This quite possibly has to be the worst run Stake n' Shake I have ever been to. It was as if all the staff (all 2 waiters and 3 cooks) were on ambien. They moved like slugs and when there was a line forming out the doors they just stared at you and hoped that by ignoring you, that you would give up and go dine else where. I wish I would have. After waiting for 15 minutes to sit down. The one waitress told me that it would be another 10-15 minute wait so that they could clean off tables. Those tables mind you had been vacant and disgusting for the entire time I was there. The food was cold and our server seemed like she just wanted us out of there. I put down a 2 dollar tip which was not deserved or earned by the "server." Before we even got up she was right there to scarf up the money. Then we waited in line again to pay. The man ringing us up had no idea what he was doing and needed the ambien induced zombie waitresses to assist him multiple times. Which as you can imagine took quite a while. If I could give this less than 1 star, trust me, I would. I came in at 1AM, and felt very rushed and underappreciated. Ordered two milkshakes and an order of cheese fries (a late night snack, if you will), they automatically 'assumed' I wanted the largest size, never offered water, never checked on, one of three people in this establishment. These are the same workers who have worked here for years. My advice? Make your staff go through customer service training and/or get rid of them and hire new people who ENJOY their job. Waited 15 minutes and only saw one order come out. Saw the cook have a melt down. Glad we left.

They are understaffed...What staff they do have hides in the back drinking sodas from the fountain, while we wait for our FIRST refill...Took 9 minutes to order drinks, then over 15 minutes to get!!! The table wasn't really clean we sat down, I used tissues from my purse and germx--I was ready to go, but my boys were starving and didn't want to cause a scene. When the food finally came, she carried it too close to her face and mouth, it was like she breathed all over it and practically had her hair in it...we never did get a refill throughout our entire dinner and had to ask for to go cups after I walked up to the counter!!! I will drive to another location for a burger before I go in there...and then they ask for a tip...no!!! you don't didn't get a tip for being lazy. it's like a trophy for participation, it's stupid and unnecessary, you don't do your job or even try you will not be rewared!! read more

Worst Stake and Shake I have been too in my life. Waited 15 minutes to get our beverages and was never refilled. Food came out completely wrong and they forgot my ranch 3 times after I kept asking for it. Never eat here or you will have the worst service read more

Sad to see this place go downhill. Very poor service this evening. Food took too long considering few customers in the place. Wet table whwn we sat down. Had to ask for a napkin just to dry it off. Went to pay the bill and no one would acknowledge us standing there for at least 5 minutes. Convinced a party waiting to be seated not to bother dining there. In the drive through lane they asked me if I could wait a minute, that turned out to be 10 minutes before I asked if anyone was going to take my order!!! This place takes forever every time I eat here and the last few times they were not friendly or attentive or apologizing for the fact they are understaffed. Also would have been nice if they let you know that the wait may be longer than usual before you sit there forever. Not to mention the fries are undercooked every time. Extremely poor management and awful customer service, do not eat here! read more

The floor in the whole restaurant is covered in black grease. Thw waitress literally had to gingerly walk to thw table to keep from slipping. I ordered the guacamole burger and was told they were out of guacamole. Server was nice, but I couldn't get past the cleanliness. read more

After standing at the front door waiting for approximately 5 minutes, NONE of the staff acknowledged us, greeted us, responded with a "welcome, we will seat you shortly", nadda. 90% of the empty tables were dirty with dishes. We only noticed two very young cooks and two very slow servers that didn't even make eye contact. Before leaving we noticed a sign on their door that stated something like "We strive or committed to great customer service." This was below par experience for us, but after reading other reviews about the food and service, it was a good call that we left and went elsewhere. Hopefully, the management or owners will review carefully and take immediate action as this location has a lot to improve on. read more

The place was buzzing with whispers of a personal nature over someone being re-hired... While we waited 25 minutes for cold chili... Cold fries minus the sea salt and cracked pepper and steak burgers... One with no grill on the bun and one with the bun burned. The tables were dirty, floors hadn't been swept or mopped in days and the cooks blonde hair was flying around everywhere. Very curious how they rated a 95. Last time at the Mt Juliet Steak and Shake... Very disappointed!!!!! read more

I absolutely love Steak 'n Shake. The prices are great. The food is tasty, especially for the price. This weekend I have come twice to a full restaurant with one waitress. One time on a Friday night at typical dinner time. It is hard to serve a restaurant full of hungry people with just a few servers, much less all by yourself. The servers work so hard, but I don't blame them for being stressed. It shows poor leadership and management. read more

Poor management. Understaffed. Long wait times. Ordered online and when I came for the pick-up, the order had not yet been started and when it was, it was not correct. Had to wait for a re-make while the correct food got cold. The online site charged me the incorrect amount and the manager REFUSED to correct it. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

My visit to this Steak 'n Shake can be summed up in one word, horrible. First we went to the drive thru which was empty and waited for 5 minutes with no one taking our order so we went inside. After placing our order to go we received the food after about 5 minutes. Then a few minutes later the hostess told a girl we were waiting on a cherry limeade and a shake. The girl had no clue what a cherry limeade was but was still sent off to make it with little instruction. The result was not good. Then after waiting another 10 minutes we asked about the shake that they had apparently forgotten about and despite our politeness were addressed back with a rude attitude. We will certainly never return to this location. read more

Waited 20 mins with a 17 month old and 5 year old before anyone spoke to us. Then the waitress was rude as all get out when I asked her if we could get our shakes after our food and she said she would just "put them in the freezer" because they make them when they punch them in. Then when I asked if she could put them in after we eat. She got so annoyed and made it evident she was. She took our order and it was another 20 mins and no drinks. There were two other couples who had been there before us who had no drinks or anything either. We got up and left as did the other two couples waiting before us. This is a continued pattern of behavior for this steak and shake. We will not return to this location. read more

The last time I reviewed this location I gave it two stars. Didn't think the location could get worse. Wrong ! I've not had a problem with the food other than being able to get it ! Consistently the worse service of any food chain, restaurant, hotel, car dealer or any other business I've ever dealt with ! I honestly don't know how this place stays in business. From reading the reviews seems I'm not the only that feels this way. Does Steak and Shake managers or corporate office ever read these reviews ? If my business got these kind of reviews I would be in that store getting to the bottom of the obvious problems. Without satisfied customers you don't have a business. It's that simple. From what I've encountered the employees simply don't care or have any pride. The late night drive through is the worse. You sit at the speaker speaker for a very extended amount of time. The person working the window will usually answer pretty quick but it's always the same. Please hold I'll be with you shortly. This persons idea of shortly usually turns into a solid 10 to 15 minutes if your're lucky. Mean while cars are driving off because they are tired of such bad ridiculous inexcusable wait time. If you are lucky enough to finally get your order in pull forward kill the motor in your car. Lay the seat back and relax because you would burn $10.00 worth of gas if you left the motor running. Again, cars are pulling out of line this time in front of you. I could care less but now comes the next problem. The orders are out of sequence and your going to get the meal that should of went to one of the guys in front of you. So now you've got to spend 10 extra minutes while they figure that out. On a good night you can get through the line in about 30 minutes. Other nights 30 minutes to an hour or never at all. I've no doubts this location loses more revenue each night at the window than they take in. If the managers and corp office doesn't care than shut the drive through down to save your customers all the misery. I'm not just speaking of one recent experience I'm speaking of numerous times over the course of two years !!! Bad service is the only consistent thing at this drive through. So it's not just one bad employee it's anyone that has worked the window. So to me that means horrible training or hiring practices which falls back on horrible managers and corporate involvement. If I sound critical I'll explain why. I worked at a fortune 500 20 billion dollar a year corporation for 30 years. Retired now.. As large as that company is our customer service is much more personable and would of never made it to the level they had with common practices Steak and Shake has. I say Steak and Shake has because I've read customer reviews of many of their locations and these complaints seem to be consistent at most stores. Maybe not quite as bad as this one but pretty bad. The only reason I've wasted this much time writing this is because I do like several of the menu items and I'm just hoping some one with Steak and Shake will read this and actually care enough to get in there and straighten this store out. I usually wait a couple weeks and drop in when I've got about 30 minutes to waste in hopes things are finally the way they should be. In closing the menu states breakfast starts at 12am. One time in my visits at 2am or later they were serving breakfast. They really seem to have a problem making the biscuits. Just concede when you go in for breakfast here you're not getting a biscuit.
