First visit was amazing. Incredible food and drinks. Make sure you are hungry before you go. I was and still ended up stuffed after just the wedge salad. Had the onion rings which were great. Steak sauce was delicious. Crab cakes were amazing and the seafood stew was great. Old fashions were perfect. They have a lot of Manhattans available but I prefer old fashions. Next visit will be soon and I plan to do steak and the French onion soup. Quick update, we came back for a second visit and it was even better than the 1st.  I planned to have a wedge salad and a bowl of onion soup but the special was ribeye cap which my wife really wanted so I ordered a filet.  We also did the mashed potatoes and asparagus.  Everything was amazing!  I like my steak more well done and they did it medium well lightly pink but still juicy and delicious.  I got the steak sauce which is incredible.  Very complex flavor profile.  Cocktails were amazing again.  We actually had desert too and the Key Lime Pie was great. Looking forward to trip #3 where I will finally get that onion soup! Another quick update, back for our 3rd visit.  Once again another great meal and incredible drinks.  This is our new favorite place to eat in Boulder.  I still didn't get to try the onion soup but maybe on our 4th visit which will be shortly. Okay, we have been here more that a dozen times but I am going to give my most critical review ever. We just went here with my 19 year old son. He hates everything. We sat at the bar will waiting for our table and he started complaining. This continued after we were seated and ordered appetizers. He ordered the French onion soup, we went for the Caesar salad. My son has never had French onion soup. They brought the bread which my son acknowledged was "really good" after eating four pieces. He also loved the French onion soup. The Caesar was amazing as always. To my surprise my son ordered a steak (which he hates) with the truffle butter. We also ordered the mash potatoes and Mac and cheese. My son ate his entire steak, 3/4 of the Mac and cheese, and a little potatoes. I was shocked. He talked about how good everything was. We closed things out by sharing a piece of cheesecake which was amazing. It ended up being a great family dinning experience with great food, great service, and great conversation. We went back to celebrate our daughter's golden birthday - 25 on the 25th and what better way than to empty our bank account. Service from the hostess to sommelier is spot on. Kudos Steakhouse 316 The steaks were perfection - beautiful cuts, well seasoned and cooked as requested. You know when you got to a steakhouse, you will pay for everything and I mean everything - ok they did bring bread to the table at NC. The bread and butter were OK. We ordered the Tomato & Onion and the simple salad. They were bountiful and delish. Always a good sign when the salads are good and dressed properly. I do like they hold onto the old-style steakhouse traditions such as the tableside Caesar. There were 5 of us and we shared the Branding Iron Onion Rings and YUM. The Prime steaks are seriously worth my firstborn. Filet medium, Tomahawk Rib-Eye med (shared) and Porterhouse rare (shared). We shared Whipped Potatoes (they were ok), Miso Glaze Shishito Pepper, Haricots Verts, Egg (Sauce and egg was the best part - hard to eat), Wild Mushroom Parisian Gnocchi (not so good and would not order again). Although we were all eloquently sufficient, what is a party without dessert? It was a toss-up between chocolate something and bourbon bread pudding. We rolled the dice and picked the bread pudding. unfortunately, I would not order again. There was a lack of flavor and custard consistency. Bottom line - this place offers you three levels of dining with spectacular food, ambiance, and service. Next time I go for the fine dining: * Wine (we ordered 2 bottles) * Onion Rings * Salad * Steak Skip the sides and dessert. Visiting my son in Boulder and on a recommendation from a local, we were told to go to Steakhouse No. 316 We had hi hopes for a nice dinner. Our bar waiter was nice and that's where it ended. It took 25 minutes to get a cocktail and they could have cared less. Our Steaks were not cooked right and the grade of meat was poor. The waiter had to have the manager take over. I waited for my new steak for 20 min and by then my wife and son were finished. They did buy a round and apologized. Owners should have visited various steakhouses. We are from Chicago and have many great steakhouses. I would recommend they revisit how to make it a top restaurant. Decor was nice and music was good. Hope when we come into town next time it has improved. read more

As the vegan daughter who is obligated to attend family dinners, I have to say this is the best steakhouse experience I've ever had. The menu says "inquire about our vegan options" and they really do mean that. Our server, Joe, was very accommodating and knowledgeable on what was vegan and what wasn't (i.e. the bread was vegan except the honey wheat, which, obviously, had honey). They had an excellent vegan entree, the halibut base which was mushroom risotto with extra veggies. The vegan risotto was different than my brother's non-vegan risotto so I know mine had no cheese in it. It was priced at $26 for the vegan entrée whereas the Halibut version was $46; I appreciated that they weren't the same price when mine was missing the most expensive ingredient. The dinner was delicious and the cashew mushroom glazed green beans was probably my favorite part. This review is entirely based on their customer service. I did not even get to taste their food. I placed an order with them on Grubhub. They didn't have the item I wanted and instead of calling me they called the Grubhub driver. I had ordered a striped Seabass which was $38. I asked for a substitution of Dover Sole which was $61 (but the only other white fish on the menu.) They were very rude to the GrubHub driver who was the one who was asking for the substitution on my behalf, based on the way GrubHub works. they are new to Grubhub. I would think they would want the business but apparently not. I order from GrubHub several times a week and I'm always looking for a new place to order from. It's not going to be steakhouse 316 even if their food is good. If they don't understand customer service first and foremost I am not going to give them my business. Period. read more

Second time here. Little subpar compared to the first time , but I'll give them some slack for COVID. Great service. Decent steak. I had the cowboy ribeye. It was .. good. However. I knock them at least a half star for trying to Serve me a "butchers cut, which is the 'eye of the ribeye '". What they were trying to sell me was the eye of the ribeye , and cut off the rib meat to undoubtably sell as a "cap steak" on a different night. This is a trend in steak joints and it pisses me off. If you're gonna well a ribeye ... sell a ribeye. Like I said. I didn't fall for this scam, I had the true ribeye. It was average. Not as good as last time. I can truly say this was one of the best meals I have ever had in Colorado. The caesar salad alone is worth going there for, but my filet with bernaise was to die for. The staff was incredible, and recommended some delicious wines as well. The service started really slow, it took them more than 30 minutes to bring bread and inquire whether we wanted appetizers. The second disappointment was in the steak itself. Two of us had the 8oz filet, the other had the bison steak. They were cooked correctly at medium rare however the seasoning was VERY heavy on the pepper. We were unsure if that was normal for their chef, but we didn't like it. By that time, more than two hours had passed with the salad course (we didn't have apps); we were worn down. Alright... IF, you're in the mood, for LITERALLY, the best steak you've ever had in your life - OR just the best FOOD in general. Hit up Steakhouse No. 316. Oh my goodness. Seriously. I think probably the only other place you could get a steak this good, would be at the OTHER Steakhouse No. 316 in Aspen. I'm a private jet pilot, (how do you know someone is a pilot? They'll tell you) - so I get to travel around A LOT. And Craig Pearce, has created literally, the best atmosphere, and the best food, hands down of any place I've eaten at. I've been to steakhouses in WY, SD, KS, CA, ID, WA, NY, all over - but never had a steak so perfectly cooked, and with such a great compliment of toppings and sides as what is offered at 316. The crab cake appetizer was THE BEST crab cake I've ever had. Not lying. Fluffy, delicious and flavorful. The beer and cocktail selection was also excellent. My Belgian farm-ale was delicious, and my girlfriend had the SASSAFRASS - some kind of cocktail that was quite good. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the blue-cheese bone-marrow topping was splendid on our filets. The side of mushrooms was so good, and the lobster topping was amazing. We also had lobster mac-n-cheese, which was also delicious. Towards the end of our meal, the owner, Craig, even came over to say hello! He treated us to a couple complimentary drinks and was an absolute joy to be around. I honestly cannot recommend a better restaurant to go to in Boulder. Wife and I had a date night so we took a walk towards Pearl St and stumbled upon this place. We sat at the bar and we were almost greeted right away, along with some pleasant,more than icebreaker conversation. Our cocktails were made to perfection and the oysters along with crab cakes came out in a timely manner. Being from the east coast, and having my fair share of seafood I can confidently say that the Oysters were fresh and the crab cakes were without filler. Overall we enjoyed the ambiance and conversation with the bartender. This is the same restaurant that is in Aspen, and I have only once had a properly cooked steak at that location. Typically very overcooked. We have friends that vacation in Aspen and they regularly insist on this restaurant. The food is always underwhelming. As far as the atmosphere goes, its a really nice feel and a great environment to relax and have a nice drink. For this location, its the same, sadly... We decided to give it a go since it is in our back yard now. Wont be coming back until our out of town friends insist on the Aspen location again. Its a shame when you can easily cook a better steak than one your paying $60 for... Seriously, sous vide and a quick sear on a red hot skillet is all you need to make a killer steak. I had east coast oysters to start with and an 8 Oz Filet with sherry mushroom ragout and my fiancé had Mussels and frites and a 32 Oz Cowboy steak with sautéed spinach. Of course he could not finish it all but it was the best steaks ever! Perfectly prepared and succulent. Our waiter was attentive and the service all together was wonderful. We were celebrating a birthday and decided to try this steakhouse on a Saturday evening. Absolutely loved the decor, it was dark and sexy with velvet benches and old framed photos on the wall (despite the Andrew Jackson painting across the room). It felt like an modern yet antique steakhouse. After looking at the menu we decided that we'd sit up front instead and order from the bar/happy hour menu. The dinner menu items were really pricey for items that were not at all interesting or unique. It was typical steakhouse fair i.e. overpriced steaks, chicken, seafood, and boring salads, and sides. We ordered the truffle fries, wedge salad, french onion soup, oysters, crab cakes, and others in our group ordered the steak sandwich and steak and frites. The food was OK. Considering the decor and prices you'd think the food would be amazing but it was what you'd expect for this type of boring steakhouse food, nothing better, nothing less. Having been raised on tableside prepared traditional caesar salad, I also found theirs a little wanting too.........can't put my finger on it......but, prefer the wedge. Sadly, we felt completely "judged" by the staff before we even had a chance to order. Seemingly, there we're many other more important guests around us. Our cocktails took 30 mins to come, and our table side Caesar was served before our drinks even arrived...not what we wanted at all. The man who made our salad was very nice but "couldn't come to our table" so maybe our server should have mentioned that when we ordered "table side" it wasn't actually possible for our spot in the restaurant. Finally our cocktails arrived very late and the "bar tenders were very sorry for our wait". according the waitress...who we saw servicing other tables next to us immediately and with utmost respect. We asked for the wine list, she only brought us glass pours, as if we weren't able to afford a bottle, that was awkward. We enjoyed the food but felt rushed and saw tables next to us having a fine dining experience we we're excited to have and ready to pay for, but again we were extremely disappointed. We asked if there was a specific after-dinner liquor available which we did not see in the menu but didn't order it, and it immediately arrived at our table, as if we had ordered it. It was in fact on our tab, again we did not order it. Will not be going back, nor recommending. Too bad because this place could be a great, luxurious spot but the service is terrible. read more

This place disrespected me and my brother from the start. We walked in and they did not expect us to have reservation. We had to tell them our name three different times. When we were seated they did not bring us a bottle list, as they did not expect us to be able to "afford" a whole bottle of wine - we are only 24 and 25 but we do VERY well for ourselves. After this, I ordered a medium rare bone-in fillet and they brought it out well done. I refused to eat a bite, and they brought out a steak that was. Medium (at best)? But to top it off this table next to us (which was filled with 50-60 year olds) was served instantly. Overall, I would rate my experience as a one star out of five. I would highly encourage people from dinning here. If you want to spend $200 plus, go go somewhere else. read more
