Rarely do I write reviews on Starbucks. This one made an impression on me. I opened the door to a massive footprint. Decorated in indigenous wood, maybe koa, and with high ceilings. I don't drink coffee often, but I came here to get a mocha cookie Frappuccino. The Frappuccino itself was good, but it was wayyyyy too expensive. $7 for a small cup of what was presumably syrups blended with ice and cookie crumble. Maybe some think it's worth it, but not for me. Service was good, I will give them that read more

Best Starbucks in town They get the drinks done fast and they always taste on point the service is what you expect for a Starbucks Not the most friendly people but what can you expect they there were tourist all the time. If you're new to Starbucks and don't know what to get here are a few go to options. I'm lactose intolerant so you can substitute the oat milk with just regular milk if you'd like. Also, I don't get whip cream because whip cream is dairy. Double chocolate chip Frappuccino sub oat milk (this one is like a chocolate milkshake and has no caffeine) Iced Matcha latte sub oat milk And my go to because I'm an espresso girly but too much espresso flavor girly lol: Grande iced Americano inside a Venti cup 2hazelnut syrups with white mocha and oat milk Also, if you are traveling through and want to grab a souvenir cup, this Starbucks has the most amount of souvenir cups for Hawaii I've ever seen. Even more than the Starbucks inside the Oahu airport!! This Starbucks does not have a bathroom or seating area really but that's ok because the shopping center has so many cute places to sit and drink your coffee and has several bathrooms. read more

They are constantly closing early with no notice or explanation posted. For a brand-new location, you'd expect them to at least honor their stated business hours. This has been happening since they opened. We came by to treat my sister to a birthday drink and couldn't even do that because the store was closed early again. If the store can't reliably stay open during advertised hours, it shouldn't be operating with those hours listed in the first place. read more

The baristas were friendly and they did a great job of making my iced espresso. The prices also seem to be aligned with pricing on the mainland, so you're not paying exorbitant resort prices. There are 8-10 small tables outside where you can relax and drink your coffee and the landscaping is leafy --- it shields some of the tables from the parking lot, which is nice. Pro tip: For a Hawaiian repast, grab a $2.60 spam musubi from Island Gourmet (just around the corner), order an iced coffee or tea from Starbucks, and enjoy both as Hawaiian birds such as the amikihi and Java sparrow flit by overhead. read more

Super cute location in the mall-ish area and it is spacious inside. But ... the service was rough. Four employees working, and every single one looked miserable to be there. Not friendly, not helpful, just unhappy/angry vibes all around. I get that it's Waikoloa and full of tourists, but it's still your job. A smile or basic courtesy wouldn't hurt. After a movie, my family and I were walking around the Queens' Market Place and got a little thirsty so we came into a well-known establishment to get some drinks. The barista was incredibly patient as my teenage son called his friend back on the mainland to ask him what drink he normally makes for him while he's at work. Lol teenagers! They always need help! Lol. Apparently, my son loves their iced brown sugar, espresso with oat milk or some thing of the rather?! Lol too much for me to say, it was funny, nevertheless. I ordered the passion, fruit and strawberry smoothie along with some Madeline's. Everything was delicious and perfectly hit the spot! This Starbucks in Waikoloa Queens marketplace is the nicest Starbucks. You can sit outside on the many tables and listen to the birds and the waterfalls. The employees are all super friendly and capable and smiling and very service oriented. I even asked for my agave syrup to be cut with a scissors because I can never open them with my teeth and when I got my refill on my coffee because I'm a gold star, REBE and gave me my syrup cut open already. That's called service. The oatmeal came out really promptly as did everything else we ordered and we've come here three times now. 10 stars come here. read more

Wow I can't say enough bad things about this location. 1st I came in and asked for a large ice coffee, and they do that thing where they pretend they don't know what I am talking about and ask "do you want this large or this large?" And they are pointing to the Venti and Trenta, which is their petty way of trying to waste your time and make you use their jargon (they know which one I wanted). Also I asked for half and half in my ice coffee and they made me put it in myself which is fine, but I also know it is their way of being disrespectful to me, since no other Starbucks does that. The one that pissed me off the most was asking for a water, and they said that I could only get one with a purchase. So I purchased a $5 gift card with my $5 gift card I had. We stopped in here to see if they sold Kona coffee. Hubs said for sure and I said no way; he won lol. We usually stop at a Starbucks when visiting a new destination to collect the city or state mug. We stopped in here before shopping at the marketplace and grabbing some drinks at a bar. The store was empty and we were the only customers when we first arrived. There was only one barista working and we were greeted upon entering. I figured since I can get their regular menu items any time, I decided to go with some Kona coffee as well. We browsed the merchandise first but did not see anything that caught our eye. We both ordered Kona coffee and waited. The barista was polite and carried on a conversation with us while she was making our coffees. Holy crap those coffees were super expensive! I am not sure if it is because the location or because Kona coffee is expensive to begin with. The coffee took some time to prepare with grinding the beans and brewing the coffee. It was worth every Penny and the wait. The store was clean and neat. My only regret is not purchasing or even looking to see if they had Kona coffee beans to take home. Crazy to say but Starbucks had one of the best Kona coffees we had in all of Hawaii. read more

Tip: This Starbucks will brew you a cup of Kona Coffee if you ask. This is not available on the Mainland--only here. It's not on the menu and only by special request. However the Barrister told me that Starbucks requires that the Kona coffee bean be sent to the Mainland to be roasted. So they are sending the Kona Coffee to the Mainland and then back to Kona. That's a lot of coffee bean travel. The cup of Kona coffee here was over $6--double the traditional Starbucks Pikes and more or equal to a cup at the Kona coffee shop. I asked the Barrister how come so much? He said it's the cost of labor in South America for Pikes and other Starbucks blends vs. cost of Labor in Hawaii for Kona Coffee. A bag of Kona Coffee cost 2x the cost of a Starbuck's bag in the store. It was a very good coffee, but not sure it was worth $6+ This Starbucks is located in a high end shopping center with easy free parking. It's a pleasant place to hang out. read more

Really not much of a Starbucks fan -- I avoid one of the many locations at home to opt for the only Dunkin' -- but coffee in our hotel was expensive and it made sense to visit Starbucks for the loyalty points (stars). Also, this Starbucks serves Kona coffee by the cup and bag of beans, so it's unique. There is also special Hawaii merch and pins. (We saw some of the same merch at the Target.) Service is really good and friendly considering how busy they always were. You also could order regular items by mobile order, just no Kona coffee. I was able to cash in my Starbucks loyalty stars for a bag of Kona coffee, which is amazing. We kept going back because it was a good option, the kids like Starbucks food, I like Kona coffee and we racked up Starbucks stars to use anywhere. Win-win. read more

I arrived right after opening at 5am. I was the only customer so I had excellent service. The employee greeted me and even informed me that today is double points day and that was the first time that an employee has EVER shared rewards benefits with me. I was so impressed that I had to write a review. My coffee was accurate, warm, and quickly made. The outdoor seating was perfect. It's Hawaii, so you really can't go wrong. Corporate office needs to reevaluate the staff/manager at this location. We arrived at 5am and waited outside in the rain until 5:30am while the staff was "preparing to open". Three staff were present. No consideration was given by the manager to the fact we were could have waited inside. We overheard one of the workers ask if they should let us in, which was met by a wave of the hand by the presumptive manager. We left back into the rain to find coffee elsewhere. read more

have been a lifetime Starbucks fan forever contributing thousands of dollars of revenue for this business. More so recently for the past 2 weeks I have not been able to mobile order and the mobile ordering system is so convenient as I am able to pick up my drink and be on my way. It allows me to save time from my busy life rather than waiting to get my drinks. It is insane that I haven't been able to mobile order for the past 2 weeks. This is the only company that has a coffee shop around this area so it is really hard to go elsewhere to grab a nice coffee. Yup. Starbucks on the Big Island of Hawaii. Well for most it's the best of both worlds. You get you cake / frapp and paradise too! The usual Starbucks menu will put you at ease. The cool drinks will chill the hot humid temps and put a smile on your face. Free wifi / they take the app too. Only thing that would put it over the top is a drive thru - haha. a nice little Starbucks serving 2 hotels and a bunch of condos in the region. I've seen some negative reviews for poor customer service. I disagree with those assessments. this place is busy. The community has a ton of people/tourists and just one Starbucks to serve them. there is always a line of customers. Eith that many people coming through it's difficult for the staff to BS with each tourist they see. They have always been polite with me and I receive my order quickly. Maybe it's not "aloha" friendly but if you wanted that you would find a locally owned joint anyway. read more
