They had feedback cards in those days and my feedback review was that, "Jack's is the WORST restaurant I've EVER eaten at!" I got in an adventurous mood decided to see if this recently opened Jack's had improved since the MANY years since I had last eaten at the last one. So the exterior and interior looked significantly better than any of the Jack's I've seen in Alabama. I ordered the "Big Jack" burger and told them, "absolutely no ketchup as I HATE and DESPISE ketchup!" So I was in a hurry and grabbed my food and left. When I arrived at my destination and opened the burger to eat it I very quickly discovered that this Big Jack was DRENCHED in ketchup and they left off the lettuce, tomato and cheese! The meat looked absolutely horrible while the bun looked much improved than the past example I had seen years ago. I hoped at least I could eat some French fries to at least calm my hunger down but after trying two of them I found them disgusting as they didn't seem fully cooked. So Jack's was and is the WORST restaurant I've ever eaten at!

It is over 3 miles from my home and out of the way. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and the person at the drive-thru asked if I wanted it on toast and I replied. "Yes," confirming I wanted the toaster sandwich. I have not had great experiences with their biscuits so my order was very intentional. When I made it to the window, my order was repeated and the receipt on the bag read the same. I drove 3.3 miles home with my tastebuds excited to enjoy one of my favorite breakfast items. Unfortunately, I had received a BEC BISCUIT! To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I toasted my own bread and transferred the eggs and bacon, which were absolutely delicious! Next time, I will make sure my order is correct before I drive 3.3 miles back home.

I have to say I still prefer their old location better which is largely more for nostalgia's sake. The service was less than I had come to expect from the old location so that could certainly use some improvement and it seemed to have gotten even worse for my second visit to the new spot. The food has declined from my past first visit to this new location sadly. The open faced prime rib sandwich served with a side of au jus was my go to staple here for many years but they no longer have that on the menu sadly. The only other entrée I ever ordered here was one of the Gulf fish specials which they still had some of those at least but not as good a choice as they used to have. For my second visit the menu was so uninspiring to me I just got a cheeseburger and it was fortunately a decently good cheeseburger. For Hattiesburg this is probably still one of the better places to eat. They have continued doing a nice tray of their dessert selections setting out on display to really try and tempt your soul with lust for their sweet treats. I really think they need to up their game again and go back to what they used to be! Overall if you're in the area this is probably a good choice for the food or their bar which will be better than any of the many nearby chains like Applebee's but not quite as good as Crescent City Grill.
