I want to share my experience because Heidi and Claire truly deserve all the recognition in the world. A few months ago, I decided to try a different salon because I wanted a type of extension they didn't offer. I thought maybe a change would give me what I was looking for but it didn't. For months, I kept trying to give the other salon a chance, hoping it would eventually get better. It never did. I left every appointment frustrated, disappointed, and honestly, a little defeated. That's when I realized something important, Heidi and Claire are the only ones who truly understand me, my hair, and exactly what I want. They get it. They get *me*. And that's rare. When I finally decided to go back, I reached out, and they responded right away with so much warmth. They even booked me for a consultation the very next day. I already felt relieved before I even walked through the door. When I arrived, they welcomed me with such kindness that I instantly felt at ease. Even though they were extremely busy that day, they still made time for me and ended up installing a topper, completely unexpected, but they did it anyway because they genuinely care. Claire placed the topper so perfectly, and then Heidi worked her magic in a way only she can. She knows I never want the topper to show and that I want everything to look as natural as possible. She knows my preferences so well that she didn't even need me to explain, she just *knew* what to do. And she did it flawlessly. When they finished, I actually cried a little. Not out of sadness, but out of pure happiness and relief. I felt confident again. I felt like myself again. It's hard to explain that feeling, the feeling of trusting someone so much that you don't have to worry, because you know they will take care of you. That feeling is priceless. Hello Heidi, I just read your reply to my post. You said that you don't know who I am and that you don't supply patches. Patches were exactly what you accepted my $600 (50%) down payment for. You said that you would have to custom dye them to match my brown/grey hair. You owe me $600 for items paid for but not delivered. I do not want to have to go the legal route but will do so after you have ignored my request for a refund since 2025. I am quite willing to discuss a repayment plan with you. This review is soooooo overdue! On the other hand, I now have many more experiences between myself and my two kids, so I can say definitively that my first impression of Heidi and her entire team has been confirmed again and again. First of all, the salon itself is gorgeous and newly renovated. Heidi is a highly educated, highly experienced professional in many aspects of hair care, though she specializes in hair replacement and hair extension options. My daughters have had multiple types of extensions placed multiple times using several different methods (hand-tied, keratin bond, braidless sew-in). First appointment was consultation for color, texture, style and recommended hair extension technique based on the desired hairstyle outcome. Heidi is proficient in many types of hair extensions, including when each type of technique should be used depending on your existing hair and what type of outcome you would like to achieve. My 13 year-old daughter wanted longer hair and Heidi recommended blending my daughter's existing brown hair with bleached tips with a blond-brown balayage. My daughter is vey shy, but Portia put her at ease and they were conversing by the end of the appointment. The final result went far beyond mine and my kid's expectations! It was gorgeous and easier to maintain than I thought it would be, even with pool and ocean swimming over the summer. Claire provided detailed instructions on care that the salon has you sign and they send you copies of the care instructions by text or email. Her most recent endeavor has been bleached highlights which my daughter applies temporary dye to in order to change the color as she desires. Heidi's bleaching treatment resulted in soft hair with no dry, brittle breakage and no damage to her curl pattern! First time any hairdresser has even achieved that for her and she's had her hair bleached three other times! My 15 year-old daughter had bleached and dyed her hair and was looking for extensions to match her teal hair. She had keratin bond extensions of dark brown blended with teal highlights that brought her hair down past her shoulders. We loved the final effect and it was even easier to care for. Her most recent transformation has been 18" extensions dyed deep metallic magenta which has me strongly considering a similar style. Both kids have been in for multiple follow ups and the care and attention that Heidi and her team provide always make it a visit we look forward to because of the familiar and welcoming atmosphere, as well as the promised results of fantastic hair! This review is outdated, but I figure I'll give my two cents anyway. Going to the Hair Palace was the worst decision I made. Heidi appears caring and informative, but the work does not reflect her spoken knowledge. Heidi was supposed to do my hair but instead passed me off to her apprentice. I had to return a few days after I spent $1000+ on extensions so Heidi could correct the apprentice's placement of my wefts. Again just a few days later, I called to make a return visit asking for an explanation of the placement of the wefts, as my crown was flat and looked bad, and Heidi told me that I wasn't styling my hair correctly, so that's why I was getting a crappy outcome. I got extensions by them and the first time they texted me saying they were running late and pushed the appointment 1 hour later. When I got there they were being super unprofessional and talking rude to each other while I was sitting in the chair waiting for them to finish arguing. The hair extensions themselves were so bad. They didn't have enough hair for me and left me looking like 3 strands longer than my natural hair. The hair application in the front ended up falling out after only two weeks. The second time I came to get a reinstall, they pushed the appointment 2 hours!!! I got my hair done again with them just because I needed my hair down for an important event. One of the biggest things for me when getting hair extensions is being able to retain my real hair. I have very course and thin hair and one of my previous experience with hair extensions wasn't really that great (hair was pulled out and I had a bald spot for a while and my hair was falling out). After a lot of research and phone calls, I found that brazilian knots would be the best option for me. I didn't want anything with beads, I didn't want another full keratin treatment, and I didn't want my hair to be braided in. What attracted me initially to Hair Extensions Palace is the fact that she has experience with all different types of extensions and will recommend what's best for MY hair instead of just selling the method that she knows. So far I've done 3 hair extension installs by them and my hair is super long and healthy and suffered very minimal loss. Their prices are definitely not the most inexpensive in the market but it's absolutely worth the investment! Not only is it beautiful but i'm able to take breaks in between my installation because my hair isn't falling out all over the place. Both are great but it's a matter of preference. There are a lot of places out there that will recommend options that are horrible for your hair. DO NOT TURST THIS PLACE. It's a SCAM!!! I paid half the money $650 upfront 2 year ago for a product that I never received. Claire is respectful, but she is not truthful. She calls me every 4 to 5 moths and made several false promises that product will be delivered soon, but product was never delivered as of today. She keeps saying it's on is way and we should have within 2-4 weeks. She made false promises over and over. When I requested to get a refund, she completely refused. I even requested that at least give me a partial refund, Claire completely refused, that it is not their policy. I met Heidi once and she was nice and she made false promises as well. I went in for a consult with Claire, inquiring whether we could add on 6-8 inches to my shoulder length hair. She quoted me $590 for the hair alone, to which I replied that was over my budget so she said we can do half the hair at half the price. I asked if it would still look good, specifically wondering about the blunt under layer, and she assured me it would and that the under hair wouldn't be visible. I arrived at my appointment a few days later and when I parked I received a text that they were stuck in traffic and would be an hour late. I went for a walk and came back 40 minutes later. To my surprise they were doing someone else's hair, and my appointment didn't get started until almost 2 hours after my scheduled start time. The hair extensions didn't match and Heidi was kind enough to find some that did match my hair well. Unfortunately, after getting home and showering it was obvious that either not enough hair was used or the sew in method was not feasible for blending with my hair. My hair looks like I have a bob haircut with a thin layer of hair in between a short top layer and a short bottom layer. Despite Heidi's kindness, I'm really disappointed in the result and feel like I was lied to by Claire that a good result could be achieved in my price range. I contacted them later that day to let them know I was unhappy with my results and ask if there was anything we could do to make my hair look better and they took no responsibility, basically telling me it was my fault for choosing the sew in option. $700 down the drain. read more

This place deserves 0 stars. The owner claims to care so much about her clients and the health of their natural hair but I literally had my hair in for less than 10days and I have lost half of my natural hair. I came in due to thinning hair and I just wanted a little extra volume. My hair was already a decent length and relatively healthy aside from some recent thinning. She made the problem worse. My hair is butchered. I feel bald now. They recommended their hybrid method, Brazilian knots and keratin tips. The consultation was a joke no real information or education just $$ talk. I showed her a pic of what i wanted. Not even close. She placed all the knots at the base of my scalp concentrated in one area so I had this curtain of hair pulling at a small section of my scalp you'd think as someone who claims to have so much experience would know not put so much stress on one section of the scalp it pulled my hair so badly (i.e. traction alopecia) that I now have bald spots and literally half the hair I had going in. I told them I have to be able to wear my hair in a low pony for work she said no problem im a nurse i work 12-14 hours so that means my hair has to be tied back for long periods of time. Due to her placement and heaviness of the hair this caused the traction/tension which no doubt led to me loosing half my hair. I never wore tight styles or used elastic bands I always put my hair in looser braids or low ponys using a silk hair tie with my natural hair and during these 10 days. I was as careful as I could be. And going into the removal my hair was not matted so my issues are not due to my lack of care as she will undoubtedly claim. I messaged the owner after the removal because of how thin my hair is now and she didn't even have the courtesy to reply to a distressed client. The person removing the extensions took pictures the entire time and I'm glad she did you can see how sparse my hair is and how much of my scalp is visible. When installing the hair she did show me a very small area on the left side of my scalp where i had a small patch of hair loss/bald spot. ONLY IN THAT AREA AND SHE TOOK A PICTURE. Now I have this all over. It really is criminal what they did to me. If I was insecure before it 100x worse now this is emotional damaging to be so careless with someone's hair. Not to mention they were 3 hours late to my consultation and appointment....doing consultations while she was doing my hair stopping to eat and taking personal phone calls after being 3 hours late to my original appointment time when they knew i dont live locally...the whole experience was unprofessional and emotionally traumatizing my hair looks so thin damaged and I had nice hair going into this and now its terrible. Thank God I didn't have them in longer or I might of lost all my hair. I was nervous going in having them removed as our communication the days prior werent exactly the friendliest. The owner is extremely defensive where she cant admit her wrongs or mistakes.. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAUGE. read more

They say hairdressers are our counselors and miracle workers, but with Heidi, I feel like she "gets" me and really helps me to feel more like myself. She truly is a miracle worker! Almost 4 years ago, I lost all of my hair during chemotherapy and it's never grown back as full as it was before. I really hated my hair, it was thin and I had a lot of bald spots. I had gotten itip hair extensions somewhere else and they really did damage to my hair and scalp. I really felt ugly and like I was never going to be me ever again. After stocking this place on Instagram for the last few years, I decided to pop in. Little background...I've been getting extensions for the last 12+ years (beads, tape, sew-in) and finally decided to pop in and see what they had to offer. I was afraid they were out of my price range and figured it wouldn't even be an option. Let me just say after 10 minutes, I was sold!! I talked w/Heidi and her knowledge was nothing I have ever experienced before. FF, I ended up switching over to the Hair Extension Palace, paid for one thing, and then ended up upgrading to another type of extension while at my appointment. Usually, I would consider this switch/bait tactics, but not in this case. I 100% think Heidi and her staff honestly have the best in mind for their clients. I spent 7 hours in the salon for my new hair and can say loved every minute. Everyone is wonderful, I had so many great conversations among staff and also as a group. Heidi also took me, a newbie to see her new salon that will be opening soon, besides the care that she treated me with and love as a new client, it was BEAUTIFUL!!! I moved up here from Southern CA about 4 years ago. I came with extensions already and had been traveling back and fourth for upkeep at first and needed to find a place locally. I have had a bad experience in the past, have very fine and thinning hair, so I am very picky. I had tape in and those are the worst!!! Ladies stay away form those!!! I went to 2 consults at different locations and were not happy. I then found Hair Extension Place online. I called and scheduled a consultation. I had a consultation with Claire and Heidi. They both were very caring and Heidi is very knowledgeable with lots of experience. I felt comfortable and ordered the hair and set up the install. During my install there was an issue with the bathroom and it overflowed. Of course, they had to stop and deal with the issue. I do not like my real hair so I was willing to ride it out with her. She ordered pizza and we continued on. I am so HAPPY that I did. I left loving my hair more than I ever had and I have been coming to them ever since! Sometimes things happen and timing doesn't always work out. But they do QUALITY work and always make me feel beautiful when I leave. That is what is most important to me. The hair is very good quality and will last you a long time. My real hair was a little damaged and seems to be getting better. They are both very good people, sweet and kind. Let me start by saying my daughters hair was completely fried off from her going from Jet Black to blonde in one day. Her hair was 2 inches short in places. She was absolutely devastated (learned her lesson too) we didn't know where to turn, so I prayed on it. The very next day I saw Hair Extension Palace in my IG feed. I couldn't believe what I saw, it was a lady with fried bleach hair before and after transformation. So I DM them and Claire immediately set up a consultation via FaceTime since we were hours away. Still going to Heidi & still loving my extensions. I really look forward to my appointments because this salon is everything I want a salon to be - welcoming & you're treated like family. You should know about the hair: The hair is great quality. It's human hair so it will get split ends like real hair. Don't use too much heat & condition the ends. Don't just run the brush through your hair! Your tracks will slip & you'll get split ends. Detangle from the bottom & work your way up. Each bundle lasts me 18 months minimum. Getting the right texture is important. Heidi recommended wavy texture, which I used for 2 years, then decided to try slightly curly. It looked more natural (no curling iron needed) BUT the difference in texture between my hair & the extensions made it get matted in the humid foggy Bay Area weather. She warned me... She also educated me on how to care for the new texture (blow dry with a defuser & wash less often). I loved the way it looked but switched back to wavy to speed up my hair routine. read more
