I ordered on Yelp for a quick and seamless pickup. My food was ready before the estimated time frame. We got a waffle and two sausage patties Omelette with rye toast and home fries And home fries with 2 fried hard eggs and wheat toast. All the food was good except for maybe the waffle, it didn't taste like anything and it was extra spongy. They forgot our grits so I had to go back in to get it they were good. Grabbed some lunch here on our way home. Wanted to try it out since we were right next door. When i heard they had onion rings, i was sold! Also, I got the signature steak in a pita. Added lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Mayo on side. I think provolone would have been better than American, so maybe try that next time instead or maybe even their pepperjack! What can they improve? Everything. Horrible wait staff. Cleanliness - not sure how it passes inspection. Taste of food. Third new owner in as many years. Went three times in the past 3 weeks. First two times got up and left after sitting there for 15 to 20 minutes and no one coming up and asking for drinks or providing a menu. The third time, which was this week, found out about the new owner. Was willing to give the benefit of the doubt. They have a long way to go! Service remains extremely lackluster. Ordered coffee for breakfast. Tasted like it was boiled down multiple times. They were out of creamer and I walked to Audi to get creamer and paid for it myself. Food arrived and it tasted like old grease. Portions were okay but really lacked any decent flavor. Home fries had puddles of grease under them. Asked for silverware, not plastic, silverware comes out and it's absolutely dirty. Spoons are sticky with food still on them. Almost as if they were not washed and just packaged to hand back out. Went there today for some lunch. Ordered the Tuna Melt wanted something quick. Order took about 12 minutes. And I also ordered a steak in a sac. Waited until I got home to open it up. Tried the steak sac it comes with lettuce and tomato with a side of mayo. It's a half pita stuffed with what kind of steak idk. Not a great cut but it is rather large and a little salty. No cheese some cheese would have made it a lot better. The tuna Melt turned out to be soggy after being in the box and I don't live that far away. It too was a little salty whoever was cooking today likes to over salt the food. Because there was another lady there that sent her potatoes back because they were too salty. Ordered here for the first time using DoorDash. It was fine. Sandwich was sloppily thrown together and a bit greasy but it met the intent and was decent tasting (you can't go too wrong with cutting an Italian sausage in half, putting a slice of cheese on top and putting that in an English muffin. BUT - I have seen easier things done wrong). The home fries were kind of dry, felt stale, and it just had some caramelized onions thrown on top. Wasn't a huge fan. Was also craving chocolate cake. I have mixed feelings about this place. Growing up we would go the Marlow Heights location and have our fill. I found the new location and decided to head out. There is seating reminiscent of their old location. Essentially the same set up. I was greeted with drinks served out of a styrofoam cup for warm and cold drinks. I ordered my usual Italian sausage breakfast and decided to try a salmon cake on the side. When my plate arrived I was giving plastic cutlery and a plate of what I could only say felt like... i could have made this at home. The only think that tasted ok was the Italian sausage. My potatoes just seemed brown and mushy. The salmon cake was more like a smashed patty, my eggs were overcooked. So essentially if you prefer your food a certain way you can ask but you'll almost always get what the cook feels like giving you. Want your eggs scrambled medium ... you're getting well done. Went extra onions? He may and may not remember, want your salmon cake to resemble a patty you're getting pieces of it on a plate. This place is a place where if you want to come and sit and socialize you can do that. The staff is super friendly, but on a couple of visits I just noticed the inconsistency of the food. I've visited multi times and sometimes you get a really good meal and sometimes you don't get the consistency. I don't even hold that against them. This is not a place to come if you're in a rush, the vibe is slow and steady and relaxing. You see regulars coming in and out with big smiles and warm greetings, this really is a chill spot to come and have diner food! It can me hit or miss but I'll always go back for that Italian sausage. But if you just don't feel like cooking and you want some diner food I'd say go and have a good time. read more

I try to mitigate the wait by placing my order online but that typically limits you on customizing your order. Today I arrive at the Indian Head Hwy location at ~10:40am and to my surprise there were very few people dining in.
