     a burger and fries

Pretty good fast food spot. The fries were definitely my favorite thing I ordered, I'd even say top 5 fast food fried. The shake was good, the original burger was better than expected.

This spot is near my house, and I like to come here sometimes to get a quick & cheap meal. Literally two of my meals only costed $10. Of course, you get what you pay for. It's not the best burgers around or anything, but it's convenient & affordable for those types of days. Their fries are a hit-or-miss too. Some days they're terrible and some days they're "fresh." I do like that their burgers are smaller (compared to McDonalds & BK) and doesn't make you grossly full. Their chili is pretty decent, but the best thing on their menu is their milkshake!

Chili NOT 5-WAY Maybe 3 way or 2 way.

They forgot my cheese and onions on all 3 of my chili 5 way. I tried to call number but mailbox is full. No other way to contact management?

The longest line of my entire life! I actually decided to order in my car while waiting to make it up to the actual speaker box. Got to the window & guess what I did? Continued waiting some more... on the plus you can view them assembling your meal Finally the food arrives... the fries were definitely fresh! Nice, thin & crispy . Actually thinner than your average shoestring style fries. They were decent fries, not spectacular. The burger was sliding around in the wrapper which I wasn't a fan of (presentation matters to me). Took a bite & no longer cared. I pieced that bad boy together just fine! I don't know if I want to endure that line again but damn.. that original double steak cheeseburger hit the spot! If not for the long wait I'd give higher rating..

Good service (most of the time), good food, and kept fairly clean. Just like any other steak and shake you'd go to.

Very nice staff, clean, and fast service. We are rarely disappointed here. Best milkshakes in town.

It is only open for lunch from 11-2pm Tuesday through Saturday. We made sure we got in line a few minutes before 11am. Yes a line, so get there early. The doors opened right at 11am and you order from the counter and have a seat. The staff is welcoming and assist with the line and seating to have everything move smoothly. The prices were not bad at all and we got alot of food. The fried chicken is out of this world. A must get. You won't regret it. It is so flavorful with crispy skin, yet moist chicken. Also, it is not super greasy which was my favorite part. I enjoyed the green beans and corn on the cob. The jalapeño corn bread was amazing! My mom got the black eyed peas, mac n cheese, and regular cornbread with her fried chicken. She raved about the black eyes peas. We also ordered banana pudding and Mrs. Pearl's Cheesecake. The banana pudding was my favorite and a great sweet treat to round out my southern meal. The inside of the diner is not very large but does have plenty of seating inside and some outside. While we did not see Mrs. Pearl, her sister greeted us and was definitely running the diner while we were there.

Now, for the record, I love non-corporate truck stops, and there are still many out there, but they are a dying breed, especially when they feature a mom and pop diner. I've now been here on two separate occasions, and it hasn't disappointed me either time. The place has a kind of late 70s/early 80s charm to it. Tables on tile floor, art painted on wood trimmed walls. Feels comfy and familiar to me. My first go around, was late in the evening, and I was feeling breakfast, so I strolled up to the counter and looked at the menu. I'm a sucker for a good omelette, so I went with the Western omelette, and smothered it and the hash browns both in country gravy, so that's what I ordered. One of the things I love about truck stops is the large portions for a good price, and in today's economy, there's nothing wrong with that. I paid for the omelette, and found a table, and a few minutes later the girl who took my order brought it to me, with an exceptionally large glass of water. I dug into it, and while the egg was a little thin and not quite fluffy enough, it was stuffed with enough peppers, onions, sausage, bacon and cheese to make it filling enough on its own. The toast and hash browns were just a little something extra. But I ate every bite on that plate. That gravy was worth the extra cost and tied the whole thing together nicely. I was sated, and perhaps a little food drunk when I left. Today, I tried the Chili Cheese fries. Again, I paid at the counter and again they brought it to me, with that large glass of water accompanying it. The chili was obviously homemade and was of the beef variety without a bean to be found, there was plenty of cheese on it, and onions too! (Which I added to it.) it also was delicious and well portioned. Both times here, the service was friendly and great, and I left feeling full. Absolutely no complaints about this place. And since it's on my work route, I'm sure I'll be there again to try other things.

Liz came by the table to say hi to my mother in law and to meet us all. I started my meal with a spicy Bloody Mary and then had the Seafood Scramble with Spicy Hollandaise and a side of Cheesy Grits. That biscuit looked soft and fluffy. I loved my egg dish. My son had a Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato Fries and my brother in law had the Grilled Cheese and Crab Sandwich. They both looked great and apparently were delicious. The Shrimp and Grits and Debris Eggs Benedict were awesome too. We will definitely be back on our next trip if not another day this week.
