It is nice on Main street Ventura. Perfect place to have a star bucks. There is seating outside and they close pretty late. The parking is tough cause it is Main st Ventura. Perfectly find Starbucks in downtown Ventura. Easy to find so it's a good place to meet someone. I met a girlfriend for coffee and a snack. The wait was not too long and our orders were filled correctly. This location is pretty small so it's not always easy to find a table but we did get one around the corner on the less visible side patio. Short walk from the room we were staying at. It's a great location. I'll just get the negative over with, it was awkward set up , very small and hard to be comfortable shoulder to shoulder. Especially when it was very early , and tiny space filled with caffeine addicted grouches ( like myself ) So with that said , the service was fabulous! Friendly and quick ! They had a nice outdoor seating area though. Kinda makes up for the awkward side to side shuffle during the order and pick up. Although this place is small, their friendly service sure does fill up the place. I've been coming here for the past four weeks and every time I've had a great interaction with the staff. The coffee: it's Starbucks! You're going to get some generic coffee that's branded as 'original' and 'Colombian' and 'fair trade', but we all know it's probably from the same factory in Guatemala. It'll be the same coffee as the coffee at the Starbucks a mile away. You come here for the service! As many other reviewers have pointed out, the place is small. If you plan on going to study, you better be a person who loves a bunch of people seemingly rubbing their torsos on you while you're on your computer. If you're lucky, you'll get a seat outside and get a great view of Downtown Ventura. And if you can't get a seat the library is up the street. read more

This is one of my favorite starbucks in town! The location is super convenient for a quick pick me up after downtown shopping or errands. I ordered on the Starbucks app while shopping and my drink was ready by the time I'd walked to the store! The barista was very friendly and patient with the questions I had about the app. The patio seating is perfect if you want to sit around a bit longer. (If you play Pokémon go you reach three stops at this location!) Tons of nearby parking and a Starbucks specific lot around back. In respect to the local shops, I'm glad there is only one Starbucks in the old town area. Very tight quarters, especially if you want to sit and relax with your cup of liquid goodness. One coffee-tender made my day a couple years ago at 6am... I was heading to an engineering competition and needed a pick-me up at the crack of dawn - we had just swung into daylight savings time... I head to this particular Starbucks a lot. On my way to work, from work, or just because I really need a scone. The employees here are very pleasant and my constant presence means they recognize me. This is the only Starbucks on the boulevard, main street. So when in Ventura after a day of sightseeing and strolling the Blvd. We stop here and get our favorite drinks, of course mine is coffee. This shop is very small and I gotta be honest it stinks inside !!! Homeless just sitting there and stinking up the shop!! And as well as outside, they asked for water ...as usual and just kick it there. Otherwise, staff here are friendly, helpful, happy and courteous, all Starbucks employees are, I believe that. I've tried coming to this Starbucks so many times to try and find re deeming qualities, but I've come to the point where this is just the worst Starbucks I've ever ordered from. The people are ALWAYS so rude, always give me such nasty attitude every time and literally just make me feel so bad for even ordering. On top of that, they always mess up my drinks, every. Single. Time. And I am not someone to go and ask them to re make my drink, so it's basically just a waste of money because I have to go buy a new drink from a different Starbucks anyways. per usual, starbucks is great because customers know exactly what they're going to get. consistency, not only with beverages, but also with service. the baristas are always so friendly- it must have something to do with working for a chain and not being an angsty writer/musician/artist who works part-time at an indie cafe making minimum wage just to pay his iphone bill because the proletariat is too ignorant to appreciate his craft. there's nothing more irritating than a snotty barista when you just want a decent $1.50 cup of joe. this is what makes starbucks a safe standby, on all fronts. this location offers the same unfailing menu and, more importantly, results and service. there is patio seating, but it can get windy and kind of cold... but if it's not too busy, the barista will bring your drink out to you if you get tired of waiting and decide to light up instead. the indoor seating layout feels a little cramped, unless you sit near the window, against the wall. read more

The service was pretty bad here today when I tried to redeem my 50% of holiday drink reward. The cashier, Nicole, was absolutely terrible. The offer was clearly available, not redeemed or expired. I have also seen cashiers adjust pricing as well. For some reason that day, my offer code wasn't going through when I ordered a venti chestnut praline latte. She said there was nothing she could do and Id have to take it up with the rewards program. So we sat there arguing for 5 minutes and then another barista came up with the drink I ordered. He asked what was the problem and proceeded to try and fix it. Turns out this offer was only for grande sized drinks, which would have been fine if it was in the offer details or a barista told me that was the case. So she gave me the grande offer and tried to tell the barista to go make me another smaller sized drink. With the line pulling up, he just gave me the venti drink even though she was insisting on giving me a smaller one. Kudos to this guy for dealing with Nicole. He is the reason why I gave a 2 star rating. When it comes to large chain eateries, it all comes down to service and the consistency of the food/drink. I don't even know where to start with this review. The event was surreal, so bear with me. Several months ago, possibly around summer time due to the sheer number of homeless people out panhandling due to the good weather, I had come in on what looked to be a busy store with all the customers outside, but it was dead inside with the exception of maybe 3 employees. I ordered the usual for me and my SO, iced tea for me and a frapp for him. The guy that took and made our order was oddly sassy (description probably won't help due to the sheer number of 20-something dark-haired males that work there with black framed glasses, but from what I can remember he was average height, chubby and had short hair, too). Like so annoying you just can't wait to get your order and go. He jokingly told me that it was more than it was, and I told him I'd give him whatever the actual total was. The next thing out of his mouth was "Girl, I'mma split you open like a piggy bank". That's when another barista made an audible, surprised sound and say he's taking his break (and I bet he heard my entire rant about his dumb-ass co-worker on my way to the parking lot behind the store where he was taking his break). I was immediately uncomfortable and tried to navigate my way through this shit-show of a conversation. I tried to choose my words carefully and not make this a thing, even my SO could see how much I was trying to regain control of the situation, but this guy was determined to make an ass of himself. I tried to play it off by saying I've got nothing else on me and that the competition on the corners (where homeless people were VISIBLY panhandling) was high right now. But before I could really finish my sentence, he pounced on the corner = prostitution thing so fast, it was like he couldn't help himself. I wanted the entire ordeal to be over, but this guy was also the one making our drinks so we were hostages at this point. He was taking forever to get the frapp done and used the opportunity to ask us if we hated him now. Yeah, now we have to stand here and coddle your insecurity, what a good move. He proceeded to tell us that he was just really honest and that people can't handle his honesty. I swear if I didn't have the maturity I do now, my 20-year-old self would have laid into him, but I remained quite. This silence only made him more insecure (probably because he was afraid he was now going to get an earful from management, idk) as he doubled down on saying his girlfriends don't even invite him out clothes shopping any more due his blunt honesty. The entire time I'm thinking, "Yeah, THAT'S why your friends don't invite you out anymore, not because you're a huge bitch for no reason." He kept it up with asking us if we hated him, while I fixed up my tea and continued to ignore him. He didn't stop until my SO just said "I don't know you, man." and we FINALLY got our drinks and left. What made our choice absolutely final to never come to this Starbucks again was my SO getting sick from what had to be old half-and-half leftover from the previous night or something. We went very early in the morning, maybe an hour after opening. So early that I was surprised that the carafe that was out was nearly empty except the remnants that dribbled out. I let the barista working know they were out and all she could do was give me a "why are you bothering me, don't you see I don't care" look on her face.
