    Went to Station X to get red ghost roots done and I was more than happy with the result. The salon itself is very nice and has a positive vibe so for the hours I was there it went by like nothing. Victoria did my hair for me and she went above and beyond and actually exceeded my expectations for what I thought my hair would look like. I've never dyed my hair before so I was a little nervous for how it'd turned out but it came out looking much better than what I was expecting.

    I have been booking haircuts with Lu (@looks.bylu in instagram) for over a year now and they are AMAZING. They know how to give me the perfect androgynous haircut every time that not only looks good day 1, but grows out extremely well. They are so kind and warm; I really look forward to my appointments! Highly recommend booking with Lu. Overall, great vibes in the salon and good location as well.

    TLDR; lovely salon (5 star), but I cannot recommend Jessica after my experience. I was charged $475 for the worst highlights I have ever gotten and a subpar cut; both were truly horrible the first time around and only the haircut was better after the correction. I paid heftily and was absolutely dissatisfied with my results. Photo with my hair bright blond was my reference, 2 photos with unnatural highlights is what I first got without the correction (I was horrified), and the last photo is what my hair looks like now, absolutely not what I asked for. I preface this review as it is only my reflection of getting a blonding service from Jessica. The salon was beautiful, clean, and the other ladies were really kind and lovely. I saw Jessica twice, once for my appointment, and a second time for a correction. At my first appointment, I was excited to bring my hair the brightness it used to have and showed Jessica a photo of myself, with my hair looking like I wanted it to. Jessica assured me she can do that and began working. I had called the salons days prior to move my appointment to an earlier time because I had a time restraint, which meant I had to leave the salon 3 hours after my appointment. I was reassured this will be enough time on the phone and also by Jessica in person. Jessica let me know she will be doing half highlights to reach my desired result in the time constraint and I agreed. She then began the service. There were no issues during the service initially, but when it came time to allow my hair to lift, Jessica asked me when I would have to leave. I re-iterated the time to her and she said we may not be able to get as bright as I wanted to. I was alarmed. I certainly did not want to impact the service by the time constraint and was previously assured I would not. I asked her to skip the haircut and even drying so that the color can be perfect. She said, oh actually the hair is lifted and then remove the foils and washed my hair. I was a bit alarmed but decided to move forward. As she dried my hair, I began to see that my hair was no where near the color I had asked. Then, Jessica informed me she actually went with full highlights instead of half highlights as we previously agreed. I was a bit frustrated because I would have preferred that she focused on making my pieces brighter in the time we had. This was the first time I felt Jessica was concerned about increasing service cost. Earlier in the session, when Jessica asked about whether I wanted a haircut, I said that I just wanted a few face framing pieces. Fast forward to now near the end of my service, Jessica cut these pieces in what I promise was no longer than 2 minutes. Then, Jessica said "and I will cut an inch of the back?" I agreed. This must have been the quickest haircut of my life. It lasted at most, 5 minutes. COST: the website for this salon advertises 200+ for highlights, having thicker hair, I thought my cost could be around $300, or 50% more than the advertised price. I was a bit surprised at the nearly double price Jessica mentioned, $380. And the 5 minute haircut? $95. I would not mind paying more for my hair color had it been the result I wanted. When I got home and saw the top of my head, I was shocked. The hair color was off and so unnatural, the opposite of what I requested. The pieces were no where the icier blond I requested and that Jessica confirmed she will be able to achieved. I fully recall her saying "so an icier blond?" And myself being excited. I came in the next day for a correction at 9 AM. Jessica was nearly 20 minutes late. The unnatural blending of the highlights were corrected, and the haircut was nice. At the end, I was clearly disappointed. Jessica mentioned my hair was not bright because she would need another session, I asked her 1) why she didn't mention it at first that she can't get to my desired result and 2) how can that be possible if I used MY OWN image for reference achieved in 1 session. She then mentioned that my ends still have a little yellow in them, so she recommends another session. I was shocked at the audacity. I really appreciate the kindness of the salon management, and want to re-iterate that this experience was marred only by my stylist, and what I felt, was a non-transparent process. If the stylist felt that she couldn't achieve what I asked, that should have been communicated before touching my hair. I am now leaving on vacation disappointed & sad.

    I have been looking for a hairstylist to make my hair dreams become reality, and Lecs made that happen. She's so sweet and was able to give me exactly what I wanted. I wanted to keep as much length and possible while getting rid of as much dead hair as possible. I love my new haircut.

    I absolutely LOVE my hair cut and color that I got from Jessica today! I am glad I gave this place a 2nd chance and I really appreciate that the staff cared about my experience. The color came out better than I expected and I am completely obsessed with it.

    Have gotten my hair dyed by Lu twice now (purple and blue) and have been obsessed with the results both times! Love how vibrant they've been able to make my hair and am constantly complimented on their work!! Lu is such a sweetie and makes sure you're comfortable and informed on everything they're doing to your hair. Could talk to them for hours. Definitely recommend booking with them!!!

    Womens Haircut

    I had an amazing appointment with Lu! This is my first appointment at Station X and with Lu, and I felt so comfortable and relaxed. Before washing my hair, we talked about the style and haircut I wanted and Lu took into consideration the style I had shown them in the pictures as well as how I normally style my hair (curtain bangs in the photo reference vs how I wear my hair in a side part). Once we started working on my hair, we had great little chats getting to know one another and the haircut flew by! Lu even showed me a few ways to style my hair, showing me some low maintenance styles routine and then showing me how to style my hair when I want to get a done up. Lu is an amazing stylist and I will be booking another appointment in the future!

    NOT Station X's work. Why did this take 1.5 hours to achieve for just a blowout / straighten?!

    I was in town for my brother's wedding and called around looking for a blowout for my niece and I. I was so relieved as I was told their tech could do it, quoted me about 45 mins per blowout (we definitely had time constraints and I made this known). I asked if the stylist had experience with blowouts and I was told yes; however, it was quickly evidenced that she did not. Please keep in mind that I get blowouts 2-3x per week and although I am not a hairstylist, I am used to the technique the stylist uses to get great results. I showed pics of what I wanted for both my niece and I; very simple blowout with straightening of our shorter A-line cuts (less than shoulder length). When complete, my niece's hair was uneven and had a wave towards the front, not what I asked for at all. 15 mins into doing mine, I was already panicked as I noticed she was blow drying uneven and left the entire underside of my hair damp. I kept letting her know that I was concerned and she kept telling me "it will be okay, I will straighten it". She was only using hairspray (which I hate) and put no smoothing product in my hair at all. At this point I was very unhappy and anxious; we were already 10 mins past the point where I needed to leave. Our stylist then recruited help from another stylist, asking her to help get my hair straight! I'm sorry but if you need help getting hair straight, maybe further training is needed?! While straightening my hair, the new woman stated "you have a lot of hair! Why so much?!" HUH? I literally have 4 tape in extensions on each side of my head... and it's less than shoulder length! I felt this was just a passive aggressive way of blaming the customer for the first girl's lack of experience. I use about 5 stylists in my hometown who each can do my blowout in 50 mins or less and have never once complained that I have "too much" hair. I asked that my niece's hair be fixed before we left (which it was) but at this point, we were already 40 mins later than what I was quoted for the completion of the appointment. The real shocker was when I went to pay and I was charged $75 per blowout! I asked why so much and I was told "for blowout and style". WHAT STYLE?! The blowout technique was so horrible that there was no way she could get it straight, had to call in for backup, put us way behind and then I was charged $150 (plus tip)?!I was honestly so frustrated and late at this point, I had no energy left to argue it. What was already a hectic weekend was left to be even more so due to the lack of experience by the original stylist; we barely made it to the church on time for my brother's wedding and missed the entire session of helping my sister in law get into her gown. I will say that I am grateful that the second stylist was able to save our hair but I wouldn't chance coming here if you have a special occasion to attend. Please note: my attached pic was NOT done by Station X. It was done by my local stylist. I wanted to more or less show the length of my hair (it is actually 1.5" shorter than the posted pic) It should not have taken 1.5 hours on my hair to achieve this look.

    I've visited Station X twice so far and always book with Lu. The salon is warm, welcoming, and delightfully eccentric--I love admiring the murals and decorations whenever I'm there. Lu is an incredibly talented hairstylist who is sweet, funny, and easy to talk to. They pay close attention to the small details and genuinely care about bringing your vision to life. Both haircuts I've had with them were fantastic, and I always leave feeling more confident. I can't wait to book my next appointment with Lu! :3
