any business is prone to mistakes/incorrect orders, miscommunication, mishaps and bad attitudes but boy did we hit the jackpot with this location! Staff was standing around gossiping when we arrived (yes, I could hear that it was just gossip). There was one person ordering and two cars in the drive thru when we arrived. We were picking up after using the mobile app and our order was nowhere near ready when we arrived. That's ok, been there and have done and have seen all of that. What irked me more was not only how long we had to wait after our "estimated time" (yes, I know what estimates are) but instead how everything started coming out with lengthy waits between each item? People who were showing up well after we did were receiving their items also spaced out and staggered, within their order and ours. Our grande coffee came out second to last and only about 2/3 full even though we politely asked for "no room for cream". When we finally got our last food item (4 of 4) we grabbed our stuff and rushed into the car, as we were now late to get where we needed to be. First bite into that last food item we were handed and it was luke-warm and not to mention thrown together like a burger at a fast food joint. I thought these things were already constructed and just needed to be reheated? At any rate, when pulling the thing apart to place it nicely together that's when we confirmed that it wasn't hot (so obviously it had just been sitting there). Yes, we kindly/gently asked if they could check if our sandwich was in the drive through line, about half way into our stay. Hope they can get their act together. I could hear the conversations going on around me, all negative complaints about their experience there. read more

the workers here are so unprofessional and un-accommodating. I had just ordered a drink and totally forgot about the BOGO Thursday reward. I asked very nicely if it would still work to get my sister who was with me, a drink after I just ordered my own coffee. The worker had an attitude and said of course not as if it was a silly question. After I left to go back to my seat, my sister stayed waiting for her drink, and noticed this employee proceed to talk how stupid it was for me to ask about the BOGO because i ordered "just an americano" and then proceeded to talk badly about me in front of my face. Apparently even if you're a rewards member, some drinks are just too simple to deserve another. Not only was this slightly hurtful but I expect better customer service from a chain business that i frequently give my business too. This is probably for the best, because i can make my modest americanos in the comfort of my home, and if i'm feeling like my palate needs a bit of excitement, I will be taking my business to dutch bros from now on; where the workers do not gossip about their customers (or at least in front of them). Starbucks you have a lot of nerve. So disappointed and embarrassed and will not be coming back. Omg, my experience here made my day, I didn't catch anyone's names unfortunately but I'll share the experience... The experience: I'm not easily touched/moved but this day I was. A nice young gal greets me with a smile from ear to ear and says, "welcome to Starbucks, what can I get started for you?" She might have asked how I was doing but just the warmth in which she greeted me was enough. I order my go to, medicine ball, and ask if they have these bars they used to carry, I wasn't sure what they are called and try to describe them as best as possible but we cannot figure it out. Where we go the extra step is when the young lady asks someone else if they have an idea of what I'm talking about, the other person then askks the manager and she says, "yes the RXbars" she explains the situation. Anyways talking about going extra steps, this manager says but have you tried this bar, it's just about the same thing and just as popular, I still wasn't sold so she says, "here, because of the confusion I want you to try and make up for not having the other bars." I was blown away at this point, not because of a free bar, I was going to buy it anyways but because not at one point was I ever told no in this transaction. However, today I ordered a drink with sugar free syrup for a friend and the employees disregarded the sticker on the drink and just made it normal with regular sugar syrup. Usually this wouldn't be a problem but for a diabetic it's a catastrophe. People's preferences, allergies etc., absolutely need to be taken seriously. Starbucks was usually a place I could trust in regards to these situations. Super super bummed that a day was ruined because of employees rushing and being somewhat ignorant and impatient. Went in for a coffee and breakfast this morning and meeting a client for some paperwork exchange. After ordering I was the only customer in the store (with my mask on) and I was told that all the tables are closed......ok so I went outside. Odd I could eat my food or anything. I am not a big Starbucks fan, but when a friend suggested a meeting at Starbucks, I agreed. The location is perfect for all the business people in the area. It is located on the corner of lakeside and McCarran in a business park. The store is fairly good size with a couple tables to sit at outside if you wish. There is almost two separate sections to this store, the front where you order and a back room where there are several tables and chairs. Business meetings and computers were going on all over. I will have to say there free Wi-Fi is really good. The coffee is OK, it did not taste burnt, I asked for my latte at 140 degrees, and it was served to me correctly. If you are looking for a place to do business or have a meeting, this place will fit the bill. read more

As I write this review I'm starting to get concerned about the amount of these stores I patronize locally. Maybe I should cut back a little (and perhaps the caffeine is why I am writing this at 11:45PM?). FIrst off, these guys are quicker than many of the other SBUXs in town. I love it. Secondly, they have a drive through which is a big plus. It's great if you work in that center because you can pop off to your office. However, if you are trying to get back on S. McCarran you need to make a tight u-turn to pull it off (or drive up to Lakeside). One thing I'd like to mention. There are several businesses over here and people conduct a lot of business at this SBUX. It's not a place i would go to talk about confidential matters but you'll hear it all the time. The seating area in the back is somewhat 'detached' from the front of the store so any conversations you have back there are louder. Just a note. read more

The drive-thru line at this location is ALWAYS long, but because I expect it at this location and know to give myself the extra 10-12 minutes that part is irrelevant at this point. After waiting a decent amount of time just to get to order a female in an annoyed tone says "what can I get you?" Now it may be petty of me, but at every other Starbucks they usually say "welcome to Starbucks what can I get you?" Or "how are you? What can I get you?".. I felt very rushed to give my order & I barely had time to finish ordering my last drink when a total was being given.. I apologized and asked her if I could change the size on the last one and she recited the total. I verified that she heard my size change and apologized again and once again a very annoyed "yes" thru the mic and that was it. I get up to the window and a girl with a matching voice and name tag that said "Cassie" is at the window.. once again no customer service, no nothing. Recites my total, scans my phone and closes the window without a word being said. I wanted to use a reward (which had she not just scanned and closed the window I would've had the chance to tell her the first time). She opens the window, hands me a drink to which I explain I wanted to use a reward and she says she needs to rescan my phone. Hands me the other 2 drinks and closes the window again.. still with no words exchanged. I didn't even get the chance to tell her one of our drinks was the wrong size and I was so disappointed and frustrated it never got fixed. I get that it can get busy and hectic, but this is the only location I chronically have customer service issues with, BUT this experience was worse than normal. If this location wasn't a block away and most convenient with having a newborn I wouldn't even go to this one. And as a matter of fact.. I feel that after this experience I'll be going back to other coffee shops that appreciate their loyal customers. Unfortunately, I know this review and experience won't be address, but maybe by reading it you can save yourself the long wait (inside and drive they) and the snobby experience. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would, first of all we spend 40-70$ a week at THIS SPECIFIC location, so we know what we get. This particular morning the coffee tasted burnt, or bitter. It had a horrrible after taste that me nor my girlfriend could stomach. I went back the first time and the girl was happy to replace it (not without some attitude though) then the 2nd coffee tasted even worse, and when I went back a 3rd time this EXTREMELY RUDE female tried to explain to me that we didn't get syrup in it so it tasted bitter, but we get the same thing every morning so I know what their black coffee tastes like. So I simply asked for a vanilla cream nitro brew, then I look up and every single employee is rolling their eyes and giving me dirty looks. Then said employee that helped me the third time slammed the wrong coffee down again, I asked if I could get the vanilla cream with the nitro brew, and in front of me she poured half of the coffee out and poured 2% in, then proceeded to keep giving me this horrible attitude in front of my 2 year old daughter. Needless to say I nor any of my family will ever come back to this location. The customer service was just appalling, I've never been treated so poorly just because I wanted a new coffee... read more

I went to the McCarran drive-through Starbucks on a Pumpkin Spice Latte mission the other day. Having recently moved to Reno I found it a bit hard to find. I had to double back and circle around a bit. I know that's my own problem tho. Hopefully I'll figure Reno out eventually. This Starbucks is located in a business park and seems like a pretty business-y Starbucks. It's super-nice from the outside which is the only part I saw. A nice, new, modern building. Drive through a little confusing too, but hopefully I'll figure it out soon. Once I got to the drive through the guy who helped me was super-nice. I got a Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte as it was a cold Fall day. I love Starbucks as a general rule. Knowing Reno had a bunch of Starbucks reassured me that I would be okay living in Reno. This was not my favorite location as it was sort of far away and hard to get into, but it was a good Starbucks experience overall. When I got to the drive-through window the sweet tattoo-ed hipster handed me my drink. Nice hipsters instead of snotty ones are such a new concept after Los Angeles. This nice hipster neglected to give me a straw. That would have been nice, but wasn't that big of a deal. My Pumpkin Spice Latte was delicious as usual. I loved it. I gave grandma a little drink of it when I got home and she liked it too. I'll probably check out the other drive-through Starbucks in Reno before coming back to this one but it's nice to know it's there. Love that pumpkin spice! read more

Just got coffee and met the loveliest young woman. Cassie in the drive-thru was a breath of fresh air. She was friendly, mentioned that I had enough points for a free coffee and commented on how good my order looked as she handed it to me. She made eye contact and was very engaged. Mind you, she had already charged me (thru app) but offered to reverse it to let me use points instead. So nice!! This is my regular location, but Cassie is definitely a few steps above the norm. I called the store too and can only hope this review or my call reach the store manager at the least. I will actually look forward to seeing her again. read more

Starbucks does a few things right. Where this location is concerned: The company identified the best location available on a busy thoroughfare (S. McCarran), then made a very well designed drive-thru that is pleasantly landscaped. In addition to all this, Starbucks has a pretty and pleasant outdoor seating area that you can see when approaching the drive-thru. From your car, it's the equivalent of looking at a nice painting of a picturesque Seaside landscape. You aren't exactly going there, but you can imagine yourself being there, and it takes you to a happy place in your head. Bearing these things in mind, more often than I care to admit, this Starbucks beckons and I respond by driving through and giving them my $3-$4. That's what I call good marketing. My nonfat Chai Tea latte was perfection. It was cinnamony, with a generous dollop of clove, nutmeg and the other pumpkin pie spices that make it such a good treat. I love that the barista adds the splendas for me so that I don't end up wearing it on myself. I also appreciate the relative speed with which this drive-thru moves customers along. Another plus for this Starbucks, they actually fill your drink right to the top of the cup (no cheating you out of that last 1/2 inch you paid through the nose for). Therefore, if you yank your drink towards yourself (as I did), you'll be wearing a nice splash of whatever jumps out at you through the little drinking-hole in the lid. read more

I've been coming to this Starbucks for about a month now, simply because I moved in down the street. My old favorite was the busiest in the district (and I've had an on-again off-again relationship as an employee in my past - NOT currently an employee and likely never will be again. My past experience was at a nightmare of a store... eek), so I must admit: I have high expectations when it comes to my 'Bucks. Regardless of whether I choose the drive through or going into the cafe itself, I have always experienced smiles, cheery dispositions, and yummy beverages. The very first time I went through the drive through, I didn't have cash on me, and my phone wouldn't connect to the darn cell phone network. I couldn't connect to my Starbucks application, and thusly could not pay for my drink. He simply have me my drink and sent me on my way, and when I tried to pay the next time, he refused. I realize some might think this is common practice, but I've also had the experience where you just leave the drive through empty handed. Lastly, they have a good sense of humor. Sure, I've had a messed up drink once or twice, but it's their ability to handle it with grace and still be fun/funny during the recovery of a mess up that makes them stand out. read more

This is one of my favorite Starbucks in Reno. I like Starbucks because of the consistency. I work from home and head out for coffee at least once a day so I can have a break for about an hour. If I am going for a great coffee experience, this won't be the place. If I am going somewhere in order to check email, have a clean place to work, know that the internet connection is up and working, I'll come here. Starbucks is amazingly average but is always average.
