Terminal 1 has a handful of eating options. Rocco's was right next to our gate and they had a walk up take out section right next to their dine in restaurant. By the way, the restaurant offers a QR code to reserve a table and place a take out order. The dining room and bar looked pretty fun but we had no time to sit. The walk up counter has a self serve kiosk or you can order from a staff member if they are not running around serving customer. I chose the kiosk: simple and quick. Selections included photos and payment via kiosk. My food came out quickly: 2 chicken tacos no sides. One thing I noticed was my food came out before the other waiting before me. The shredded chicken breast was pretty hefty and I wish they did a double tortilla wrap so my tortilla didn't break. It's fine because it was delicious. I did have to ask for a side of salsa. But it then suggests a tip amount of 18%, 20%, or 25%. This makes it look like you're choosing the whole tip, *not* adding additional on top of the auto 18% for 2 people. Didnt realize til on the plane. Love and learn. Someone got nearly $25 dollars for carrying a plate to our table. Yay for them! They made some money and earned 1 star. We were waiting for our United flight to Tucson, Arizona (well, where we would ultimately arrive). We needed food for the long excursion ahead, where there may be no survivors (there weren't any issues, I'm being melodramatic). Rocco's was there by our gate, and that is where we parked our backsides for 90 minutes that went surprisingly fast. I didn't care for the service. It was slow, especially with the food from the kitchen. The brisket from the brisket nachos was overcooked. But the drinks were solid like the paloma I ordered. It did the job for what we needed, so I wasn't famished by the changeover flight. The ambiance was nice and reflective of the Rocco's brand -- Aztek-style, atrium lighting, which served well when you're in an airport and can feel like you're cattled in at times. read more

Food: 2/5 Mexican Cobb Salad - $22 (1/5) After the long wait, this was the biggest disappointment. The chicken was tough, hard, and no longer warm. There was one small scoop of guacamole that was already starting to brown. The beans and rice were just okay. Cobb salad is one of my favorites, and this was honestly the worst one I've had. Cheese Quesadilla - $17 (3/5) It was okay, but very overpriced for what it is. Burrito Bowl - $20 (3/5) Also okay. Nothing particularly stood out. Service: 0/5 This was the biggest issue. A heads up about the delay would have gone a long way. At 30 minutes, no update. Nicely decorated and reasonably clean spot in Terminal 1 at FLL. Badly managed on our visit, however. Line to enter at 1p. Workers walking by not making eye contact with people on the line - with one exception, and that guy (who eventually took care of us) was hustling. People on line were impatient, as empty tables were available. Un-bussed tables were also evident - it appeared the servers were responsible for bussing as well. Amusingly (see my photos), the menus at the tables were a couple dollars more expensive per item than the electronic menu near the front podium - where's the Florida AG when you need him? When we were seated by our one whirling dervish of a server (all the others seemed to be perfecting the art of slow walking without making eye contact), we got drinks after a while. Got our food order in (again, our guy was hustling, but he was the only one) and it came in a while. It tasted okay (skirt steak burrito bowl and carnitas tacos - main spice in evidence was salt, no piquancy whatsoever and requested hot sauce never arrived) and didn't make us sick. Portions were fine, prices were as-expected in an airport. Beer selection was almost hilariously thin due to things being out of stock (I did manage to luck into a pretty darned good IPA, though) and - get this - this airport "Mexican" place had run out of ingredients for margaritas! Lord, but I dislike eating at airport restaurants. As always, my review takes into account the terrible nature of airport eateries: in the real world outside of the secured area of an airport, Rocco's Tacos would be a one-star disaster that you'd warn your friends against. I begged the woman behind the counter 3 times to check on my food, explaining my situation - she barely acknowledged my presence. I will say it is good, and I'm not in California so the preferences I have are preferences and not real against quality and taste etc. I got two pork tacos ala carte and they are great!! Flour tortillas though but honestly the quality of the meat flavor and the toppings with cojita cheese generous and full. I'm always surprised when I order mexican'ish food somewhere outside my realm and it's decent. So good on you Rocco for having a decent taco. Would it survive against my Cali stuff, not a chance. We ordered chips and quac, a quesadilla, and a beer/waters. The chips and guac came out super fast, but for $19 it is not worth it for the size. It was very yummy, but can't justify spending $20 on it. As for the quesadilla, it was a great portion and very tasty. I don't remember the price but I feel it was worth it. I travel a good bit, so restaurants and bars inside airports are important to me! Rocco's Tacos at FLL Terminal 1 is excellent. Good spacious but busy bar, plus lots of TVs to watch NFL Sunday. Most likely because the mushroom taco lacked the accompanying ingredients I'm accustomed to receiving. The bartender who delivered my meal offered hot sauce but I politely declined. I dined just shy of the 5 o'clock hour. The bar featured the most action and the dining room only a couple of tables with patrons. Filthy and Unacceptable - Dead Roach in My Food Rocco's Tacos should be embarrassed to serve food in this condition. We ordered the beef nachos and found a dead cockroach mixed right in. Absolutely revolting. That's not just poor service - that's a health code violation. The 20-something kid who claimed to be the manager came out and explained that they had a "shared space" as if this was justification for this culinary abomination. To make matters worse, they were out of guacamole and sour cream, and they don't even have fountain drinks - only bottled, blaming this on the TSA. Zero attention to quality or hygiene will be found here. Eat at your own risk. This was one of the most disgusting dining experiences we've ever had. The menu called for $17.19 and $3 for sausage. My bill came out to $32 . When I asked how it was so expensive he said bc I got coffee and sausage. Visited Rocco's before a flight out of FLL this week to grab a quick lunch. Service was good, restaurant was semi-busy but had a lot of space. While you had the option to order on your phone, the area server made sure to be available to take orders and bring drinks/food etc. Food was pretty good and they had a vegan option which was wonderful. I had a burrito with plant based protein and ordered a side of churros as well. The food took an extraordinary time to come out which is why they lose a star, but otherwise it was worth the stop in.
