It's been awhile since I've visited a Steak - N - Shake and since I was in the area, decided to dine in. Interaction with the staff is minimal since you order on a kiosk. We were greeted when we arrived and asked if we needed help ordering. Ordered the bacon double cheeseburger meal and the fries were warm when served. Thankfully they replaced those with fresh ones. The burger had good flavor, but I forgot how thin the burger patty is. We were the only ones dining in, but drive-through was busy. Since the counter isn't manned, the installed a QR code reader to activate the fountain drink machine. The restaurant is clean and staff are friendly.

My first Steak 'n Shake experience and it was okay, more than 3 stars but not near enough to warrant 4. The staff were friendly, along with some of the other patrons that were chatting us up as we ordered food through the self-service screen. The restaurant felt a little dated, but it appeared relatively clean and staff were wiping down tables as we walked in. There was a sticky residue on the floors that made shoes cling a little after each step. The highlight of the visit for me was the onion rings, plus I liked that their condiments were plentiful and self-serve as well - no need to beg! My burger was okay, slightly dry and kinda bland. I could have sprinkled their flavor powder on but I didn't; added ketchup instead.

This Steak & Shake looks a little rundown, but it was clean, and the bathrooms were clean too. You place your order at a kiosk. Pretty easy ordering process. When the order is ready they call your name or an order number is called. We, my 3 grandkids and I were there for about an hour and a half, maybe 2 hours. We had so much fun, the music playing was great! We were all enjoying it. We played some games, we sang, we even did some dancing, and of course, took pictures. This Steak n Shake is very family oriented. A place where you can feed yourself and also have fun....

    Not so clean tables

Place is dirty, food is put together sloppy, tables not wiped down and the floor was disgusting. Burger was decent tasting but I ordered a milkshake with my meal and when they handed it to me it had whip cream and a cherry which I didn't ask for. I said something to the worker he flicked it off in the trash and said is that good..... WOW bad business practice. I will not return to this location again

You called it a Frisco melt with no Frisco sauce. My milkshake wasn't delivered either. Fries have eaten. This is a joke

This is mind numbingly slow. Like they birthed a calf, waited for it to grow, then killed it just to make your burger.

They were moderately busy but not packed at the time. We got our food by the time we had finished getting our drinks. Tables were also being bussed promptly and the restaurant was tidy and clean in general. The chicken fingers themselves were very good quality, and the sauce was different than I was expecting. I liked it well enough but my husband really liked it. The fries were nice and crispy and the coleslaw was one of the better I've had lately. We will come back I'm sure.

We were greeted immediately. I ordered at the counter the basic 3 wings combo (a little over 10 dollars), which included 3 chicken tenders, fries, canes sauce, and a drink. I was told the lemon juice was homemade, so I took that. While the lemons could have been fresher, it was still good with the light of sweetness from the sugar without being overbearing. The 3 chicken tenders are nicely sized and fried perfectly. Crispy breading on the outside, while still being tender and moist on the inside. The canes sauce was mild, but just had the light flavor to enjoy the chicken with. I enjoyed it so much that I used it to dip my fries as well. While most of the fries were crispy and enjoyable, it did get a bit soggy at the end if left out too long. I wish there were more of the cane sauce to enjoy, but it was small portion. Texas toast was also included and that was enjoyable too. It was filling for the slightly over 10 bucks paid. The service was very friendly and cheerful. The staff was upbeat and very helpful, even clearing our plates when done. What I also liked was that there was no option to tip when paying. You just scan your card, and you're done. They call out your name with it is ready, you can pick up the order. The atmosphere is casual with the upbeat dancing music with disco balls in the dining area. If you don't want to go inside, you can use the drive through as well. While it is definitely high in fat and calories, and not the healthiest food, the chicken tenders are very good here. Tender and juicy, while still crispy with the breading. Only combo options are available, and I don't recall whether you can buy anything individually (unless you need an extra item). It's definitely worth visiting for a cheat day, or a nice treat after a hard day's at work or school. Overall: A-

As a previous CFA employee, I would've given ANYTHING to have a fan as big as theirs and a walk-in instead of the drive-thru window. We were through the line pretty quickly, but unfortunately missed our "my pleasure" after thanking them repeatedly. The food was pretty good - our fries were soggy, but luckily we were going home, so I threw them back into the air fryer.

The University and Forsyth location was literally down the road from where I live, I stopped there hoping to simply replace the food I had already paid for. Instead of helping, I was met by a team lead named Adaline and another team lead named Gabriel, who immediately told me they could not exchange the food and that they were not going to give me "free food," even though I had already purchased the meal and only wanted a replacement. Adaline stated, "This is not Walmart, we don't do those types of exchanges," and claimed it was not their fault. Gabriel then told me I could repurchase the same food again at a discounted price. I then asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager available at the time. When I asked for the manager's name, I was told they could not provide it due to "privacy," which made no sense considering employees wear name tags displaying their names. I also asked for the phone number to the location and corporate so I could file a complaint, and they refused to provide it, telling me to "just Google it." The way I was treated was extremely disrespectful and embarrassing, as if I were trying to get something for free, when all I wanted was a replacement for food that was not fresh. To make matters worse, they even threatened to call the sheriff, which was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. This was far from the "my pleasure" customer service experience that Chick-fil-A is known for. I definitely want nearby residents and families to know that this is the kind of service being provided at this location, and experiences like this may explain why the location currently has only 3.5-star reviews.
