This is one of my go to Starbucks locations up in the SLO area. I stop by whenever I am in town. Sometimes parking can be a little iffy out in the lot. Overall, it's a pretty good location and everything is fairly standard and predictable in the best way possible. At this point I almost exclusively mobile order my drinks so they're ready to go when I get in. It is a small location but there are tables available to study. There seems like a lot of students that are there. I always try to get one of the seasonal drinks that they have at the time to see if there's anything unique. Otherwise the macchiatos or the lattes are always a good option to go out. Their sandwiches are good as well and you always get the option whether not you want it as is or they are able to heat it up for you. I go here regularly to buy my morning coffee, and the employees are all very great. Everybody seems to be in a great mood and works very quickly to get everybody's orders out. The bathroom is clean. I will say this is not the best Starbucks to study at because the seating is small tables, but you can still get it done here. read more

Every time I've come here I get the regular common Carmel ribbon crunch, sometimes extra Carmel and the crunch stuff, but everytime I've come here, they didn't add any extras, and it tastes like I'm drinking straight ice. read more

Happy to see this Starbucks with a register at front of entrance. You can actually just walk into the business and order. The associates are pretty cool under all this duress, even with curious customers that are overly questionable. You are still able to order on your app and it's probably more efficient but if your taking a walk and happen to walk by, well just stop in and order, you'll still have to wait outside but its something we have to do till everything calms down. Put in a mobile order for this location - they've got some serious operational issues and a clientele that largely consists of college kids who aren't aware that we're in a global pandemic that's killed more people than 100 9/11's, not that they can remember that either. No distancing, there were about 30 people in this small store. Orders were stacked up. Finally got our order and it was missing sriracha, napkins, etc. Not worth the $18 for feeding two people breakfast. An older woman lost her mind at how packed the store was, even telling me that the usual manager here just transferred to San Diego. Guess they're going through pains getting up to speed with a new manager. Either way, won't be back here! Cheers y'all. read more

I am in shock, I came into this store with the intent of a quick in and out to get my daily coffee. The store was almost entirely empty with one other customer also waiting. There were four baristas that seemed to not have a care in the world about their job, including the store manager. Overall the wait was around 30 minutes for one drink. This Starbucks is a pretty average Starbucks. I've personally never had a really bad experience and I go here often. The quality of the drinks is always good and the baristas are always pleasant. The line can get backed up and there isn't a lot of table space or outlets available. Ordering ahead is probably your safest bet if in a rush. During the school year, not the most ideal place to study. In the morning just allot an extra 10-15 minutes to have to wait for your drink and you should be fine. I love the long hours though. So many coffee shops close early and I know I can get my fix late into the night (or at least 10 pm) at this location read more

It is such a ridiculously busy Starbucks. The closest to campus, of course, it will have students as staff. There is a staffing shortage everywhere, sometimes you get what you get. I wouldn't say I like reviews from out of town when you have no idea how it is day to day. Starbucks is my regular morning coffee in San Luis Obispo. Their staff are friendly and try their best. I love the manager with the bright blonde hair. She has been so kind and attentive every time I come in. She treats her staff with respect even when they make a mistake which can happen. That being said don't bother putting special instructions when ordering via the mobile app. Several times I've requested no whip cream on my drinks and the label on my drink will state "No Whip" yet, there it is. Been coming here for 7 years, but recently service has gone downhill. Some baristas are great at their job and some are really not, and clearly don't care. I tend to go in the early afternoon and I see the same people a lot. My issue is that they get my iced green tea latte wrong about 70% of the time by not shaking/stirring it. I know this drink gets a lot of hate iced, but I don't see how it is any more time consuming than other shaken teas. We all have jobs, and we all have parts of the job that we don't like, but you have to do them. Grean tea lattes are supposed to be shaken to break up the tea that will form a huge ball in the bottom. When I have ordered it shaken, I have gotten some eyerolls, and I generally try to people please, so I generally take the drink home and shake it in my shaker to fix it when I can. read more

I think this is the best starbucks I've been to! The staff were all very friendly and they made a delicious caramel macchiato for me! It's also not too busy or loud for studying/conversation. There's also plenty of parking. Highly recommend this one versus the Cal Poly starbucks locations. read more

This is the worst sbux in slo county. Every time I come here they get my order wrong. I just waited very long for a bagel and a drink because they made my drink wrong and forgot to put in my bagel. The staff is super nice and friendly which makes me feel bad leaving an unsavory review but I used to work at Starbucks for 5+ years, and in several locations across the country--this Starbucks is the most inefficient Starbucks I've seen yet. As I said, normally I wold give my baristas the benefit of a doubt, but they weren't even busy, they were chatting it up, and were not paying attention to one another--which is why they got my order wrong. I work at a Starbucks in Downtown Los Angeles, pretty busy, but my partners are super friendly and we've never had complaints about our attitudes during a shift. I went to this Starbucks yesterday and today. The girl who worked yesterday was super friendly and we had no problem with our drinks. Today, the two girls were rude, especially the barista on register. The girl who made my drink was pretty annoyed because I saw that she had made many frappuccinos before ours. Mine was not even made correctly and it was a simple caramel flavor. I'm not going to be a customer who says I will never go to this Starbucks again when I'm visiting but this staff needs an attitude adjustment. read more

I had a friend in high school that used to frequent this Starbucks consistently just to view the slew of EMTs and firefighters that frequent this joint due to the uber-close proximity of Sierra Vista hospital and the local fire department. Perhaps she had a secret plan to choke on her bagel and cream cheese, hoping one of these local beef-cakes would rescue her by performing the heimlich maneuver or mouth-to-mouth... This Starbucks is my mecca... I return time after time whenever I come home for a quick trip or vacation to SLO. Going into to Starbucks today was probably the worst decision I have ever made not only was the employee super rude after I waited 25 mins after ordering in store for my 2 drinks and sandwich's the whole store was told to wait outside at this point we had 1 drink and both sandwiches. I Did not have a good experience in here. I won't be back. The cashier was very distracted and not paying any attention to my drink order. I wanted to try a new holiday drink called salted caramel latte. I got my drink went outside, I took my first sip and I had to spit it out in their bushes. Well this is my new go-to Starbucks. It's close to my house, the staff is super friendly and sweet to me, and it's improved from a month ago. I think if you've been a Starbucks-goer long enough, you know by now that building a rapport with a barista (or two) can be very rewarding. You get that little bit of extra attention that just gives you a sense of...belonging there. Here's the thing with this Starbucks: the tables are plentiful but they are all round and small! Though close to campus, it's intentionally not as welcoming to students (because we all know how students buy one thing and stay for hours studying). And I don't mean they are cold to students. Definitely not! Many of the baristas are students themselves there! I'm saying the tables aren't very conducive for laying out your books and laptop simultaneously. They are tiny and round. There are a few electrical outlets present. I like that the restrooms are well-kept and clean too! So here's the layout: 10 tables. Three of them are short and round, one is rectangular (but handicap designated). Between these four tables there are three electrical outlets (one hidden). The other tables are tall and circular (think barstool-seat, tall). One of those tables is by an electrical outlet, the rest are not. This Starbucks has great hours! After leaving Los Angeles, CA at 5am and driving 3 & 1/2 hours to San Luis Obispo for a 9 am meeting I was in much need of some coffee. I saw this Starbucks and decided I need to get some JAVA FAST & PRONTO... I found parking even with all the cars coming & going that early in the morning and walked inside. Indeed there was a line to order from the cashier, but it did move along quickly. Once I ordered my Caramel Macchiato, it only took about 2 mins to receive my much needed coffee. I can saw that the Cashier was very nice and efficient as well as the Baristas who made my concoction of a coffee. They flowed everyone through so everyone was happy and getting on their way, myself included. Will return to this Starbucks if ever I have to be back in SLO. read more
