I have lived in South Florida all my life and have visited many places with Waffle Houses but never ate at one. Today was the day that we decided to try it. The food was good, basically what you would find at any diner. They do give you a lot of food for the prices. I was shocked at how cheap it was. Our server was Alexis, after we told her it was our first time eating at Waffle House she took the opportunity to tell us about some of the things on the menu and tell us what some of the favorites were. We appreciated that. Food came out quick, and it was hot just like I like it. We ate, got our check, paid and were out. Service was great, and the food was good too. There is limited seating so expect to wait if you come during peak hours. We lucked out because a table was being cleaned when we walked in. Zharia was our server and was excellent. She was very personable and even made some recommendations. There was a steady flow of customers and the Grill Operators were cooking nonstop. I ordered a sausage, egg & cheese biscuit with a side of hash browns, extra crispy. I didn't realize that the egg wasn't scrambled and that you get a fried egg. The biscuit was really good and I was happy that the hash browns were crispy as I had ordered. One thing I can say is most of the staff are real pleasant and helpful. That is why I gave them 2 stars. I ordered hash browns because that is the ONLY thing I might like off the menu. Most of the potato was hot, some was cold. I ate about three bites. They actually "cook" right in front of you. Well, if you are sitting at the counter. My friend's son had a kid's meal which looked pretty big. I asked him what his favorite item was and he said it was the toast. I saw firsthand how hard the staff works and it is sad. Had breakfast with my sons at the Davie Road Waffle House on 10 December at approximately 9 am. We all enjoyed our meals, but it was the service by Jocelyn (new trainee) and Diego that we commend. They made an exerted effort to ensure we had a pleasant experience. Even the training manager (forgive me for not remembering the young lady's name) was as professional, polite, and willing to provide excellent service. Their sense of urgency was brilliant. We arrived around 12pm on a rainy Sunday. It was busy but very well-managed. After being greeted and added to the list, we hung out and chatted while watching the chefs and waitstaff do their thing. I picked the blueberry waffle and it was pretty tasty... not crispy like I would expect but still decent nonetheless.
