I just don't know about this place. I want to like it. No - I want to love it! Everyone else does! I'm the odd one out who is not overly impressed with this place. I've never been excited by the food I've received here. It's always been 'fine'. Just good enough to accompany my drink but never good in it's own right. Does that make sense? I wouldn't come here just to have a culinary experience, because the food for me just hasn't been that great. The drinks vary in their quality. I've had decent cocktails and bad ones, some that are very artificial tasting specifically. They generally have a good beer list, so I give them that. Service for me has generally been good, but that's barring Friday nights, when it becomes so packed in this little establishment that I become seriously claustrophobic. Then you won't get good service, because the sheer number of people overwhelms the bartenders. Please don't go on a weekend night! You'll regret it. I like this place well enough, I suppose. But I wish I liked it more. It seems like such a cool place on the surface but further scrutiny leaves a lot to be desired. read more

I cannot say enough about this place, the service, the food, the atmosphere it was absolutely amazing. Victoria and Tim went over the top to accommodate our large, loud and over the top party at a last minutes notice. The tables were set (they brought out flowers we dropped off earlier in the day), had our cakes refrigerated until needed. The appetizers we ordered ahead of time were hot and ready to go when our guest arrived (not to mention they were fabulous), drinks served and kept coming. The food that everyone ordered was delicious. The staff was prompt, jovial and did everything with a smile like we had all been friends for a long time. It was bingo night on top of it all and have to say everyone in our group took part... fun times! Again a big shout out to Victoria who was so sweet, helpful and accommodating on such a short notice from my first phone call until the end of the night and to Tim for his great service helping everyone stay feed and hydrated! First of all the train gimmick is great. I was a little thrown off when I walked in because the layout looks like a tap room, but it actually seats a large number. We started with drinks at the bar and were really impressed. They had an ok beer selection, but they had great cocktails, really interesting takes on some classics. Looking at the menu it was clear they prioritize creativity and for the most part it worked. Apps were really good and innovative, but the entrees were just a little too far outside the box. I got a salmon BLT and it was just a little strange. I like that they are willing to try something different. Desserts were fine same kind of stuff you see at most Gastopubs. We left kind of early but they were getting ready for a live band and like a western night and a much younger hip crowd was trickling in. I usually go for a burger with some wings to start, but I have had plenty of other items on the menu. This place can get busy so the service is a bit slow at times. The food is exceptional; they even catered last year's (2022) William Tennent High School's Hall of Fame induction event. Hire them for your catering needs. We came in for lunch on a Monday. It was a pretty cool place though the Hostess seemed less then thrilled to be there. However our waitress was polite and efficient. The Bang Bang shrimp appetizer was generous and very mild in flavor. The breaded wings were crispy and large. What's up with the soupy blue cheese dressing though? I enjoyed the cheesesteak reheated for dinner. That says a lot when it's still good reheated later! They have pretty good food at a fair price. At night on the weekends it is the best singles bar I've been to.

A steak sandwich doesn't have anything on it just a roll and then yoi tell them what you want on it. It was good but i never seen anything like that before? It still worked out the same but if you wanted a chicken cheese steak you have to build it by telling the waitress how you wanted it. I was really looking forward to going to Steam Pub. Everything they post on social media looks fantastic. I was very happy to see that they had a cheesesteak on the menu. I thought they only had Cheesesteak egg rolls. unfortunately it was downhill from there. Our french fries were cold, we didn't say anything because it was our 4th stop and we weren't eating them anyway. The cheesesteak didn't look good on the plate. There was not a lot of meat and I did not like the roll. The meat that was there was good. It had a great amount of cheese and a great melt. We got the caramelized onions which I like and is a cool option. We were there at change of shift and maybe that had everyone a little off their game. It is definitely a very cool building, nice crowd and I loved the decor, including in the bathroom. read more

The food was better in the first few years that they opened. They have nearly no vegetarian options except a lame bean burger that has the consistency of apple sauce. One bite and the burger flies out of the side of the roll. I used to be a regular customer but now that I'm a vegetarian I dine elsewhere. Even Burger King has the Impossible Burger. read more

We came here as guests of Happenings Media, (HM), who were promoting a podcast presentation for prominent small businesses in the area. We have been here before and have sat at the bar and enjoyed it. The place is a pub and ambiance is basic pubbery. Seems to be a real family oriented place as many of the tables were occupied by what looked like young families. It was 6pm on a Thursday evening. We were met by the hostess and seated promptly towards the rear of the restaurant where the presentation was going to take place. We sat at one of the reserved tables. My wife works with one of the evening's honorees. Server came by and was pleasant enough. Unfortunately there was a bit of confusion about who would be paying for our drinks. We had been informed that food and drink would be provided. He returned to report that HM would buy our first round. We asked what Lagers were running on tap. There were none. We asked for any Pilsners that were on tap there were none. We asked for a Stout that was on tap there were none. Seem like this "brew pub" only sells IPA's and other Ales this time. Disappointing. Not everyone in the world likes IPA's. We did order from the limited offering. My California Imperial IPA was fine. Food was brought out buffet style. It was quite tasty and there was plenty of it. The wings and rolls were particularly tasty. The event went off a planned and many photos were taken. It was all good. The bad was the fact that there was no variety of beers offered - a real downer for a place like this. Perhaps it was just a black swan. Our server did explain in some detail how many of the kegs had just "kicked". Not really our concern. I read about Steam in a Yelp review for another restaurant (the author was questioning why anyone would go to the other restaurant when Steam was so much better). I knew we had to check it out and we weren't disappointed. We stopped in for a late lunch and couldn't decide between sharing a bunch of apps or trying their burgers. The burgers were calling our names so we went that route. I was going to try the breakfast burger but couldn't reconcile the idea of maple syrup on a burger so I went with the Wass instead and added a fried egg. It was awesome but really heavy. I couldn't finish it. Fries were just ok - neither of us finished them and next time we'll opt for a side salad instead. My husband got the Brad Fox burger and said there was way too much BBQ sauce but was otherwise perfect. Our 9yo got the pulled pork mac and cheese and devoured it. We were allowed two bites each and the pork was really good, the cheese sauce was light and flavorful and the pasta was cooked perfectly.
