Waited in line for a little while and both customers in front of me weren't able to run their card. The guy says they've been having trouble with the machine so he switches to a new register and the line moves over. I place my order (3 items) and the total is $13. I hand him a twenty dollar bill and he says, "Oh we can't take cash at this register." I don't say anything because I assume he's going to ring me up at another register. My vanilla latte was so so good. I've tried many lattes in the area, most recently, a latte at bird rock right up the street. THIS latte was so much better, the coffee at Pete's has so much flavor and richness. I loved the foam that came with the latte, I've never had foam like that with my ice latte before. I did mobile orders, 2 days in a row. The 1st awesome, correct, hot. The 2nd a huge miss. Asked for no foam on my latte, cinnamon and extra hot. Unfortunately all 3 were missed. Absolutely disgusting service! I came in and started off friendly. Ordered my drink and "Aloha" the barista was lazy and super rude, handed me my Matcha with honey with the honey sitting at the bottom of the drink! She proceeded to direct me to mix it up myself?! Naturally took the drink and proceeded to mix it causing a huge mess. I brought it back and asked for the drink to be made properly as I have had this same drink at other locations and never been expected to mix my own drink I paid for! I was polite about the request. She was rude about it grabbed the drink and a spoon and began mixing, she kept moving the drink behind the counter so I could not see what she was doing as I was watching. After mixing she went to the back and got a metal cup and started shaking it! The way she kept hiding the cup was like she was mixing things in it she wasn't supposed too! As I am vegan! Proceeds to hand me the drink and made no eye contact, smile, or friendly my apologies here is your drink. We've lowered our review for our favorite Peet's because they have stopped selling those great almond croissants we have enjoyed for the past couple of years. Apparently they have "changed" their bakery supplier! The new offerings look really unappealing, so we will now have to just bring our own pastries from "Bread & Cie", the best authentic European style bakery in S.D. Whoever makes decisions about bakery goods at all the cafe's in the County - Starbucks, Peet's, Nordstrom Ebar, Coffee Bean, Pannikin, have such a limited (or purely profit driven) understanding that great coffee means great pastries go together! I came here right before work to order a coffee. I got a cold brew with condensed milk. I thought my drink would come out quickly because cold brews are typically pre-brewed. Instead, it took 15 minutes to get my cold brew. Luckily the drink tasted good, but it's not worth waiting for 15 minutes. I will add that it was busy, so I guess I should have expected a little bit of a wait. I probably won't come here that often. read more

I am generally a fan of Peet's Coffee shops around town and beyond. This one left me with that okay feeling mostly due to the sitting arrangement and the fact that they did not properly warm up my holiday pumpkin scone. I had a Cafe au Lait which was good on the second try. They used a dark roast on the first go around but the coffee was to bitter. I was surprised I was able to taste it through the steamed milk. I after a couple of sips, I asked them to remake it with a medium roast which was much better and had no bitterness. So the coffee was good and the send try and so was the pumpkin scone. It was very tasty and the pumpkin and spice flavor came through very well. However, it needed to heated more thoroughly. The ends of the scone were warm and moist but the inner portion was cold and somewhat harder. Another 60 seconds and this scone would of been gold. There is plenty of seating available outside and some inside, but the little sofas along the walls need to be replaced. They are to low and the cushioning is to soft so you melt into the seat, as a result, the table in front of you becomes a little taller and therefore becomes an awkward angle. They need some firmer and a little taller sofas. The staff was friendly enough at the ordering counter, but when I asked for a redo on my Cafe au Lait to a medium roast, the young girl at the other counter gave me that look which was not a smile. Where to begin.. Parking is almost non-existent here, good luck! The food is always bland here, even Starbucks is better honestly. The coffee is a step above Starbucks but not by much and they lack a nitro coffee on the menu to this day. The time it takes to receive your order often feels too long considering it's never very busy here. They have paper straws but plastic lids, it's so dumb. Just make plastic lids you can drink out of like Starbucks has. They don't have a Sriracha sauce or any sort of sauce for hot breakfast sandwiches that desperately need them. They used to have Cholula sauce but no more! I find myself going here and then I end up going to Starbucks anyway to get a straw that doesn't disintegrate and a Sriracha sauce packet, making me question why I came here in the first place, I guess for the coffee that's slightly better. Overall I would say avoid this location and Peet's Coffee in general as it's gone downhill. read more

Allie, one of the baristas working, didn't bat an eye when I asked for decaf at 11am. She happily said they would brew some for me....versus the usual 'we don't have any now' at other coffeeshops. This is where she really excelled at customer service... Allie: Will you be outside? Me: Yes...(and she sees I'm with my two small kids) Allie: How would you like your coffee? I can bring it to you outside. I really appreciated that. My kids are too young to be left alone outside (5 and 2) and to have someone go that extra mile really made my day....instead of my dragging them back in to get my coffee and then make it how I like it. Located in the Bressi Ranch shopping center in Carlsbad. I failed to order the blended Rasp Mocha, but it was still good. The M&C Freddo was refreshing. Peet's Coffee is always such a delight! I was really craving a pumpkin spice latte, and this was my first time trying one from Peet's. I love how they have their Autumn flavors out earlier than many other places. The Iced Pumpkin Latte was absolutely wonderful, with a nice strong coffee flavor that pulls through. The spices are nice and warm, and it's not sickly sweet like many other coffee joints. I also got their bacon cheddar brioche, and wow it was fantastic! The brioche was soft and buttery, the egg cooked wonderfully, and the cheddar flavor was shining through! Peet's is absolutely lovely, and I highly recommend people give it a try! This Peet's coffee is one of my favorite locations! There are plenty of seating inside and outside. Also if you have time there is a little park you can walk to across the street and it's absolutely lovely. The staff are always super friendly and helpful in case you don't know what to order. I love ordering their vanilla latte and chai teas. They have coconut and almond milk as well if you can't have 2% milk ! They are pretty fast too during the busy rush in the mornings and lunch time. Just figured out Peet's opens at 5 am! If I make a coffee run I usually go to Starbucks across the street because they open just as early, but I prefer Peet's over Starbucks. So I stopped by here around 5:15 am this morning for some much needed coffee before work and scored on a pretty good deal, I think! If you check in on Yelp, you get a dollar off their drink special of the month. I ordered the Black Tie (pretty good, kinda on the sweeter side, not enough coffee flavor for my liking though, could use a little more...). They have some sort of promotion going on cuz they gave me 50% off my medium drink which came out to $1.87 or something. Score! and I got my caffeine fix:) Also ordered their honey bran muffin, yum! This is the third time my husband and I have come to this Peets location. All three times have been on different days and at different times. ALL three times, without fail, they have taken at least 20 minutes to get us our food. The drinks come out, somewhat quickly, however they have forgotten our food order, forgotten to cook it, and forgotten to call us when it was ready. ALL three times we have had to ask again for our food to be delivered and/or prepared. Although this location is convenient to our other errands, we will not be returning to the Peets again. Peets as a company makes amazing coffee but if you enjoy a hot fast cup of black coffee, be ready to wait. Usually while I'm waiting they also sell out of the Fantastic, plant-based breakfast sandwiches and orange juice.. those are either very popular items or just stocked at a very low quantities. If you could get a black cup of coffee in under 10 minutes I'd come back.. if your idea of coffee is coffee +10 ingredients and you've got all the Time in the world this might be for you. My impression is that they do not cater to regular coffee drinkers but more the coffee as a desert crowd. read more
