Not really a fan of this Starbucks POST-remodel! Used to be my go to Starbucks until I started going to their neighboring location. This location went from having seating for around 15 people, to having no seating and somehow being MORE crowded instead of less crowded. There is negative room in the store regardless of removing the seating, I've encountered the store being closed too because of the remodeling. The 2 star is merely due to whoever gave this location the okay to remodel. And it sucks because this location has one of the better staff members compared to the ones they offer nearby. I swear this location was a 5 star prior to the remodel :(, but if you do ever decide to go here, look for Janessa, she's the best barista they have there. read more

In the distance, I could see Starbucks. Since I like their tomato mozzarella panini sandwich and iced skinny cinnamon dolce latte, I decided to stop in for a late lunch to go. This Starbucks is a small one compared to the one on Blanding in Alameda. Indoor seating capacity is probably about 12 people. I did not see any restroom facility. There are a few tables and chair outside of the premises. Two baristas behind the counter and one female employee dealing with the waste receptacle. Service is pleasant and quick. I did not have to wait long (about 5 minutes) for a warmed panini and my favorite beverage, a tall iced skinny cinnamon dolce latte. Currently trending for Starbucks is the blonde expresso. I will have to find out what it consists of before deciding to order one. read more

Flavor of specialty coffees are hit or miss depending on who the barista is that makes your drink. For instance I ordered a toasted white mocha and twice it tasted like milk. The other times it was packed of flavor and very delightful. It's busy at this location so I prefer to order on the app to expedite my wait time so I'm not late for work. Made 2 drinks wrong, went back to ask about the first but was told it was correct. When deliving drink it was in fact wrong. Second drink was only filled to a grande size. Very busy Starbucks as the other! Always lines in front of the cashiers. The drinks are below average. The wait time was longer than most of the Starbucks! I have ordered two large mocha frappes and a hot mocha on the first order. Both the mocha frappes and the hot mocha tasted like sweet milk waters! It was way below the average Starbucks quality! My second order an hour later with another mocha took longer than half hour. They printed the label and forgot the drink until we asked. No apologizes received by their mistakes! The closest Starbucks from my home. I have been here easily over 100 times, and that is no joke. I enjoy the great customer service. The restrooms are outside of the store, but right on the side, so it is not bad. I have had many important and memorials meetings here, and used it has my mini office countless times and the staff is totally cool with it. Parking can be a bit of a pain on busy hours, but it is a small price to pay for quality coffee and customer service. read more

As I always say, when I go to a chain anything I don't review on the food/drinks necessarily because it's all the same. I came to this Starbucks after a walk at the Marina and ordered my usual, a tall soy Chai, no water, no foam (you know they're used to complicated orders lol). I watched the guy add water to my drink and I said, "oh, is that the soy chai? I asked for no water" and he asked my name and said, "oh, they forgot the soy". That's fine, he made It soy and when I got my foam filled drink **insert side eye emoji** It DEFINITELY said soy, no foam, no water. He just didn't read ANYTHING written on the cup aside from Chai. Mobile-ordered 3 drinks and 3 breakfast sandwiches at 7:45a. Arrived a few minutes later to find a line AROUND the store, and down the sidewalk. After asking around, YES, it's the mobile order pickup line. What??? I finally make it up to the door, only to discover a table PILED high, like a garbage pile, with filled food bags. Another table held at least 50 receipts, laid out, and a few scattered drinks. In addition the countertop we used to get our mobile-orders from, was piled high with stacks of drinks and food bags and boxes. The two boys, one named Hayden (was a great guy, and truly cared)...but the other, who had his name tag covered by an "I Voted" sticker, was moving at the speed of SNAIL, with an "I don't care" attitude, told me HE was the manager, when I asked. I knew he was lying, but he refused to get me the manager. After about 45 minutes, MANY people cutting the line, I get our order. Matt (store manager?)...it has been 8 months now, in pandemic, social distancing mode. The employees here work their buns off, hence the 5 star review. This is by far the busiest Starbucks location I've been to and on top of that, it's a very small location. The wait is always long but drinks are good, employees are friendly (hey customers, if you want your barista to be friendly, YOU NEED TO BE FRIENDLY!) despite so many cranky customers and piss poor attitudes. Note to corporate: turn off the mobile orders for this store. Let the walk in customers have a more positive experience by not waiting for 30 minutes for their $5 coffee. I know going in that I'm in for the long haul, but others run in thinking they will be in and out in 5 minutes and that's just never the case. The line from the register to the door should be a clue that you'll be there for awhile. I find it quite amusing to watch people come in frantically and then get annoyed that it's taking forever. This Starbucks makes for great people watching and to realize how not to act and react in public. Five stars for the baristas who have to deal with all the impatient entitled people. read more

People leaving reviews for this location are acting more cynical and aggressive than they need to. This is a COFFEE SHOP, not a fast food restaurant. Did my drink take longer than 5 minutes to be called out? Yes. Is it because they are busy and working as fast as they can? Yes. The baristas are fun, friendly, and energetic, and are absolutely allowed to hold conversations with themselves while they are working. One barista, though I can't read her nametag from where I'm sitting, is the MOST energetic of the crew today and she's for sure the one keeping the vibe high and fun for this shift. This morning I ordered their featured drink Iced Toasted Vanilla Oatmilk shaken espresso from the app. I chose no ice (as the app has option for me to customize my drink). When I picked up at this location, my drink was made with regular ice and the girl told me because of Iced Shaken, so it comes with ice and she offered to remake with just light ice. The barista remade it with no ice BUT she put extra milk. I'm like "did I tell you to put extra milk". Noooo girl, please make the drink what customers order. Stopped by here on Christmas Day, it was one of the few Starbucks open on the 880. They were out of chocolate and we couldn't order the peppermint mocha, supply. chain humbug. I've been to Starbucks literally around the globe - and this one is the first one i've felt passionately enough about to write a review on yelp. My job changed locations and now this is the only Starbucks option I have within a few mile radius - if there was literally ANYWHERE else to go, I would. I've mobile ordered from here 5 times now. 5. So don't say I didnt try. Every single time its been 20-25 minutes to actually get my drink - literally longer than my commute. 25 minutes. and the few times I ordered a hot sandwich to go with it, my sandwich came out IMMEDIATELY and was back to frozen again by the time I got my drink. And they Absolutely make drinks for people in line faster than mobile order, no question about it. People come after me and leave well before me, when I have receipts showing i ordered FOREVER ago. And, the girls making the drinks are always angry that all of us mobile orderers ask for status! Always rolling their eyes and say "order earlier", as if 25 minutes is acceptable. I ordered here today at 7:32am and after looking at other orders placed after mine and waiting to be picked up, i was getting frustrated and I asked 3 times to see where my items were. The assistant told me that they were busy and I explained to her that my items were not even on the counter when they were clearly ordered before everyone else's and she said that someone probably took them. She was very nonchalant about it. Eventually at 8:15am, my items came which was 43 mins after being placed and caused me to be late for work. Never again will I go here. This Starbucks location is located in the Marina Square Center, located right off I-880. There are several outlet stores in this center, and San Leandro Auto Row is right across the street. This is a prime location for a cafe, as this place is steady during the day, between shoppers and people getting their cars serviced as well as being right off the freeway. Unfortunately, the space for this Starbucks is way too small for the traffic. There are only 3 tables inside with seating for 10, as well as a small bar with 4 tall chairs and 2 outdoor tables. If you want to just grab a drink and go, this isn't a bad place to do so, provided you can find parking, which can be difficult on the weekends with all the shoppers. But if you want to sit down with your laptop and get work done (like I'm doing now), it can be tricky to find a seat to do so. Only a couple of the tables have access to a power outlet, so make sure your electronics are charged. Also make sure that you keep on top of your order. More than one time here has my order been lost. The staff are always apologetic and will make them right away, but it's still a little annoying to deal with that. read more
