I had a really rough day, had literally nothing but water all day and I finally have an opportunity to eat and I go here. I ordered and mentioned no pickles plz and she reads back the order saying I want pickles. I say sorry but it's no pickles on any of our burgers. She says it will say pickles on the receipt but she will be absolutely sure to tell the cooks verbally "no pickles" ... ...well we get home and everything has about 4 slices of pickles each. Don't go to this disappointing location. The crew on schedule 10/25/2022 at about 7:15 pm is incompetent to even take an order at fast food. I was literally the only vehicle on an empty night. After starving all day and working hard, thinking I deserved something great, this was a major disappointment and it will stay with me. It was my last night in an area with a Steak & Shake, and only got halfway through my meal before my stomach got irritated from all the vinegar acid in the pickle juice that stayed on my burger

Milk shake was good, double bacon cheese burger was good with crispy meat. Not a fan of the shoe string fries though. Garlic burger was not up to par, a little shake of garlic salt on the bun and no condiments On the burger. It was real bland. Onion rings were nice and crispy.

First of, I'll say that the food and shake were good. Steak 'n Shake is one of my favorite franchises. Their half priced happy hour, and kids meal prices are some of the lowest around. It's an actual restaurant. You also have the choice to order through the drive thru, or you can order at the counter. We chose to dine in. It was less than an enjoyable experience from the start. One of the young waitresses was scolding our waitress, literally right in front of us. It was so awkward! It didn't end then, she proceeded to scold the cooks in the back, from the food window, also right in front of us. Girl, you're like 18 years old, you got a lot of learning to do yourself! When she started yelling at the manager, my husband about lost it. Instead, he motioned for the manager to approach and he shared our opinion with him. He said they were "working with her on this ongoing issue". Yikes. Are employees that hard to come by? I ordered the double cheese burger and fries, which were great. Even if they were the best burger and fries I've ever had, I wouldn't go back simply because of the awkwardness and disrespect.

Stopped by for the first time to try out steak n shake. Ordered 3 single burgers with everything on them. THIS is their idea of a burger with everything on it. A sliver of onion and a slimy wilted green thing which might be week old lettuce they fished out of their garbage can put back. No pride what so ever in their food or customer service

So i took my children in for dinner thinking hey it's Sunday so the baby could get his own meal, because online it says a free kids meal with every 9.00 spent. When i asked about it one of the grill workers say that's corporate and Then i show the online and address attached and he then said oh we stopped that with covid. Funny how his answer changed twice when i showed and read the address off. They would not honor the online special.

After losing our order this is what was given to me. It wasn't even what I would call a burger as it was rock hard and cold.

By all accounts, this was probably too much food but for the price it was an absolute bargain! This plate was loaded with so much flavor I forgot that I was sitting in the corner of a parking lot. LOUD AF on a Tuesday night with incredibly slow service…read more I like to eat in local places while we're on the road. Read about this place being historic with a beautiful bar and lovely tin ceiling. And that is all true. Walked in and could not believe how loud the single singer with an acoustic guitar was. There was a sound engineer, working a board, so he must've thought that level was OK. But you could not have a conversation at all. I was wishing for earplugs. When we first stepped in, I considered just looking at the carved mahogany bar and going somewhere else. But, we figured it should be fast and we could endure the cacophony for a short time. We were so wrong about it being fast. There was only one wait staff working that night, and she was also behind the bar. When she finally moseys over to us, she admitted she had forgotten all about us. She then took our drink order, and the drinks came quickly. But then she literally never came back to take a food order. Watched her go to all the other tables, watched her clean off the bar, watched her answer a phone call for a takeout order, and then I finally went up to the bar and asked her if we could put in a food order. Once the food was ordered it came out quickly. My husband's smashburger and candied pecan salad were both really delicious. I am a sucker for a local food item whenever I see it on the menu, and I made the mistake of ordering the cashew chicken poutine. The cashew sauce had zero flavor and was just overly salty. The chicken was fried very tough. At least the cheese curds were good. But I barely ate any of it. Nothing but regret about this choice.

Eating in a wing back chair, at some odd table, isn't well suited for dining. But, sure looks neat. The food is ok to good: Burger : The burger was really good. Has some jam sauce on it which really works. Beef has a good flavor. The bacon was very good. . Potato soup: The soup is good....but needed far greater seasoning to have it be great. Pork Wings: Again, needed more seasoning to elevate the pork. And the dipping sauces were a bit unusual. And the Asian style sauce - by gosh did it have a ton of saffron. Patagonia side item: These potato chunks weren't much. Potatoes were nothing special, under seasoned and the dipping sauce was unusual. And so much saffron, it was way overpowering. . Is it worth going to - absolutely and the place is neat. But I give an extra 1/2 to 1 star more, just because of the neatness of the place.

I really wanted to like The Table…read more The space itself is absolutely beautiful -- one of the best dining rooms in Springfield -- and it feels like the kind of place that should deliver a more elevated, full-service experience. That's part of what made the counter-service model feel a little out of sync with the atmosphere. We first tried visiting as a group of about 12 on a Saturday around 7 PM. I had called ahead and was told they don't take reservations, so we planned accordingly. When we arrived, we were told there wasn't any way to accommodate our group together -- not even the option to wait for space to open up -- so we ended up going elsewhere. I did come back later with a smaller group for lunch. The experience was better logistically, but still a bit disjointed. The menu felt somewhat scattered, and while we were able to find seating at a communal table, the overall flow felt a bit chaotic. After ordering at the counter, the wait for food was quite long -- around 45 minutes or more -- which gave us plenty of time to observe how things were running. Toward the end, I noticed tables being marked as unavailable/reserved, which made me wonder why a similar approach couldn't have worked for larger groups earlier. When the food arrived, it was good -- nothing wrong with it -- but not especially memorable, especially considering the wait and price point. There's a lot to like here, especially the space and overall concept, but the execution didn't quite match the expectations for me. I do think with some adjustments to service flow and consistency, this could be a much stronger experience.
