Went to Starbucks this morning as for a cup of ice water they told me that I would have to purchase something in order to get a cup of ice water, which is understandable. I ordered one of reusable plastic cups for the ice water gentleman comes in behind me and ask for a cup of ice water as well. They gave him the biggest cup. They had full of ice water at no charge. My question is what makes me different than anyone else that comes through that door, why would the next person ice water be free but I was told that I will have to purchase something in order to get the ice water this is not the first issue I've had at the Starbucks that has not ever been resolved not to mention months ago, I went to order a sandwich and half of the bun at the bottom of my sandwich was gone they're not too friendly there. This is ongoing issues. They're not very organize I mean if they were gonna give the next person behind me free water I mean, they could at least waited until I left. This large Starbucks is located at the Grand Hyatt Seattle over on 7th Ave, just south of Pine St. Last time I was in downtown Seattle to catch a matinee movie over at the AMC Pacific Place, I stopped here to get coffee and something to eat. Per the usual, I placed my order on their mobile app before going inside to wait for my order. I ordered a bacon, sausage & egg wrap and grande blonde vanilla latte. I am a huge starbucks coffee fan! Now during summer i like trying out different refreshments they have to offer and one of my fav is their mango dragonfruit refreshment! Light ice and this is an amazing hit summer drink! We also ordered the mocha chocolate frappe and that was not great! It just felt like things were stacked up and in every sip you were not able to get a blend of chocolate, coffee & cake! Stopped here for a cup of joe. Similar to most Starbucks, good, quick, service. Got an americano and asked for a cup of ice no problems. This location has some seating and WiFi as well. The staff at this Starbucks are very unfriendly / non-personable. We went here twice during a stay in downtown Seattle. The first time wasn't bad, but they were out of certain items. They had plenty of seating inside, too. The following day, we went in... same thing... out of certain items. We sat on the bench with our food/drinks. This time... they removed all the bar stools and chairs, which we thought was odd. A few minutes later, one of the employees went around telling people they cannot sit on the bench if eating / drinking. They can only sit there if they're waiting on food/drinks. Because of "Covid." So, I guess they only do this on the weekends?? It makes zero sense. They even kicked the elderly security guard out that had just sat down and taken all his food out. This Covid stuff has made things pretty bizarre. Lol. read more

Good selection of breakfast items - assorted egg sandwiches and pastries. We used them a few times when nothing else was open early. They open at 5:30 am. Great, when you have to eat and be somewhere very early. So thanks for that. Very nice staff. No problem giving you an extra bag to mange your purchases for whatever trip you're taking. I usually come to this Starbucks when I am attending some type of event at the Convention Center in Seattle. This store is generally packed and they do a fabulous job of keeping up with orders. They are really friendly and engage their customers. We visited again this year during the Emerald City Comicon, the employees were wearing super hero capes, so cute! They even had special drinks available in recognition of ECCC. My daughter was dressed up in a unique costume and the Barista recognized her and wrote her character name on her drink, she loved it! The drinks were perfect, as always. I love supporting Starbucks since they are a local company. Okay, I see you, 7th & Pike Starbucks! The store across from the Regal Meridian 16 movie theatre has gotten a serious reboot since I've last been in town. With gorgeous wood decor and sustainable repurposed metal, this store now matches the quality of the hotel it shares space with. Every barista at this store I met over the two times I came here was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and fast- my friend and I remarked that we were impressed with the service here compared to other locations downtown. Although I would normally give four stars because Starbucks needs to improve the sustainability and quality of its tea and coffee, I kept the five-star rating here because I recognize that this location doesn't control that particular part of the corporation's reach. What they do control (customer service, keeping to the recipe, communication between partners, education and training of team members), they do well. Way to go! read more

This is my second favorite location. The first is the fourth avenue one across from men's Warehouse. This particular Starbucks does an amazing job handling all of the crazy volume during conventions. Starbucks can be found, quite literally, on EVERY corner in Downtown Seattle. However, not all Starbucks are created equal. The Starbucks on 7th between Pike and Pike just off of the lobby of the Grand Hyatt is one of those Starbucks that's more "equal" than others. Given it's convenience to the hotel I was staying and free wifi, this Starbucks was my regular morning stop. It's spacious, clean, and modern-looking...the antithesis to the flagship Starbucks in Pike Place Market. Service was also friendly and fast. However, the one thing that made this Starbucks stand out was its Clover brewing machine which brewed made to order cups of Starbucks' Special Reserve Coffees. While the Clover may be old news in Seattle, I had never seen nor heard of it since it isn't available in the DC-area. In truth, it seems way gimmicky, but it does brew a mean cup of coffee. Like with any newfangled, high-tech device, you pay a premium over the usual cost for their standard brew, but this is attributable to the additional labor to make a single cup of coffee and the special beans. Unfortunately, they were out of the Jamaican Blue Mountain while I was in town which would've cost over double the price of a regular cup of joe. Bottom line: I like my coffee old school...black, no cream, no sugar. This Starbucks with its high-falutin' coffee machine delivered hot, fresh caffeinated goodness the way I like it. read more

Starbucks is Starbucks, for the most part, but this has been my favorite Starbucks in the downtown area for at least ten years. It's large and there's a good amount of seating. It's just across the street and around the corner from the Convention Center, so it's a usual stop for me when I'm at a convention. While it gets very busy, the lines here are still shorter than the Starbucks/Tullys/whatever it is now inside the convention center itself. I also think it's really cute how they have special drinks and signs for whatever convention is going on like PAX, Emerald City Comic Con, or Sakura-Con. The restrooms are inside the connected lobby of an upscale hotel, so it's always amusing to watch the reactions of business travelers and tourists to the throngs of cosplayers. read more

Although, I do prefer the more grungy bar scene Seattle specalizes in, you can get some of those golden stars here! I wish i could give them a separate review However, I just received some of the worst experience. Free drinks, are free drinks and yes a lot of guests go a little nuts with the order. I ordered a very fruity smoothy --- adding in blueberries, which are traditionally an oatmeal topping. Somehow this ONLY AVAILABLE in VENTI size drink came as a grande beverage with some room on top... I complained, and the silly Partner made up some "evolution smoothie" excuse. She refused to help me... very disappointing experience, as I've learned as a partner that if the drink is wrong, we fix it. As a Seattle local, I frequent many Starbucks around the city and this one is probably my least favorite. I park on Fourth and Union, and walk yo the convention center for work and, I must say, I walk past roughly four other Starbucks coffee shops along the way. I go this one, because it is the most convenient. I go here five or six times per week. I spend way too much money here. During every visit during the last week, I have been pushed into an awkward morning conversation, while waiting in line by some employee asking why "nobody is happy today?", I have been handed the wrong drink, waiting over 20 minutes for a sand which, over charged for a drink (I get literally the same thing everyday, so the price should be pretty consistent) and given a cup that was barely 3/4 full. I'm glad I pay $5.00 for a 12oz cup with only 6oz of liquid in it. I realize ounces are difficult for people in this could try, but all you have to so is fill it up. Word of advice, give the customers what they pay for, or you will lose them. Many large, globally recognized companies have fallen, because they forget that simple task. I don't need to have a conversation with you in the morning, I can't too you anyways, just don't overcharge or short my drink. read more

Wow. Just.. wow. When you go to a Starbucks the main discerning factor is customer service. I mean, everything else is prescribed and trained. We went there just after a show, and not realizing it was a few minutes before closing. I needed to use the restroom, and evidently they share their restroom with the hotel next door. I asked for the "key" and was told the "gate" to the restrooms were closed for the night and I would have to leave and walk around to the hotel to use their restroom. Not only that, we felt the employees were kicking us out. Now, we didn't realize that it was closing time, but really. Typically what employees should do is lock the front door, do their cleanup, and accommodate their current guests for at least 10-15 minutes while they clean up. We did not intend to stick around, but don't make us feel like we are overstaying our welcome when the minute hand hits 12. I appreciate the hard work that Starbucks employees do, especially with late shifts, but at least they should be able to unlock a door upon request. read more
