Cake Cutting - Red Velvet Cake by Serina
    Annita M.

I hosted my reception for 25 people at State & Fig on 6/12/2025. I first sent out an inquiry to State & Fig and started speaking to Serina in January 2025. I then spent the following months having many back and forth emails with Serina regarding my event. She was incredibly helpful, thoughtful, detail-oriented, and friendly. I can't highlight enough how incredible Serina was to work with. She was willing to listen to any questions, decoration ideas, or concerns that I had. I have no question that if it wasn't for her, my reception wouldn't have turned out as dreamy as it did. She helped me make my dreams come alive. I used some of the decoration they provided and brought some of my own - just to make it more confusing! Haha The State & Fig team was incredible on the day of my event - always attentive and helpful to my guests. My wedding cake was also done by Serina. It was a red velvet cake, and it was one of the best cakes I've ever had in my life! I still dream about having another bite I'd absolutely have my reception at State & Fig again, and I hope I can work with Serina again in the future! Thank you so much to State & Fig (and specially Serina) for the incredible experience!

We recently hosted a rehearsal dinner at State & Fig. Serina made planning from across the country so easy. She and Patrick were so flexible and accommodated our dietary needs and last minute changes so graciously. Serina and her team set up all of our decor and totally captured the vision I had. They had cold waters and chilled wines ready upon arrival as the weather had been quite warm for our rehearsal. So thoughtful! The arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette, goat cheese, pistachios and peaches was FANTASTIC! The scallops and the bistecca were excellent as well. Everyone raved about the food, the service, and the setting. The cocktail hour out on the patio was a great way to welcome our guests, and the high ceilings and windows inside really made the space feel elegant in the candlelight - the setting was perfect. I highly recommend hosting your event at State & Fig!

Updated with professional photos at State and Fig! Still in awe of our quaint little reception with a small group of family. Love everything about this day and I have Serina and team to thank!

I highly recommend State & Fig in Santa Barbara if you are looking for a charming venue for an intimate wedding reception, a party, or any special occasion get-together. You can go to www.stateandfig.com and complete their contact form to get in touch with the most amazing manager, Serina, who will work with you on the planning and then coordinate with her team to execute the plan flawlessly. My daughter decided to have her wedding ceremony at the Santa Barbara courthouse. I helped her plan the wedding dinner/reception and ended up choosing State & Fig as the venue because of the great reviews about the food and other successful receptions held there, the convenient location, and, of course, Serina. During the planning, Serina and I exchanged multiple emails, and she was super responsive to my many (many, many) questions and requests. Her responses were always informative, helpful and kind. I was so grateful for her help. The reception turned out just beautiful! The bride and groom were very happy. Family and friends were impressed with the lovely restaurant, the friendly and attentive service by the staff, the delicious food, the beautiful wedding cake. Not one negative comment about anything! We had such a wonderful time! Thank you, Serina and the State & Fig staff, for the amazing work you did for my daughter's wedding reception.

Love this brunch place! The service is always so friendly! The outdoor seating is beautiful with vibrant flowers. Their non alcoholic Arnold palmers are a great choice apart from their bottomless mimosas!

I hosted my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was AMAZING! I worked with Serina to rent out the restaurant for the evening and plan the whole event and she was excellent. Throughout the entire process, she was informative, communicative, and so easy to work with. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was exceptional - all the guests were super impressed by the quality and quantity of the food, and service was excellent! We loved the customizable menu and all the personalized touches! I will definitely be back soon! THANK YOU STATE & FIG, and especially Serina!!!

I recently had my baby shower(high tea) here at State & Fig and I couldn't have been more happy with this choice! All of my family and friends who attended are still talking about it. The food, the service and location was great! I loved that we had the space all to ourselves. Serina was so responsive and accommodating during the planning process and the food was delicious! Patrick(the owner), Serina and her team went above and beyond on the day of and made the whole experience so wonderful. As an event planner myself it was nice to have a team who I could trust to help create and produce my vision. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for your next private event or meal. Thanks again team State & Fig! Photos: Amber Dolyak Photography

Service is always wonderful!! Charming patio seating (inside seating too)!! And I overhear people being very pleased with their food (lots of salad orders). Unfortunately, the same sandwich I always get has changed over the years and it just gets worse. "The bird," use to have a light smear of aioli, the chicken was fried in a light airy batter, never greasy. And the Cole slaw was a fresh, light, vinaigrette based slaw with green apples and green cabbage. IT WAS SO GOOD!!! Light and fresh. Never greasy. My sandwich was a heavy greasy batter and soggy from being drenched with some sauce that seemed like spicy ranch? Also heavy in taste. Very messy! The slaw is just a bunch of red cabbage. Not even close to the sandwich it use to be. Hopefully they bring it back to the unique, special sandwich it use to be.

We celebrated our wedding reception here, and it was magical! The staff made sure every detail was perfect, from the beautifully decorated table to my seating chart. I want to thank Serina, for going above and beyond! From personalized menu recommendations to checking in at the perfect moments, Serina you're Amazing ! The service is unmatched. Serina always answered all my emails in a timely manner. The staff was attentive, ensuring everything was perfect. This restaurant is a hidden gem for special occasions. The elegant decor and peaceful vibe made our celebration even more memorable! Beyond thankful! Words cannot describe or express how much gratitude I have towards the whole team. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you Patrick! the food and service quality was truly exceptional, Some of the best food I've had recently! The freshness of the ingredients and the unique flavors were unforgettable. :)

Really great brunch spot!! The staff were awesome, the location is in this cute little court area and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the service is extremely quick (on an early Saturday afternoon no less)! I definitely suggest coming here with someone and splitting something sweet and something savory; the Figg'in French Toast was absolutely delicious but was so sweet that I definitely would've gotten a toothache if I hadn't had half a burger to bounce off of. It was filled with the creamiest of cream cheese spreads, and was honestly just mouthwatering otherwise. The burger was also really good; it had an entire breakfast buffet in it, stuffed with sausage and bacon and egg on a brioche bun. Super tasty. And the potatoes that came on the side were extremely soft and well-flavored, although maybe a bit dry. The sides of fruit were ripe and tasty, and the orange juice I ordered was sweet and refreshing. Thank you State and Fig!

The exterior tables (with marble tops) and chairs were beautiful and I was surprised that they were being used as outdoor tables because I am sure the elements with weather them down fast. The surrounding area is gorgeous with lots of tall trees. The bad: The mint latte could've used a little more mint flavor. I tried the biscuit and egg sandwich as well as the Dijon mustard toast with ham. I thought both were subpar to what I was expecting. The bread slice was thick, the ham was cold, and it could've used more of a spread or sauce. The biscuit tasted microwaved. The drinks came in beautiful orange glasses but I think it made the volume slightly smaller. The interesting: The bathroom is outside of the coffee shop but is very clean and nice.
