Stop 4! The Starbucks Sakura merchandise saga continues. This is the next closest location on our adventure. Located on the corner of Convoy and Kearny Mesa Rd. This was a larger store on the main street, I didn't hold out much hope. We arrived at this location at 7:03 pm. We walk in and the merchandise racks are right in the middle of the store. Mixed together we saw some Sakura items and Matcha items. They had the tall metal cold cup (bought at the previous location) and that was pretty much it. I liked the sparkly white 12 oz. container and decided to get that one. As we made our way to the checkout counter, I suddenly noticed that there were a few short pink hot go cups! Sweet!!! My two friends and I stopped by for morning coffee. I ordered the eggnog latte but had forgotten to reduce the sugar level so it was incredibly sweet. After taking a few sips, I had them adjust it for me. The barista added a shot of espresso and it was perfect. This Starbucks location is very spacious and clean. This is as good as any Starbucks I've visited; friendly staff, accurately provided my order of good tasting coffee and food. The space including the restroom (men's at least ) is clean in general. That said, this location is cavernous! But has no comfy seats; they've been banished since Covid (seemingly) and apparently never to return. There is lots of out door seating as well. Overall they are underutilized the space in favor of tables big and small. Seems like a big waste but it's not my cafe. read more

This Starbucks is our usual stop after eating at Convoy street restaurants. When my Son treats his Friends to dinner, this is where they go to hang out more and have their drinks. This location is very Spacious both Indoors and Outdoors. This is where I mostly use up my Star Reward points. I used my Star points here for my Son and his friends until they said they had enough Starbucks for the day, no limit at all :) . I have 9,488 Star Reward points that I accumulated fast. I even use my Star rewards points a lot, it just always gets higher back quick in a few weeks 'coz I'm at Starbucks 3 to 4 times a day purchasing and enjoying their drinks ;) Starbucks reward points are earned if you have a starbucks app on your phone and scan it everytime you purchase something from Starbucks, of course you need to load some Funds on your Starbucks app for purchases first. The more you use your Starbucks App for purchases the more you earn Starbucks rewards, and these Star rewards can be used by redeeming free drinks, snacks, or cups/tumblers. But pay attention to not forget to use your Stars 'coz they do expire. The Staff here are nice and they have a lot of staff that works here since they also have a Drive Thru . The staff is extremely rude, judgmental, young and immature. I went through the drive through today and the barista at the window was basically yelling in a high pitch tone and everyone behind her was talking negative about their customers. One girl expressed "I'm going to start talking to them like I am their mom" and went on and on in a mocking tone. The girl at the window noticed I could hear them and she closed the window. Located on Convoy St. near Ostrow St./Kearny Mesa Rd. We used their drive-thru to order a Caffe Latte. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. My coffee tasted so good, probably the best any Starbucks location has made my Caffé Latte drink. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the service here. read more

Extremely Rude Service -- Totally Unacceptable I had a really negative experience at this Starbucks today. When I asked for a simple coffee refill, an employee took my cup from me with her dirty hands. Earlier, when I asked if my coffee was ready, she responded with "What?" with an ugly face, and then a long "ohhh yeah" -- completely dismissive and rude. I'm so frustrated that something as simple as getting a hot cup of coffee turned into a stressful interaction. I wasn't asking for milk, sugar, or anything complicated -- just a plain coffee -- but she made it feel like I was asking for a Thanksgiving dinner. I ended up leaving my cup and walking out because the attitude was unbearable. How hard is it to serve a customer politely? Normally have really good service here and all the workers are friendly. However I found pebble rocks in my cheddar and chive potato bites. Luckily I take smaller bites but ended up crunching on the pebbles The worker did inform me that they had to remake the food bc they dropped it. So I assumed it was a new batch. I guess not. For the last 7 years whenever I am on the news for my nonprofit Traci's Paws, and bring one of my pups with me on-air, I give them a special treat on the way home. I love that there is a drive-thru, and I can order myself a coffee and a pup-cup/Pupaccino for my pup! I have since lost two of my babies, but recently took in my mom's dog Bebe, and she got to join in on the post-news segment tradition. As always, the staff are always so friendly and make a big fuss over the girls, one time a few years ago, someone took a photo of Emee. But Bebe got just as much attention! I like the service; even with a line, it usually moves quickly, and the customer service is always on point. I come here when we're not on the news, too, and will probably continue to come here as long as I am in the area. While I have never been inside, I am sure the atmosphere is just a great as the customer service! read more

This store stole my money when I tried to ask for a refund on 6/15/2025 at 8:00pm. I ordered ahead and when I got there the door was locked. I got a look from the 2 baristas, one black girl one white girl. They gestured to go around to drive thru. I was on dinner break from work and there was a long line. At this point I wanted a refund but they refused to answer the door. I asked them if I could talk to them and possibly try to get my money back, they wouldn't. Then they ignored me. This generation is crazy, no customer service skills whatsoever. Embarrassing service, owners and managers should know. I left without my coffee and lost my money. This Starbucks is really nice. Every time I order, the service is quick. When I order in advance with the app, my pickup is super easy. I love that I can earn points for future rewards and I love the ease of ordering online to avoid mix ups or confusion with my customizations. This location always hands off my drinks made extremely well. As a former Starbucks employee, I know how difficult the job is and I appreciate the hard work the employees at this location put out. I want to add, a lot of the negative reviews for this location are from people taking issue with Starbucks itself, not this location. And although I can understand frustration with large companies, it is not fair to review the store and employees based on issues you have with the company as a whole. Side note: I have been here before where the store was randomly closed in the middle of the day despite store hours indicating they should be open. Mild inconvenience but realistically, there's always another Starbucks nearby. So not a big deal! read more

My son and I have Starbuck Wednesdays. We usually come to this location depending on how full the parking lot is. I'll park and order from the app as we both have accounts. I think the employees have come to know and expect us, especially my son. One day we walked in to pick up and the girl behind the counter said, are you guys Connor? He loved that! They always have our orders ready in a timely manner and are always so nice to us. I have come here for coffee dates with my Mom and Sister as well. We always a nice experience. I've been soooo waiting to check out this Starbucks!! I could not believe they took over an entire old Burger King location. I mean, this BK location was huge! So what the heck could Starbucks possibly do with space. Parking is ample and I had no issue finding a space right up front. They're located across from Carls Jr and 76 gas station. Interior is so open, wide, and spacious. Two cashier stands but only one barista taking order when I walked in. Nice guy. I wanted a decaf iced coffee which Starbucks doesn't offer until you order an iced Americano or something. And I think most locations stop making decaf drip coffee after like 12p. So they offered to make me a pour over for the same price $1.95. It took some time but no biggie as I could see it being made right in front of me. Coffee was a bit strong and bitter though. No issue finding an open table to drink at or use my laptop. Wifi is pretty good too! There is one transient here in the corner. He's speaking loudly to himself and doesn't seem to be bothering anyone - BUT, most patrons are sitting far far far away from him. So not sure if he's a regular and staff knows that he's ok. Came to check out this new Starbucks location on Convoy. It's been open about two weeks (as of June 24th, 2017) according to Benny one of the employees here. This Starbucks occupies the Burger King that used to be here. You can't help but notice that this place is very spacious and clean. They only used half or less of the kitchen space Burger King used and could comfortably fit a handful more of tables and still have room. Service was good. My first time here, Benny was super friendly and personable. I ordered a Grande Iced Caramel Macchiato and a croissant that they warmed up for me. Everything came out super quick (they are adequately staffed) and was good. Since then I'm here frequently and they remember my name. Cool trick! As usual, they offer free WiFi which is great for students, people doing work projects, Yelpers, etc. I looked around noticed that they have power outlets along the wall and beneath the community table. Didn't see any near the glass windows wall, so you might have to bring your portable battery for your cell if you plan on doing work here. This is one of those great new large Starbucks that have been popping up in and around San Diego that provide a lot more leg room. With its spaciousness and drive thru, not to mention its friendly staff and such, this new Starbucks will probably be a local favorite for years to come. I had a multigrain bagel with butter only and a iced grande cafe latte. The bagel came with a good light brown toast and I am always a fan of the natural Kerry Gold Butter that they offer. The Cafe Latte was good, not as strong as I would of liked, but nevertheless tasty and smooth. This Starbucks's not only offers a drive thru, but a lot of inside space ready for study teams, meetings, and just to hang out and relax during the hot days of summer. One of my favorite Starbucks locations in San Diego. It has a beautiful outdoor patio. Bring your pups. A drive-thru that tends to be speedy. Staff that are overall cordial and do a good job keeping the place tidy. And a nice mix of lounge, group and pair seating in a space that is well constituted. But good luck finding an outlet. This location is perfect for studying and work. And it is common to find people doing both, and having work meetings in the space. But I have only found three tables that appear to have outlet access. Which, of course, is aggravating. That aside. I do frequent this location because of the staff (and they do know how to press espresso!) and the beautiful space. read more

I loveeee this Starbucks. Even when it's crowded they get drinks out super quick. It's also very spacious inside and outside with multiple types of seating arrangements. You can sit at a round table, a tall table, a communal table, regular old square tables and couches. It's probably one of the largest Starbucks I've ever been to and they even have a drive through! It stays open pretty late compared to other Starbucks and opens early so you'll find a lot of students studying here. They make drinks in a glass instead of a plastic cup if you ask, just like on the advertisement pictures, which is great. However, the wifi is very slow, and lighting is low at some tables. Excellent visit to the drive-thru today. Ordered a Caramel Crunch Frappuccino for the first time and also a ham & cheese croissant. Drove up to the window and Alvin was my host. He was super kind and cool. Transaction was easy with my Gold Card on my Starbucks App plus my free reward (croissant). My drink was yummy and prepared well. This might be one of the biggest Starbucks I've been to. They have seats against the wall, one long table in the middle, with about 10 different outlets. The middle space is completely empty, with enough room for you to walk in, order, and wait for your drink without feeling too claustrophobic. There's a couch against the wall across from the counter where you pick up your orders. This place is the perfect blend of a working space and a comfy library for you to leisurely read. It cleverly disguised to a mom and pop coffee shop with its giant minimalistic line art and Pier 1 couches. Big space with ample parking spots and a long table WITH OUTLETS for hardworking students or maybe just computer users. Outlets are all over the walls as well. A variety of seating available. There's also a drive-thru which I find hella convenient. And they got the nitro cold brew yumm. Would recommend. Pretty big Starbucks location. It's geared more towards a study/work location. There's lots of tables inside. I was really excited when I heard they were opening a new location on Convoy. They have a drive-thru! I stopped by a few weeks ago with my co-worker. We got the cherry mocha for the Valentine's Day special. It's tasted sour and awful, like breast milk. Nasty. Updated review: 3/13/20. I don't know what's been happening lately but this Starbucks location has been horrible lately. Much longer wait than usual. I sat at the window for several minutes because the guy at the window was spaced out & forgot to hand me the rest of my order, which had been sitting on the counter. This is the second time in a row that the wait has been longer for really no reason and both times the same guy was at the window. I really hope this location gets it together. It was my favorite Starbucks. This is a relatively new Starbucks so I was a little apprehensive. My usual location had an extremely long line on an early Sunday morning and it was moving at a snails pace. Since I had to be at work I couldn't wait and decided to take a risk. It paid off! There were 2 cars ahead of me and I didn't even have enough time to pull up my Starbucks app before I was already at the window. I was greeted warmly and handed my coffee and breakfast sandwich. Went through the drive through this morning to grab a quick drink. The lady was very sweet from ordering to paying at the window and receiving the drink. I ordered the strawberry acai which is my favorite!! Super refreshing. Also this location seems to look bigger than others, which makes it a good study spot!
