Gave this place a try on the recommendation of several girls from my hair salon who absolutely raved about it! They were not wrong! Location: It's a quaint place that was a little difficult to find. If you're trying to find it from Acacia Ave, it's behind the parking lot that's designated for Station Sushi and the Med Spa. From the lot, all you'll see is the back of the restaurant building. There's no signage that indicates that it's a restaurant, as far as I could see. But have faith and walk up to the front! Service: I walked in on a fairly busy Thursday evening and was still seated right away. My food (two house rolls) came out within 15 mins. Staff were attentive and friendly. No complaints here! They also have a drive thru window which I thought was super convenient and unique for a sushi place. Food: Delish! I got the Manhattan Roll and the Sashimi Roll. Both were yummy, though I preferred the sashimi roll since it's not always easy to find riceless rolls. Fish was fresh and the ponzu sauce for the sashimi roll was a great pairing. Wish I lived closer cuz if I did, I'd easily become a regular!

Not bad of a spot! Made a last minute decision to eat out after watching a show and this place was open. There was a line, so I thought it must be good and gave it a try. Food - Pretty good! Their options are pretty basic and they have the standards. It's like going to almost any other good Western-sushi spot (with all the toppings and whatnot). Their rolls are huge too! Just 1 or 2 hit the spot and got me really full. Service - Very nice and attentive. The guy was willing to help with any questions and helped seat us at the patio. No complaints! Ambiance - quaint spot with outdoor seating, which was helpful. Pretty sure they're dog-friendly because they just have a covered patio. They seemed pretty busy for late Friday night, which was a good sign. And they're right next to Pizza Port. Crowd was good, a lot of couples on dates, but very chill ambiance. Would go again if I was craving sushi and happened to be in the area again. I know there's a lot of sushi options so it doesn't stand out TOO much.

Location- it's a cute tucked spot with parish right in front in a nice shopping area. Food- the food was flavored and I love how the menu had pictures to it lol I have always loved a menu with pictures. The rolls I ordered were so big. I ordered 4 but with just one was enough. Now I can take it to go Service- the waitress was very kind and sweet with helping us find items on the menu. Support small businesses!! I will definitely come back here when I'm back in town. Seems like the locals love the people here. Overall this was a nice experience and I definitely will come back to this cute location.

Station Sushi in Solana Beach is a great place for casual sushi. They have a wide assortment of sushi, rolls, entrees, bowls and noodle soups. On this visit we ordered the following selections: Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna - 4 pieces. Great portion. At least 3-4 bites to finish one. Generous amount of spicy tuna piled on a rectangle bed of crispy rice. Very good and I would order this again. Yellowtail Jalapeno Roll - Spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado outer with Yellowtail, jalapeno, soy mustard. So good with the Jalapeno on top for a bit spice. Yellowtail was fresh and so flavorful. Rainbow Roll - California roll inside with outer tuna, salmon and avocado. Such a delightful and tasty roll. Sashimi - 3 pcs each of tuna, salmon and yellowtail. All three sashimi were fresh and delicious. Very satisfied with all the selections on this visit and would order everything again. Service was great from being seated promptly to getting our food. Parking is available either street or their lot in the back. I would definitely come back for casual sushi as their quality and prices are great.

    California Roll

Went here last Friday. Was a little unclear when we were getting seated but we sat down pretty quickly. The guy behind the counter ended up taking our order and our server came to us only after about 15-20 minutes. We got 2 California rolls and they were delicious and not very expensive. Our servers were very nice and helpful, but had issues with organization. It's a great ambiance in the restaurant and a fun time.

Big Portions. Fast Service. Friendly Staff. Clean Environment. I really can't complain. My food was terrific. My husband didn't complain about his food either. The sushi chef was super friggin' nice and accommodating. My only "complaint" is that the salmon skin was so minced up... And I'm the type to like it in strips. But every sushi restaurant is different so I can't REALLY fault them for that. I'd totally eat here again.

My friend and I stopped by here after wine at Carruth. We we're creating some sushi and run luck to find the spot! There's plenty of seating in the service was superintendent. We ordered a few rules to share and garlic edamame?. My favorite role is definitely Ford Roll, which our service also recommended. They do have seating at their sushi bar but plenty of seating on there heated covered patio. If you're looking for some casual Sushi this is a great place to stop by.

Spicy scallop hand roll, tuna nachos

Went for happy hour so rated for happy hour prices, really average sushi overall. The tuna nachos, salmon nigiri, and fantasy roll were the favorites! Garlic edamame also very good! They did forget to bring our nigiri so had to remind them.

I wonder if this is a location on eBird. Yes, I am a dork. I came here years ago while on a business trip and randomly found this place and loved it here. So when a date suggested we come here, I took a look at the venue and remembered what an awesome brewery this is! Date gets some brownie points for chosing this spot, maybe this could go somewhere haha. Parking is a situation here. But if you go past the restaurant, there is some parking on the road and in small lot meant for those enjoying nature. I felt bad taking one of these spots. There is paid public parking on the corner before the restaurant and valet is available at this brewery. I need to figure out another way to get here... On a Sunday afternoon, place had people but it wasnt mobbed. Baseball game and Del Mar horse races were showing on the TVs. But, don't come here to watch TV, look outside! I saw some very good bird action, including an egret doing some weird strutting in the lush greenery. I am bummed I forgot to bring my binoculars but I will be back here again soon with binocs ready! I started off with a hefeweisen and that was good, date had a Mexican lager x 2. I had the ceviche (pretty good) and had the aioli on the side. Date had a sandwich of some kind and copious amounts of fries. It took a lot of will power for me to not have any of those fries, they looked so yummy! I also had a watermelon beer, this had hints of watermelon flavor and I enjoyed it. Great spot for large groups too as there were a few large parties sitting in the "outside" space. Hostess initially asked if we wanted to sit "inside" or "outside," and I was confused as it all looked like outside to me haha. I guess this is SoCal, everything is open air. This is a nice spot to have convo, very spacious, lots of nice tables, we sat at a high top. I love perching higher up, kinda of like a bird haha! Waitresses here were all very good, some very cute too (eye candy is always appreciated). Overall, a really fun way to spend a Sunday summer afternoon! I'll be back!

The restaurant is really loud when crowded and you can only talk to the person right next to you, but that worked ok in a group of 7 anyway--we just had multiple mini conversations. If you're planning a large group gathering, you might have to play musical chairs to catch up with everyone, unless everyone has naturally loud voices that carry. Most of the people in our group ordered beers, but I ordered a nonalcoholic prickly pear hibiscus ginger beer which was ok--pretty subtle, but it quenches the thirst all the same. I ordered the Farmer's burger (black bean) with added avocado and a side salad which comes with a lemon vinaigrette. I had to eat it with a knife and fork after removing the top bun. Very tasty. My daughter ordered crispy shrimp tacos which she really enjoyed. Most people ordered the backyard burger which looked pretty good--choice of fries or side salad. Freddy our server was friendly and helpful. Overall a good dining experience!

White beans and artichoke dip had a hummus-like texture and was nice and bright spread on charred toast. The winner was the gnocchi. They had a perfect pillowy texture and were complemented with a carrot puree, summer squash (tiny spheres that added sweetness and texture), and nuts. The ambience of the place is cozy, modern, and eclectic with its tree like lamps and greenery throughout. The bar is located in the middle of SkyDeck,, so you can order from the many different surrounding restaurants straight from the app, which they'll serve to you at the table. Understory is known for their specialty cocktails with their full bar, that's hard to miss as soon as you walk in. Of course, I had to get the drink in the ceramic elephant. Not only was it decked out with a flower, dried fruit, fruits, and mint leaves looking fabulous, it also tasted amazing and it was pretty strong, which I liked. All of us at the table ordered a drink, and everyone seem to love theirs. Got the taste of the blue moon, which had a unique flavor that I loved. All the drinks were beautiful. Since Understory is a bar, their tables are round and small, so when we ordered food from their neighboring restaurants, the table was a bit small, and we had to get creative on where to place everything. The tables are also far from the seats, so it was a bit of a challenge to eat our meals. The place is definitely one to visit, but what I would recommend, if you're wanting a full dinner, is to get your drinks at Understory, to enjoy the ambience and appreciate the creative craft cocktails, then switch to the restaurant you'd like to eat at, where the tables are designed to accommodate the space you need for a full meal.

I recently visited Solana Beach Kitchen and honestly had such a great experience that I had to…read moreshare. From the moment we arrived, the service really stood out. The manager, Andrea, along with Tara, took amazing care of me and my friends. They were attentive without being overbearing, super friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome the whole time, which is something you don't always get. I ordered an Aperol Spritz, (if you ever ordered, please get it with campari. we also got a margarita, both were perfectly made. The spritz was refreshing and well-balanced, and the margarita was just as good, not too sweet and really smooth. Definitely a great start to the night. The food was just as impressive. Everything came out surprisingly fast, especially considering how good it was. You can tell there's real attention to quality and flavor. The ambiance is another highlight. It has this relaxed, chill vibe but still feels put together and a little bit "cute" in the best way. It's the kind of place that works perfectly whether you're going on a date, catching up with friends, or just want a nice casual dinner without it feeling basic. Overall, great service, delicious food, quick turnaround, and a really enjoyable atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back

I had to remind the waitress I hadn't gotten my drink and had to ask for the check at the end. The food was just okay. I got the Hot Chick chicken sandwich and my friend got the classic burger and we split them. Neither had much flavor, which really surprised me with the chicken sandwich as it's supposed to be Cajun spiced. We both paid the extra $4 to change the fries to truffle fries. That had the most flavor of anything.
