Food wasn't bad! I got the Reuben sandwich and really enjoyed it. The fries could've used a little more time in the oil, but I asked if they could make my second order extra crispy and they did, so I appreciated that. It's food at a golf course, so my expectations weren't through the roof, but overall it was a solid meal. The best part is definitely the ambiance. I got rained in to come in to eat while riding my bike around. It's pretty funny that all the golfers came inside to have lunch also. The cashier was very friendly and helped me make sure that the meal was gluten-free and even changed out the dressing to a vinaigrette (and I added chicken). I barely could finish the thing it was so much. I was able to look outside and just enjoy watching nature get rained on. read more

If there's one thing I love more than golf, it's golf course food. So naturally after our round, we headed straight to the restaurant for lunch. There's no servers, so you'll order at the register and they'll give you a buzzer to call you when your food is ready. I ordered a turkey burger and fries, which honestly was not very good. It felt like the turkey patty was from frozen and cooked to order, but that patty was like a thicker air hockey puck. I had a bite of my friend's burger and that was much better. The fries were tasty, solid fries for sure. I split my order with my SO and she got the chicken Caesar wrap, which the half I ate had mostly croutons and not much chicken. I think the ratio here could use work, but another suggestion would be to grill/toast the wrap. We also got an order of Korean fries, and that I don't think I'd get again unless they add some kinda protein to it. While I wasn't super impressed by the food, at least it's reasonably priced. I think $13-17 for most of the sandwiches and burgers is reasonable given the area. read more

We went to a Christmas party here. They let you setup a hour before with your personal decorations. They have the tables, chairs, table clothes, plates, etc... setup ahead of time. Make sure you find out all the miscellaneous fees and charges before you sign up. We had a buffet with chicken Marsala & salmon teriyaki, mixed & Caesar salad, ranch & balsamic dressing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls, spinach & cheese tortellini. Food was great when they brought it in hot. It was a bit dry when people had seconds. Someone was very unhappy and said the mashed potatoes were from a box. Dessert was a super whipped chocolate mousse that was a hit with some people. They did provide boxes for leftovers. There was a beverage station of iced tea & lemonade and hot coffee & hot water for tea at the table. It was pretty spacious in our room. We had an enjoyable time. We were able to move around, talk, and have a glass of wine. Seating was not crowded with ten to a table. They do not have anyone greet you as you come in. We typically default to the Chinese chicken salad, a giant hamburger with fries(crispy and fresh like bowling alley fries) and a chicken quesadilla(salsa is mild and good, even if it's not made in house). The staff are always helpful, welcoming, and the indoor / outdoor eating areas are clean and well appointed. Just good casual eating. Recommended. read more

So we ordered pastrami sandwich and chicken Cobb salad. The sandwich was good but the salad lacked dressing and was missing one important ingredient- boiled egg!!! and they never bothered to make any more or tell us about it. Considering how long our food took, they could've boiled one egg or asked us if we wanted something else instead. Halfway through our game we stopped to get a cold drink and the place was closed. Nothing in the carts board says anything about the restaurant hours (they only had deals on food posted so it makes you think that food and drinks are available). Unfortunate Experience :-( We have been here so many times over the last few years. And this place has such an amazing view and relaxed vibe outside with golf course and pond. Unfortunately, based on my experience today, this is hardly what you'd expect from a restaurant. It took 45 minutes to receive a simple order (sweet potato fries, a salad, a breakfast sandwich, and avocado toast) during a normal lunch hour. The restaurant was only about 30% full with no line, so it wasn't busy. When we asked about the delay multiple times, the staff seemed to care but didn't appear to know what was going on. No one acknowledged that we had already been waiting over 30 minutes, and it still took another 15-20 minutes for the rest of our food to arrive. The larger issue seemed to be a lack of management oversight. While the staff was calm and trying, they appeared undertrained and unsupported, and the manager was either not present or unaware of how poorly service was running. Several other patrons also received incorrect orders, and it seemed like nearly every table was experiencing delays or issues. I don't normally leave such long reviews, but at this price point and for this type of venue, you expect basic cleanliness, service, and food quality. The tables were dirty, the water pitchers were empty, and the food did not justify the cost. The egg sandwich was overcooked and chewy, and the avocado toast wasn't even toasted, the chicken salad was below par from what you'd buy from a premade bag from the grocery store. My club has monthly luncheons at Michael's and we love it. The service is great, the food is delicious, and there's gobs of free parking. They also have in-house overhead projector and screens and are happy to provide podium and microphones. What more could you ask for? read more

This review is for a private event. We held a baby shower in the restaurant for ~30 people and had a terrific experience overall. Adrienne in the sales/marketing department was absolutely lovely to work with and super responsive; this was particularly helpful since I was planning the shower from out of town. It was easy to finalize everything ahead of time, and the staff on the day of the event was superb. We had several appetizers, including jumbo shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, a platter of grilled veggies and a charcuterie board; everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We even had access to the patio to enjoy the gorgeous view. I would highly recommend Michael's at Shoreline for anyone looking for a private event space. read more

We were looking for a venue to host our wedding reception (we got married elsewhere) - and luckily stumbled upon Michael's Restaurant. We had 80 guests - the food was amazing especially when you consider the size of our group! I had multiple people comment on how impressed they were with how the steak and chicken tasted. Also had multiple people comment on how much they loved the venue, the venue itself is very nice with an outdoor patio and a view of water/golf course. Adrienne and Sam did an amazing job organizing everything, replied promptly to our many questions the months beforehand. Adrienne and Jose were super helpful day of. Plenty of parking. I come to Michael's on an occasional basis, and I think it shines for the ambiance. The food is okay, but it's really about the location. I appreciate that you order at the front and then they give you a buzzer that rings when your food is prepared, so you can go pick it up. Prices are pretty reasonable, and portions are pretty good. The staff was kind, and I appreciated how one staff member helped me bring my group's order out to the patio. Today I had the crispy chicken sandwich, which has coleslaw inside and comes with a side of fries. It was tasty, but the coleslaw made the sandwich a little soggy and the chicken was a bit dry. However, the fries were amazingly plush and hot. Still, I might go back to my usual lunch order, the Chinese chicken salad, for next time. And order a separate plate of fries! The patio is fun -- it's great for watching birds and the golfers with their funny remote control golf caddies. The refreshing breeze and views of Shoreline golf course are always nice too. Great ambiance. Food I had eggs benedict with a side of bacon (no beer for me). The flavors were all there, bacon perfectly cooked, and this also had Canadian bacon. Everyone had very large portions for their order (even salad seemed like a large size, even for a half order). Ambiance The location is great and you can watch folks golfing in the distance. A good place to go to after hiking/walking around the shoreline trail. This place is popular and the wait is only really long since there's so many people that come here on the weekends when they are doing various activities from canoeing, hiking, biking etc. Def the go-to place post-activity with a nice outdoor seating. What happened? We have gone to Micheals over the years and always found great food quality in lovely surroundings. This trip was so disappointing. The staff was cordial but not very experienced. They seem to do great with hot dogs and hamburgers, and fries. In the past we had enjoyed a varied menu with creative choices. Looking on the site we saw all kinds of wonderful lunch items that were not available the day we were there. We also remember when you could get your own drink refills. I ordered an Arne Palmer with my lunch and even that was disappointing-too watery. There was a special event going on the day we were there. That might explain why the lunch team was not the most experienced. read more

Booked the venue for an event of 170. Great food, great location, parking, great scenery. It's dance floor is kinda small and the room is sort of shaped like an L. So half of your guests are one side and the rest on the other, and they do not have a view of each other. The dance floor is at the point of the L. Only thing is that the gates to enter the shoreline park kept on closing on guests trying to enter and leave, so we had to deal with a lot of "the gate is locked so and so can't get in" we had no control over it and there was no one available to solve the problem so I just kept shrugging my shoulders and told guests that I had no control over it. Price wise, that's really up to you and your wallet, the food is really good, helpful and attentive wait staff, the location is pretty and my family has had two other events here and I was too lazy to shop around. read more

An adorable patio with views of a golf course. Very affordably priced food that is tasty. My chicken sandwich with coleslaw was delicious. Others had the cheesebuger, the salad, and the special chicken barbecue. The servers are hustling and friendly. The line can get long during lunch on the weekends and it takes a bit to get the food, so order a drink while you wait. Brunch here is also delicious. We booked Michael's at Shoreline for a small wedding ceremony and reception which turned out to be a great experience. The restaurant is located at Shoreline Golf Links with a lovely view of the golf course and free parking directly in front. Whitney Katsanes, Event Coordinator, is experienced and very helpful making your vision a reality. There are several wedding/event packages offered that can be customized and are reasonably priced. The food is good and staff are polite and helpful. In summary, if you are looking for a smaller reasonably priced event venue, Michael's is worth a visit. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon after a 20 mile run, this place wasn't super packed but it was nice to be able to sit outside and cool off after the longest run of my life! Food: I got the joes scramble and also tried the Denver omelette and I definitely liked the Denver better since the cheese added a nice flavor to the entire dish! I thought the joes scramble was a bit plain. The bread that comes with the dishes is good too! Service: You pretty much just serve yourself and it's very much a counter side service. Ambiance: Pretty nice to look out and see the golf course along shoreline and the google campus! Not too special of a sight though. Overall, decent diner type food though nothing too special but good if you're in the area and need fuel like me! read more

I visited this restaurant with a few friends for lunch. At best, they are a 3 star place. This restaurant is right next to a golf course called Shoreline Golf Links in Mountain View. It isn't difficult to get to this location. It's off of hwy 101 and you just keep driving, where it really does seem like the road never ends (haha), but you can't get lost if you follow the signs for Michael's. Once you arrive, you'll need to compete a bit for parking with golfers and others looking to hang out or also eat at the restaurant. Lastly, there are many ways to enter the restaurant. Through the front, the side, or the back. This was slightly confusing when trying to find my friends when we met together, as "meet in the front" might have been at the parking lot or by the registers inside. This restaurant is cafeteria style. You line up, order at the counter, and get a buzzer to indicate when your food is ready for pick up. You get your own drinks, silverware, condiments, and napkins. The food is very American: burgers, fries, sandwiches, hot dogs, etc. I went with a crispy chicken sandwich. It was $15 and though it was crispy and delicious (especially with chipotle aioli - my favorite!), the ratio of chicken to the entire sandwich was very wrong. Very hilariously wrong. The chicken piece itself was so large it was difficult to eat and maneuver with the normal sized bun. Though it has a pleasant view of the golf course, the waters, and structures like a small bridge, it was still just OK. The chairs and tables outside don't get wiped down and were covered in spider webs, debris, or bird droppings. It wasn't impossible to clean up, but a pain. And the food leaves much to be desired. It's not bad, but it's just okay. If you're in the area, already golfing here, then sure try this place out. I think this is more of a restaurant for conferences or out of convenience than a place to go out of your way to have lunch. read more

Breading hard. Chicken completely dried out. My friend had the Ruben that looked inedible. Thin charred meat on hard-as-a-brick bread. Staff seems confused and out of sorts. I attended an event there on Feb 6. The same event has been having their annual lunch/meeting there for several years. This year was very different. Staff was almost non existent. The buffet was OK but not something to write home about. We were supposed to get dessert with lunch and the coordinator had to go check on why we hadn't received it. After a while they brought out something that was obviously just thrown together. It looked like and tasted line they mixed Cool Whip with a little cocoa to make it look very light brown. When asked what it was, they said mousse. There is no way it came close to mousse. I think they thought these people are elderly and won't notice the difference. I hope a different place is picked for next years Lunch/Meeting. read more

Our meat eaters, vegetarians & pescatarians always say they love the food. They are responsive to feedback and requests to handle our events in a particular way.
