I usually like Starbucks because I know what to expect: clean, efficient, good WiFi, and all the usual "Starbucky things". Thoughts of the coffee vary from "I love it" to "I hate it, they burn the beans". Well, I've grown fond of that "dark roast" flavor. My teenager & I stood in line for minutes with no recognition & then got dirty looks from the Barista taking our order. The absolute worse Starbucks in the galaxy. The workers this morning refused to make eye contact with anyone. They were grumpy and did not communicate anything beyond what was absolutely necessary. Complete indifference to every human that walked into the store. Stoic faces and frustrated body language made everyone feel horrible. And that's not an assumption. Three people in my group alone commented on how "weird" the "joy suck" atmosphere was. The coffee was made well and correctly but I can get well made coffee at many other shops. The attitude and gloom will ensure I never visit that location again. There is a serious lack of leadership and management in that store. An adult mentor is greatly needed. Avoid this place. The staff is very very friendly from the moment you walk in the door. Your order is prompt and correct. I've been to other Starbucks and what you ordered isn't quite right. Some other Starbucks there in too much of a hurry, but not this one. The food is standard across-the-board at all Starbucks coffee shops. Starbucks stores have an ambient standard and some are being upgraded. I like the style and not the new concrete steel look. It has a homey, coffee shop. read more

Terrible customer service. Never been to a Starbucks where the barista was so rude. I just asked for raw sugar and she told me that I should've asked for it when ordering. I was like, well I asked for 7 pumps of vanilla and it doesn't taste like it, that's why I would like some sugar. She got really upset, got a cup, filled it with syrup and slammed it on the counter. It spilled and she turned and walked away. I couldn't believe, I wasn't complaining about it, I just asked for sugar. I would not recommend this Starbucks at this location. I was just in there this morning and the young girl made my drink with 12 pumps of chocolate today and it was horrible and not at all what I ordered. I had to keep questioning her how she made my drink till I found out she used 12 pumps of chocolate. She was a jerk to me and reluctantly remade it and it was still not correct. I had to just leave with a nasty drink I paid for and never got what I asked for. She and her coworker were very rude. Nothing easy about this early Sunday morning. Asked for a Skinny Vanilla latte only ONE pump sugar free vanilla. Husband ordered his drink 3 times for she was struggling to pull his order together. Skinny Vanilla Latte had four pumps and was sweeter than a candy store. I asked lady if there was more than one pump? Yes that is the recipe! But not when I order only one pump. Pissed she had to remake it and slid the new drink over with coffee and foam all over the lid and cup. Wow! I'm so surprised by the exceptional customer service here at this Starbucks. Right as I entered, a worker was outside to greet me and directs me in with covid protocols. Came here yesterday and there was a sudden rush that seemed to follow after me. I ordered the drinks and went to the bathroom to past the time waiting for my drink. I come back and 1 of my two drinks was sitting on the counter. I then noticed about 10 drinks, no exaggeration follow, but still my second drink was no where to be found. I then noticed it just sitting on the bar waiting to be capped. Some guy was just yelling at the workers being a total d-bag! He was going off about how they need to fill the cup all the way up and trying to get one of the girls fired. The workers handled it beautifully. They were courteous up until he threatened one of the workers. They told him if he doesn't calm down they're going to call the cops. He then started bringing things up about lawsuits and stuff (please dude, are you really going to try to sue STARBUCKS?...OVER A DRINK????). Then they forced him to leave. Unfortunately, Friday May 5th when I picked up my mobile order, it was missing the whip, I then asked for it and the barista yelled at me that a caramel macchiato over ice does NOT come with whip cream. She then put whip on and slammed it in front of me, I said thank you, she said nothing. The next day, I did a mobile order again, and got the cinnamon almond milk with whip cream over ice and apparently no one who works there can read. I came here on a Thursday night to study in my spare time. I was hesitant to come here because I thought it'd be filled with cal poly students studying since slo's such a college town. I was really surprised when I got there and there were many open tables and it was really quiet. I don't know if it's usually like this but from my experience, I got a ton of studying done there. The wifi' not slow and there's a ton of outlets everywhere. I usually order a kids hot chocolate so I'm not taking up room without ordering from them. My drink was standard and made fast. The staff was really nice as well. Overall, good place to study when you need to. I expect other hours to be more crowded though. read more

I enjoy writing about places that I find outstanding however I feel that it is fair to let folks know of experiences at places that I find extremely unpleasant. I was on my way to work out and thought I would stop here early in the morning about 7:30am. A girl probably in her early twenties showed up at the same time. Just as I came to the door this girl rushed me and went into the door first not making eye contact, she smiled smugly as if this had been in some kind of contest. I was blown away for the lack of consideration and manners. I was explaining this incident to my brother (we were raised in SLO) and he then told me about an experience he had about the same time of day at this Starbucks. He was walking to the shop in the parking lot not really paying attention to cars when another young woman about in the same age range came roaring into the parking lot, came to a screeching halt and laid on her horn startling the heck out of my brother. Later in line my brother tried to engage her in conversation letting her know that pedestrians have right of way. She ignored him giving him "the hand" while continuing her conversation with her friend. We do not wish to have these kind of early morning experiences again. read more
