The local Starbucks in Montecito, located on the commercial street of Coast Village Road. My wife likes to have coffee first thing in the morning, so I'll get into my car and drive from the Four Seasons, where we are staying and just 5 minutes away. This is a fairly large location, serving the locals. Lot's of foot traffic, but the 6 baristas behind the counter are super efficient moving the line, with professionalism and a smile. You take time to write a review if is really good or the opposite:(( I like this location, nothing really that can be criticized other then long lines every time but I like the crowd:)) the outside patio is great!!!! But... I only give 3 stars because every time I go they misunderstand my order. Now I learned to read what they write on my cup... Misspelling my name is fun! But me repeating a few time "coconut milk please" is embarrassing! If I see they put my drink in dairy blender I know they got wrong and I ask again.... Some are funny and chat with you, make a nice comment but yesterday both girls(the one that took order and one made my drink) forced me write the review this morning:(( she took a long time to make this mocha frap with coconut!!!! milk... Chat with her coworker that was carrying buckets of ice, making jokes between the two, got distracted with so many other moves around, meantime started like few other drinks... literally I saw my drink waiting at every step to get to the next... It was in blender for like over 2!minutes because she served a few other drinks.. She even took time to rinse the blender cup and top before she got a top for my drink to serve it... My drink got to me very watery because it was melting already and not much flavor... I don't think I had all ingredients in it... But I had to run... Otherwise I would have told them to remake it... They are wonderful! They know all the regulars by name and they remember your order every-time. There is sometimes a long line but they are so quick you very have to wait too long. Coffee is great for the bucks read more

This location is in a great area and is kept very clean compared to other Starbucks. As a past Starbucks employee from Canada, I would say it's actually the cleanest I've ever seen for how big the store actually is. It is quite busy, but never cramped, and it's not the store's fault for the traffic of customers it receives, so I'm not sure why there are so many bad ratings based on how "swamped" it is; also, every time I go in (mid-day) there is hardly anyone there and always a great selection of seating. On top of that, the staff and baristas and very friendly, efficient, and put in effort into their minimum wage jobs. You can tell that they're happy to be there and never give attitude. Okay, Starbucks management in Montecito, it's time to eavesdrop on your employees ringing up customers. It's one thing to be social,It's quite another to be engaging customers in conversation when there are customers behind them. I don't really care where you took your girlfriend last night or what's a great place to dine cheaply. Seriously, if a customers asks, that's one thing-but keeping customers there while you-the employee-ask them more questions? Not good...less is more. read more

I frequent this Starbucks almost daily. On the downside, it can be crowded and slow. On the upside there are always a fun group of people to watch coming in and out. I find the staff to be friendly and always willing to please. In the mornings you most likely will see a celebrity or two if you watch closely. read more

I used to work in this retail area (for a year, in high school). It is a pretty busy spot, and parking can be hairy. Re: The starbucks here churns out the yummy drinks & baked goods at a reasonable pace (not always super fast, but I think they do not always have enough staff on hand). Such is life. I stop by here two to three times a year on my way up north. They always do a great job and now they carry Laboulange. The line can be long depending what time of the day you are there, however, they do a great job getting you through quickly. This is usual a bathroom stop and it is pretty clean. read more

Honestly, reviewing a Starbucks is like reviewing a McDonalds. You know what you're getting, and the quality may vary depending on just how little the employees care at the precise moment you're there, but it will never be the best culinary experience of your life, nor will it be the worst. 2 stars because on a very consistent basis I go into the restroom and it is a disaster: water everywhere, empty TP rolls next to garbage, no TP or seat covers, dirt and grime all over the floor, out of soap. I understand that this is a high-volume Starbucks and a lot of traffic comes from sandy beach-goers, but management should compensate for this by increasing frequency of bathroom checks/cleanings. It seems like a pretty simple problem with an even simpler solution, yet it remains an issue. read more

One of my favorite Starbucks. Great indoor and outdoor seating, pet friendly, and fast and competent baristas. Great location near the beach and at the top of coast village rd. Downside: this is a high volume location and the staff doesn't seem to keep the trash cans from overflowing and the bathrooms clean. My experience here was awkward. I won't be back. I was only there for a total of about 30 minutes. I ordered my coffee and sat at a table by the window to work. I had my laptop, notebooks, binder etc spread out on the table. An elderly man approached me and said that I was sitting in his spot, and that he sits there everyday. I told him I wasn't going to move all my stuff, and that I'd only be there another 15 minutes. He pointed at another table, telling me it was empty. So I told him "Great then you can sit there." He was so appalled that he went and told a random guy at the table next to mine, and that guy offered to give him his table, but the man said no because he wanted HIS table. Lol. So then the man goes to order his coffee, and loudly complains to the staff about the girl that took his favorite spot. I was disappointed that the staff didn't kindly remind him that the seating is UNRESERVED. Instead they asked him, "Did you ask her to move?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? What is this, the 1940s?! This quick trip to get some work done turned into me being harassed for my seat and the staff only making it more uncomfortable. read more

Today is the third time in a row I have done a mobile order at this same location and all three times my order has taken extensively longer than the approximated time. The last time I did a mobile order for travelers it took 45 minutes! No apologizes, just excuses. Terrible customer service. Today I tried again to place a mobile order for the same Starbucks at 7am on a Sunday. The expected time frame for drink and snack to be ready was 3-5 min. After 15 minutes I politely asked if our orders were almost ready and discovered that they hadn't even looked at the mobile orders we placed and started the orders. Total time was 25 minutes for a latte....disappointing to say the least. At least this last time they did give us coupons for a free drink in the future which we appreciated. Just hope they will improve their customer service and improve their time expectancy as provided on the app. read more

I guess this pace was okay as far as a Starbucks goes, i mean I didn't have any issues with my order... but it was crowded. The real turn off was when I discovered that the crowd consisted mainly of students from Westmont...and the last place on earth I want to be in in a room full of students from a Private Christian College...seriously, what kind of education is that? Love this place because it's the only Starbucks that never gets my order wrong. BUT today was the day. First time I have ever encountered the most rude customer service. While ordering the cashier interrupts me with "can I get your name first, and repeat your order" after I pay I'm waiting for about 10 mins for my two fraps (on a non busy day) and a barista comes up to me and asks me if I was waiting for something. Um yea my order. Upon this time I had only received one frap and I was waiting for the other. Not only did she accuse me of not paying for two fraps she gives me a different order. The barristas were all very nice. The food was good. I like the variety of breakfast selection. We got our food in a timely manner. We didn't get coffee so I can't comment on that but I will say the breakfast we ate was good and the people were so nice. read more
