This location is usually crazy busy. There are great downtimes to go where you won't have to wait or at least wait a lot less time than usual, but usually it's inconvenient times. While the wait time either in ordering or waiting for drinks/food may be long, the baristas are all kind and welcoming. Waiting is usually worth it because the quality of their food and drinks have always been high. During my most recent visit, this was no exception. Our drinks were delicious! I also ordered ahead and no one was in line so the drinks were ready immediately. Totally a win! read more

The brewed coffees are SO HOT now with the new machines but I like that there aren't occurrences or coffee grounds in my coffee now. I don't think I have really been to a Starbucks I didn't like. They are quick, convenient and have good drinks (at least the caramel macchiatos and americanos I get are always tasty). The staff is always super nice as well and this location was no different. Plenty of seating if you want to sip and chat or even if you are driving through nd need a quick pick me up. They also have a nice variety of snacks to munch on if needed. read more

I recently found some gift cards for Starbucks and grudgingly decided to use them. This location, by far, has the best service I have had at a Starbucks. There hasn't been one time they haven't said hello when I come in, offer help when I'm still deciding, and just at least seem like they actually want you to enjoy your experience at the store. I almost always have a great experience at this location, but haven't been here in a couple months and very thrown off by the interaction that I just had. I asked for a grande, hot coffee with protein cold foam, and she immediately said no, We can't do that. I asked her if she could just leave room in the cup and put the protein cold from on top. She got a little flustered, went and asked some coworkers, to which two of them also said no. Finding it strange that this is a beverage that I am requesting that I am going to drink. I wasn't sure why it couldn't be done. She mentioned that it would curdle on top, which I said that I was fine with and again, She said that she couldn't do it. I asked for a hot coffee and to leave room for cream and a side of the protein cold foam, and did it myself. Every time I come to this Starbucks it is a breath of fresh air. I love every staff member here, everyone is such wonderful individuals. Lauren and Tyler are absolutely amazing people here, they totally made my day today. Dolly is a sweetheart too. She helped comfort me when I was having a really bad morning one day, and she exchanged genuine kind words to help me feel better. To who this may concern: please give these individuals a raise or a huge kudos or bonus: they shine, and are such great people who work so hard. Everyone I meet here is an absolutely gem, they make delicious drinks, go above and beyond, they give excellent customer service; so be sure to show appreciation and give a cash tip. A random fun fact of this location, if you come here enough, you may get to meet or encounter a very positive regular who has a fun hat, and he always says some kind words to many of the workers or people in the lobby. It totally lifts up the day and environment. The workers and even some customers like the regular I mentioned, all have an energetic, positive, pep in their step. It is absolutely delightful. Holiday (Christmas ) featured drinks are out now, Creme Brule is delicious! I got to try it with sugar cookie and it was very yummy! However drinks are always tasty and fantastic all year round. (One of the restrooms are closed off but I still see some people sneak behind the closed tape sometimes). I do not recommend this, nor have I done it, to be respectful to the workers here. If it is an absolute must, I would recommend getting permission from a worker here if you use the closed off restroom. They have a drive through. For those who still play Pokémon Go there are 3 "gyms" and 2 "Pokéstops" which results a cluster of spawned Pokémon here. This location is located in "Grand Plaza", in San Marcos, which you can look up in Google maps instead of remembering it is the San Marcos Las Posas location or other ways to remember. There are also really great food from the neighboring restaurants to enjoy. The store and restroom(s) are very clean. There are a couple of close by outdoor trash bins as well as the opportunity to recycle or throw away trash inside on their napkin station. The water is triple filtered and always is crisp and refreshing. (It's better quality and tastes better than bottled water). Be sure to wait in line even if you just ask for a cup of water, to be courteous to everyone. Other than drinks ; there are many tasty pasteries, treats, breakfast sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, and more snacks or power meals to eat. There is a lot of dine in and patio seating with a few umbrellas. Overall, wonderful store inside and out. This is definitely my favorite Starbucks to visit. Best experience when going through the drive thru to pick up my mobile orders, they are always efficient and friendly. Not sure the name of the gentleman who hands me my drink (every time I go it seems like) but him remembering my straw even when I forget to ask is awesome and so appreciated. Mainly writing this review because how impressed I was with how they handled an issue I had. I called the store about a missing item on my order, immediately they knew what I was talking about apologized and told me I could come back for a refund or that food item whenever was convenient. Went back the next day and was surprised that not only were they expecting me but even gave me a little extra for the trouble. I get it and appreciate it, but it was a very cold morning and I don't think the food would've spoiled that quickly. Then I asked her for a water cup and and a bag since I had two food items. She snapped again and told me to ask the cashier. The cashier seemed nicer. She did forget my bag so I had to ask her again. I do not think I will return to this location which is unfortunate since it is close to my work. I ordered a venti espresso Frappuccino, decaf. They hand me a milky white drink. I asked, if it had coffee in it? She said, "no, you wanted decaf." Now mind you, I'm not the professional barista. I said, "but it's an espresso drink and I wanted the espresso decaf." She said, "hold on." And leaves to speak to the person in charge that knows about coffee since it's a coffee house. She comes back and says, "you ordered an Espresso Frappuccino decaf and we removed ALL caffeine including the Frappuccino roast pumps. Would you like a straw?" Baristas, ESPRESSO coffee comes from a dark roast coffee bean. Decaf is the same coffee with the caffeine removed. An espresso beverage is normally served with a shot or multiples thereof. When one orders any espresso beverage, decaf, it simply means to make the shot decaf. I did attempt to address my grievance with the first barista, then she took it to the lead barista and I was shot down by both and was not going to argue at the window. This Starbucks is super slow, rude, and never makes drinks correctly. My entire job finds this location to be the worst in San Marcos. We drive all the way to Twin Oaks when the one on Knoll is closed because this one sucks so badly. They don't greet people walking in. They will not give you your mobile order in a timely fashion, when it's already ready. I've had to climb on the counter twice to grab my own drink and food because they wouldnt acknowledge the customers in the lobby, and my items were getting cold, only to taste them and they were made horribly. It's pretty spacious and we didn't realize there was also a drive thru. Sis uses the mobile app to order our coffees now and this location had the iced coffee ready on the counter by the time I arrived (less than 5 min later). The coffee was sitting there, at the pick up counter, ready to go so that was awesome. There was no staff interaction so we always wonder if some random person can just take off with a mobile order. Dear Starbucks employee that came to the drive thru window AFTER another employee had already scanned my phone for my order just to be a smart ass and condescendingly ask me if I have a mask and to inform me "just so you know all drive thrus require you to wear a mask..." Oh really? I'm a nurse, work in this field day in and day out since before this COVID started and clearly had on my uniform with my name badge that states "nurse" on it. MOST drive ways that require a mask states so at the ordering kiosk as well as the drive thru window for patrons to wear a mask. How about you guys consider doing that? I don't recall the guy in the car in front of me wearing a mask either but I guess you felt the need to be a big boss and make a point that the other employee failed to do so. The requirement is actually a mask when going into an establishment and to follow that establishments requirements to which SHOULD and ALMOST ALWAYS is posted before entering or when ordering. This Starbucks is conveniently located for me, so I find myself there often.... too often. Yes, the drive thru line can get long, but I've always found it to move quickly. The team members I've interacted with have always had a smile on their face and gave me the impression that they cared about me as a customer. My usual order is a venti white mocha latte with the bacon & gouda breakfast sandwich. Every time I've been, the food has been delectable, warm, and deliciously satisfying. The drinks are always hot and flavored just right. Sometimes, at the drive thru locations, I've noticed that if you're a walk-in customer you can feel a bit second-tier compared to the car driving customers. However, I've never gotten this impression at this location - whenever I walk in they are happy and eager to help, and my order is always relatively quick depending on how busy they are! If a team member sees you waiting and even one order is out before yours, they'll check in and ask what you've got and they'll make sure it's in progress - love it! I had to go back to the counter to get my forgotten order of "Pike". it was so weak, I ask for a replacement. The guy at the counter apologized and said he would take care of me.
