As soon as we walked in (dad carried me in of course because I'm a princess) the nice young lady behind the counter kept saying how cute and adorable I am. Since we have moved into this neighbourhood, this has become our Starbucks and I'll tell you why. There are many other coffee shops in the vicinity of this one, but we choose this one simply because every morning we enter through it's doors we are acknowledged and greeted with a warm smile. It's like you're going to their home for a cup of coffee...it's so warm, personable and friendly. Damon and Chris and all the staff there truly make it a wonderful experience! And I mean that's really what you want right? .....specially first thing in the morning when you're about to have your first cup of whatever you drink to be with another soul greeting you with a smile and welcoming you! I recommend if you're shopping around but I have it 3 stars because it lacks the traditional amenities of an actual Starbucks. If you just want a quick drink while shopping this is the place to go. This is a zero star review. Found this Starbucks to be racist and very rude to white people. Walked in to a fake welcome shouted at me by someone who wasn't even looking, ordered and sat to drink. After 10 mins i was approached by a black employee who out of nowhere demanded i show him vaccination proof, when i told him i was finishing and leaving he rudely instructed me to leave immediately unless i showed papers (the busboy btw), a very rude gay Latina women who claimed to be the manager then came over, berated me and demanded i get out. As a paying customer it disturbed me greatly that i was paying for a service only to be abused by badly trained employees. As the only white person in there i felt that i had been targeted and they were using the unannounced proof of vaccination orders to clear the store of whites, even though there had been no advance warning. If you enjoy paying $5 for a drink and having some barista rudely insult you and kick you out because you refuse to identify over a cup of coffee, then this is the place for you. They should put a sign, if you are straight and white, you are not welcome here. read more

He rudely tricked me into putting on a face-mask (July, 18, 11:15am). When I asked why? (!) he told me if you not agree with the Policy I should leave... Despite the fact that I walked into the store with my coffee and was actively drinking (!).. however there was a women who was sitting inside and eating, without facemask obviously. Now I googled that Los Angeles requires face-masks again. I came to California this morning and didn't know about this. Just googled after visiting this Starbucks. I was just observing while I waited for my mobile order (having my AirPod max earphones on my ear, but they were turned off) and her interaction with customers was so good! I came here after having lunch at a local sushi spot. I was very thirsty, as my lunch was super spicy. So I ordered an iced green tea. The drink came out just fine, it was the customer service that was lacking a bit. The employees here were a bit cold, and I could tell the barista was not having a good day. I'm not a big fan of the crowd here either. There are some seedy characters that hang out at the La Brea/SM Blvd intersection. It's actually pretty bad at night time. They provided me with what I ordered, and it was adequately made. So no issue there. But as far as coffee shops, I'd go elsewhere. read more

Yummo! Came to this store prior to shopping at Target. Glad I did. The staff at this Starbucks rocks! They have customer service down to a science. Baristas are all smiles and they are looking to make your day much better with coffee and a good attitude. Laura was exceptional. I was looking for the dark roast which was stopped being brewed. It was a Honduran blend. Laura brewed a pot for me! Laura said it was really good and if I did not mind waiting for 5 mins she would do it. I am glad I waited. The coffee was amazing. I like this particular location because of all the seating that's available outside. It's in a very busy location and you'll notice all the strange characters in the area. It's convenient because of all the food options around. If you need to stay the entire day to study then you won't be stuck eating the food served inside the Starbucks. The service was okay. I just noticed that there was a Brazilian girl inside asking the staff to check to see if she had left her credit cards behind. The cashier was helpful and asked the female manager/supervisor im guessing. It seemed like too much trouble for the manager/supervisor/staff member to just go check real quick. I mean damn, the girl is from Brazil! She needs her cards to get home! Because this location is located in west hollywood, they won't use the same plastic cup for refills or even if you just want some more ice. I know that you have made my drinks prior a handful of times and yes, I've asked for them to be redone because what I asked for was not executed. Fast and speedy service! This is my new Starbucks down the street. The only inconvenience about this Starbucks is that you have to park in their downstairs garage which is validated and free for an hour but if you want coffee fast go to one that has a drive thru. Last time I went to chase down the street and walked it to get coffee which was easy. If you are planning to spend a couple hours here it's perfect , nice and peaceful. Not too pack. Register your gift card for coupons and deals. Typically there's a coupon every week. For example 25 % off drinks, $1 off food. read more

The mall cop who was on duty at 11.30pm on 5/29/2021 was very rude to us. I was with my sister waiting for a bus which arrives in 25 minutes, I sat in one of the slabs near the fountain and the guy pretty much shoo'ed us away saying the place is closed. I come to this Starbucks frequently because of the location. It's situated in a pretty outdoor mall that includes a great boutique Target store and my favorite beauty supply, ULTA, so I often stop by pre-shopping trip for my morning non-fat latte. Sitting in a sunny spot by the window overlooking the traffic rolling by on La Brea I couldn't be happier. The biggest problem with this Starbucks is that there are a lot of homeless people in the area. There are soup kitchens nearby and West Hollywood is a safe neighborhood, even for these poor people. This Starbucks is kind of a homeless magnet. They sit in the store and outside sipping their cup of joe. I've been hit up for money more than once here while I sat by the sunny window enjoying my coffee and view. I'm sure the rather large homeless population is difficult for the staff, as they have to tactfully deal with potentially crazy people (many people living on the streets of LA suffer from mental illness.) and panhandlers while simultaneously keep paying customers happy. Personally I've never had a problem with anyone working here. There's a massive underground parking lot and street parking on La Brea. read more

Baristas here at Santa Monica and La brea are lovely. The manager however is toxic and I've seen him treat his employees poorly . Doesn't take good care of workers and has no grace. This is a busy area with problems but management should take a good look at their approach. I've made good connections with some baristas here but I don't like this store bc of the manager. My service puppy barked once because another dog was inside the store. The employee said my dog can't bark inside the store so I immediately picked him up and proceeded to get in line to order. Honestly it's a Starbucks. It's going to get busy especially around lunch and any other time people need a "pick me up." That's just something you have to deal with which is hard because we get it, you're already tired. I find this location so funny because almost quite literally there a location right above it in the Target. Anyway the staff really makes this location great. I can't believe I'm writing a review for Starbucks. I don't drink coffee. I don't like Starbucks which I firmly blame for my lack of liking coffee. It was many years ago and I got a cup of scorched coffee from Starbucks when it was the "hot, new thing." That killed any budding love for coffee I may have had. I complained to corporate and they sent me coupons to get more coffee but I never used them. It's been almost 15 years since I had Starbucks coffee. I drink tea though. And hot chocolate. But I save those moments for my beloved CBTL. Except lately, I haven't been fond of any of the locations I've been going to. Service has been very disjointed and my usual thing is never mind-blowing. So, with reluctance, I came into this Starbucks after a foray in Best Buy with the intention of not getting anything. I was just keeping friends company who don't have ongoing personal boycotts. Well, a friend offered to buy me something. And the salted caramel hot chocolate caught my eye. How bad could it be? At least it wouldn't be scorched, right? Oh wow. The counter guy was SO nice. And the barrista was friendly. Both of them chatted with me as if I'm a regular customer. They were super duper fun to talk to. My head hurts. Perhaps things have changed? I watched the guy put my salted caramel together. It was fantastic. But I love salt and caramel together. I hope Starbucks will keep this "seasonal" item on the menu forever. I may even send them this review. ... More like service with a scowl. Perhaps it was just the location and the weirdos they have to deal with all day but the staff here looked like they were ready to spit in your coffee as you watched. No one was at all attempting to be helpful, cheery etc..., it is one of the worst Starbucks experiences that I have ever had. I can usually rely on Starbucks as a place to get some work done. But this one had no where to plug in. While I did get done what I needed to get done I felt incredibly unwelcome and rushed the entire time. There were no outlets anywhere, actually I think there were 2 but they were not at all visible. Like they were trying to keep them hidden and keep people out.
