Fries were cold and hard. There was a roach stuck to the paper the burger was wrapped in. One star because you can't give negative stars. The service was fast but I can't tell you about the taste cause the smashed roach took my appetite away. The ladies at the window weren't rude but I wouldn't call them pleasant either. Absolutely terrible terrible terrible terrible terrible service the evening of 8/31. Waited for an hour and still didn't get our food. Manager was not managing anything. Poor thing couldn't even muster a few reasonable excuses. Waitress' excuse was this was just her second night and she didn't know what was going on. I considered Steak and Shake a fast food restaurant and this was some of the slowest service I've ever experienced. It took about 30 minutes to receive my burger and fries. This location is right off the interstate so they get a lot of travelers. They are extremely understaffed and need to hire more people read more

Not giving this place one star because i didn't spend so much time inside and took my order to go. I don't eat at steak and shake that often so I don't really know how they serve there food on a regular basis...but this did not meet par. Idk if they usually serve there fries without salt and supper greasy, but that's how mine were. Tasteless at that as well. And idk if anyone else is noticing this...but all there shakes are pretty much tasting exactly the same now. :(. I do have to say their service was not all that bad though, so they do have one redeeming factor. But all in all, I probably won't be coming nab know here again soon. read more

I don't go to Steak and Shake often. Sadly the experience I had at this one was the worst I've ever had. The server was nice and the food was pretty good but it took forever. It took 30 minutes from the time the order was taken to when we got our food. On top of that it took about 10 minutes to be seated and over 15 minutes to get our drinks and put our orders in. The whole experience took over an hour and we choose this place because we were in a hurry. We were offered free ice cream for the wait but we declined because that would only add time and we were already late. Good afordable food but slow slow slow! Do not go if on a lunch break or in a hurry! I hate giving bad reviews but there was nothing fast about this fast food. read more

What can I say? It's Burger and fries at a truck stop. They provide exactly what you would expect from a Steak 'n Shake. The only reason that this review is getting 2 stars is because I love the quality of Steak and Shakes' fast food. Their burgers are pretty good and their fries are my favorite. That being said, this location is pretty bad. Our server was friendly, but took about 10 minutes to get us water and about another 5 to take our order. Although the restaurant was full, service was way too slow. It took about 45 minutes to get our food, which is ridiculous for a fast food style diner. This restaurant is the biggest joke of all time. Service is horrible most of the time. Customers come in and walk out because they're ignored. Food has come out wrong 97% of the time. Management is never seen up front. Some customer is always complaining abt either the food being wrong or no one has been to the table for 10-15 min, and tables will sit dirty for an hour. We have complained to managers before and the place never changes. We hv seen servers yelling across the dining room into the kitchen. This Steak and Shake is 24 hrs and is located tandem with a gas station which so happens is a Pilot GS now right at the exit of I-75. Came out of work and stopped there thinking I may eat or not. On my way in I told the waitress I was going to use the restroom but to let me see the menu to see if I wanted something. I went into the restroom which was awfully dirty. There was nothing to dry my hands with since the dispensers were either empty or broken. I went out and told the manager lady whom told the original waitress. Here I was, one of the only three clients waiting for a paper towel forever and the manager lady whom was refilling salt jars etc, just stood there looked at me waiting for about 7 minutes and didn't even bulged. Well, I said, I wanted something but with no hand wash, no eating. I put the menu down and came out the door. So, my family of four and my two grandparents decided to stop here for lunch on our road trip. My parents are driving a separate Uhaul, so they came into the restaurant about 20 minutes after we were seated. Which was surprisingly fast. We didn't think they would be able to seat us that quickly. But they did. But then everything went down hill. You know how I said my parents came 20 minutes later? In that timespan, we didn't even get asked what we wanted to drink until about 15 minutes. Our drinks (waters) didn't come out until about when that 20 was up. Our waitress barely even noticed us. When my parents finally arrived and our order was taken, we waited. And waited. And waited. For AT LEAST and hour. They weren't even that busy. We saw one table who had ordered after us get their food before us...half of our six orders were not correct, and the cook forgot one the orders altogether. So that was frustrating. We finally got our shakes after we got our food. The food was pretty mediocre, and the fries were undercooked. The only real positive was that the shakes were really good. All in all, don't go here. However, the dinning room is packed and there have been people standing by the hostess both for 10 minutes without even being greeted. Considering this is a fast food joint, the staff needs a lesson on urgency. Went one night on our way traveling to Central Florida. The garlic burger was way over greased on the top with garlic. I had to wipe off grease with napkins. My plastic cup the waitress gave had a 4 inch crack, leaked water all over the table. As i write this, i am waiting for my food. We make up one party out of a total of 2 in the restaraunt at 12:45am. You would think that even with a skeleton crew they could handle two tables. However, the staff is friendly, so i give that a plus. Ive been here about half an hour and weve only gotten drinks and our orders taken. I've witnessed a man walk out after PAYING for his food and then waiting 23 minutes. So, quite an experience. I hope the food tastes pretty good. Im a fan of Steak n Shakes burgers.
