They offer outdoor dining, but that seemed to full up quickly for larger parties so my party of 5 was offered indoor dining. Seating inside was socially distanced. Short Benedict: They do not skimp at all on the short ribs. I only finished one of my benedicts because it was just that much. Eggs were poached well. The home fries could have been a bit more crispy and slightly seasoned for an elevated taste. Again, the amount was more than enough. This also comes with some fresh assorted fruit too. I was craving a eggs Benedict so I searched and it brought me to State & Fig. My girlfriend ordered a burger and we both shared each. The service was top notch! Everyone in the entire place did such a great job that I felt very welcomed and comfortable. The food used good ingredients and tasted fresh. They gave us the wrong burger though because it came with bacon and we ordered a basic one. Interesting combo to use a sweet fig sauce on the burger which wasn't the one we ordered. I doubt they make mistakes like this often though because they really do seem to care. I am glad I came here and am also glad they stayed open until 3pm. On the corner of State Street and Figuoroa is a cute little bistro named State & Fig. Well, it's actually tucked into the shops, but needless to say it's a good find and a great brunch spot. Three amigas and I met up for a post-travel meal and bottomless mimosas. They serve brunch seven days a week, according to their website. The $18 bottomless mimosas is a great deal in theory, but they're made with $3 J. Roget Brut Champagne - a slight letdown. I def rec just ordering a nicer glass of sparkling from the menu if you're only going to drink a few glasses. The food menu is what made us happy. I had the $12 pesto mushroom omelette (you can get your choice of an egg scramble or omelette) made with crimini mushrooms, baby arugula, fontina cheese, basil pesto, toast, and fruit. My husband and I had our wedding reception at State and Fig and it was the best decision we have ever made! We had our ceremony at the courthouse (which we also recommend) and then walked over to State and Fig for our cocktail hour and dinner. When I walked into the restaurant and saw my vision come to life, I almost cried. It was the most beautiful and magical night all thanks to Serina, Patrick, and the rest of the staff! I have sooo many amazing things I can say about this place, the staff, and the food. Serina is wonderful! She answered all of my questions through email at all times of the day/night. Her and Patrick made all of my wishes and vision possible! Any ideas I threw at them, they were excited to make happen for us. We had 25 guests and did a one hour passed tray cocktail hour. The hors d'oeuvres were outstanding!!! We chose the crab cakes, steak skewers, and burrata toast (still dreaming about these!!!) and everyone LOVED all of it. We also chose to do the drink package which included beer, wine, champagne, soda, tea, coffee, juices and it was perfect! The drinks were good and they kept the bar flowing smoothly all night. Now for the dinner. I was shocked by the food! I knew the quality was going to be amazing but the portions were huuuuge!!! We started with a classic house salad and the entrees we chose were salmon, chicken, and short ribs. Everyone raved about the food all night. It was sooooo good. Then to close out our dinner we had their chocolate cake. The entire process from start to finish was so easy. Serina and Patrick were so responsive and accommodating of changes even on the day of our event! They allowed us to come to the restaurant the day before and set up a mock up table and leave our decor with them so they could replicate our vision the next day. We got to play our own music and even had a grand entrance and space for our first dance. It was such a perfect night! We will be recommending State and Fig to everyone forever! What an adorable spot for brunch! Right in the middle of State St. this is in the La Arcada plaza which also has super cute stores to explore while you're here. We came on a Saturday at about 1pm and it was not crowded at all. We were seated right away at a table in the outside seating area which was exactly what I had hoped for so that we could enjoy the beautiful Santa Barbara weather. -Fig burger - Holy smokes, this was totally delicious!! 5 stars for this! I really wanted to try something with fig given the name of the restaurant so I opted for the burger. There was the perfect amount of fig jam spread on the bun such that I tasted the hint of sweetness in every bite but that it didn't overpower the burger. The bacon and caramelized onions also added a lot to the burger! Of note, I opted to get the burger without the bleu cheese as it's not really my favorite cheese. -Short rib benedict - Exactly what I imagined. Short rib was tasty, soft, and tender. I thought that there was too much hollandaise for me drenched over the benedict and that it was quite oily but all in all, still enjoyed it. The poached eggs were perfect. Home fries on the side was not crispy enough on the outside nor seasoned enough which I was sad about. 3.5 stars for this dish and not sure if it's worth the $18.5. I will most definitely want to return here and try some other dishes if I get a chance to come back to Santa Barbara! read more

My made a quick stop here for lunch on our way through town. Note they currently have limited menu and hours due to staffing but worth the stop if you can fit it in. The vegetarian options were limited but I had a delicious kale Caesar salad. The server was nice and the food and drinks came out quickly. I think like most people, we found this place by looking up "bottomless mimosas" and we were not disappointed! These mimosas will hit you like a mac truck as 85% of the glass is filled with champagne (as it should be). The food was fantastic and service was great. I love brunch! To me, breakfast foods and a little day drinking with friends is the epitome of a relaxing day off. State and fig is a good spot to do just that. The outside has the more desirable seating but the interior is not bad either if you don't feel like waiting. I was perfectly happy with my Benedict. It was tasty and well prepared. I only wish I got more house potatoes as there were very few- about 1/3 of what other places usually serve. Our server was attentive and readily refilled the bottomless mimosas (which you too can have for $17 with purchase of a meal). Honestly don't understand why this place is 4 stars because it is the worst brunch place I've ever been to. I'm from San Francisco so I'm used to trying various brunch places, and this was just not it. I ordered the fig burger with garlic fries and it was a pretty decent burger. Didn't like the blue cheese but that's my fault for ordering it. The fries had a strange aftertaste and didn't taste like garlic. The herbs they seasoned it with gave off a bad taste too. I also tried the short ribs Benedict from my friend and it was horrible. Extremely salty and tasted like corned beef. The whites in one of her eggs weren't cooked and was inedible. Not worth it for $23 which is extremely overpriced for something of such poor quality. My other friend got a mango iced tea and it tasted like dirty water. I don't really understand how you could mess up iced tea but she couldn't even drink it and had to request another drink. Also they refused to seat us when 2/5 members of our party were running late when the restaurant was half empty. Just overall nothing good about this place. read more

Flavor was something I could have made at home. Same for the salad. It was a very small portion of salad greens. I also ordered the Sausage Kale soup. We were driving back through after visiting Solvang and needed a place for a late lunch. We also needed a place that would do decent take away. So, we chose this location based off previous reviews. There were 4 of us in our group and we were all starving. Server was helpful when taking our order and gave us a pick up time. We chose a burger and fries, chicken sandwich, and a huge main course salad (we also chose sodas and sparkling waters to go.) While we waited we were able to walk around the area and take in a few local sights and do some people watching. Picked up the food from another fabulous sever when promised and headed over to a nearby park to eat. Everything was packaged up so neatly, even the drinks! Burger was fantastic - one of my all time favorites with the fig and cheese combo. All our choices really were very good and were easy to eat and enjoy on the go. This spot is too mediocre for it's own damn good. Upscale hospital food. Look. I understand that you're in Santa Barbara and everyone lives a rich healthy lifestyle, but with all due respect, if you're gonna have burgers and fries on the menu, you've already lost the battle on "healthy", so why don't you just go the fuck all out and flex your muscles! Show us what you can do! The meat was too dry and lean. Needed a better ratio of lean meat/fat cause it was dry as hell. I can respect the idea of grassfed beef, but sometimes it's just too lean and makes for a rather uninspired burger. And those boring ass fries, although fresh, were only sprinkled with sea salt. Shit. I was so disappointed. I was looking forward to a juicy gourmet burger and gourmet truffle fries, garlic fries, something. They played it too safe. And my friend's omelette...the only exciting thing was the goat cheese. Nothing else. No complex flavors. No new spin on an omelette. No truffle. No rosemary. No balsamic. Nada. And the rest was straightforward dry toast, fruit, etc. Ugh. God. Where's the inspiration? Don't they teach you how to spice things up in culinary school? We had a wonderful experience at State and Fig and was so happy we chose this restaurant to have a birthday celebration! We came for BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS on a Sunday and were able to find a table. You will need your whole party there to be seated. Our server Tracy was so absolutely attentive to our table, even when the restaurant was busy. She was always around to fill our waters, our mimosas and made sure we had everything we needed. The mimosas were great and did the trick to keep our party going. They are decently priced at $17 for the specialty flavored bottomless mimosas (mango, pomegranate). I ordered the short rib benedict and it was delicious. The prime rib was so tender and the pesto hollandaise was delectable. This is such a great spot as it's located in La Arcada and such cute decor inside. State & Fig is a great place for lunch, tucked in a small walkway of different shops/restaurants. I came for a late lunch on a Monday around 3pm and pretty much had the whole place to myself. I had a portebello mushroom panini and couple bites of the fig burger. The portebello mushroom panini included a generous amount of red bell peppers. The bread had a touch of pesto sauce and it all melted nicely together with provolone cheese. This also came with a side of arugula salad. I loved how they put the vinaigrette dressing on the side. I had a few bites of the burger and it was just ok. I did enjoy the fries that came with, lightly crunchy and not overly salty. Service was ok, can't complain, prices were fair. Had high hopes for this restaurant from the reviews. Came for dinner to find out they were closed without updating their storefront signs, Yelp, voicemail, or hours on google. So came back again the next day for brunch. Got the state burger with fries. State burger- the inner edges of the bun and meat patty were burnt black. Would've tasted good if the burnt taste wasn't so BITTER (had to spit out my chewed up ood from the bitterness) and distracting from the dish. Fries- good and crispy. Also some fries were burnt at the ends (understandable since most restaurants have it). The burnt parts were easier to remove than the saucy burger patty and buns. After 4 years I was able to find my way back to this amazing restaurant. The fam decided we needed a quick weekend getaway, so off to Santa Barbara we went! My one must stop place to eat was State and Fig. I'm am sooooo glad this place has been able to stay in business during covid!!! We were kindly greeted by a young gentleman who gave us a menu and told us to go inside to the counter when we were ready to order and then we would be seated outside afterwards. I ordered the French Toast stuffed fig cream cheese. OMG it was so good. The toast had a nice crunch to it, and then when you hit the cream cheese filling...IT'S HEAVEN. With big smiles and full bellies we went off on our day.
