    Beef tripes
    Irene L.

Located close to the busy intersection of grand and Bowery. This cart serves classic Cantonese style of steamed rice rolls. The couple that operates this cart are very nice and polite. It's $6.50 for large container of 10 fish balls and rice rolls. The texture of the rice rolls are firm and chewy. Always add the sesame sauce, sweet soy sauce, sesame seeds, and hot sauce. It's so good and one of the best in town. Also their fish balls already has curry seasoning in it. The beef tripes with radish is another delicious classic. Size small is $3.50. It's soft tender with a slight chew. Support small businesses and try out their food.

I quite like the owner! Every week I'd come order a big one and chat with them. Strongly recommend if you wanna go for fresh yummy one!

They are open everyday as long as the weather is nice. Very hardworking couple. I like their hand made fresh rice rolls. The pork is well marinated. Yummy and cheap definitely a go to place when you are in Chinatown!

Amazing prices, freshly made, flavorful, and generous portions!!! I got the shrimp rice roll with egg and it was fantastic. Owners are super friendly as well :)

If you love rice rolls, you got to come to this cart. Besides the obvious affordable price range of sub $5, it's actually quite good and entertaining. Most shops or restaurants, rice rolls are already prepared. At the cart, they actually steam the roll from scratch in front of you! You get to pick your toppings where be it meat or veggies if you're vegetarian. So fresh hot, made in front of you rice rolls with excellent service. winning combination if you're into more authentic Chinese food. FYI, great place to get a quick breakfast.

Curry fish ball rice noodle with soy sauce and sriracha

Simple and cheap. Great plus is that this place has an English menu so I can order exactly what I want without having to guess what they offer. I got the curry fish balls with rice noodles, medium size. The medium size was actually a lot larger than I thought. I would say order a small if eating by yourself, medium to share. The rice noodles were good, not overly soft. Fish balls were simple and plenty. You have the choice to add sirarcha, soy sauce, hoisin sauce.

Its open whenever the owners like. Went there on 3 different location and lucky third time was the charm. There 3 different sizes to choose from depending on your craving. I got curry fish ball with steamed rolls. It was lacking in flavor so it was a quick snack on the go. They offer you peanut sauce, hot sauce, and soy sauce with your dish.

When I went, it was the male owner selling and he was super nice, making sure he cooked my shrimp rice rolls thoroughly. It was delicious standing at the side eating it on a cold day. The price is extremely reasonable especially since it's often inflated at restaurants around Chinatown.

Cheong Fun with fish balls plus milk tea from nearby bakery

On a Thursday afternoon, I was craving some steamed rice rolls also known as churng fun. The cart is on the north side of Grand Street between Bowery and Christie, but closer to Bowery. The signs are in Chinese, so I just ordered from memory. I swear, these carts used to have curry squid as an option, but no more. Anyway I ordered curry churng fun and fish balls. The man was very nice. The total was $2 and some change. I then went over to a nearby bakery, ordered milk tea that was a dollar, and enjoyed my meal. You really can't beat the price. I'm not sure how well the guy speaks English, so if you are in the mood for steamed rice rolls and fish balls, this is how you say it in Cantonese: Gaa Lay (Curry) Churng Fun (rice rolls) Yuu Dan (fish balls). It's bangin.

The steam rolls are very fresh and the owners are very nice. It's also very affordable and tasty!

I think this is my favorite rice noodle cart in Chinatown. It's super close to the B/D train on grand street. The map is a little off on it because it's on grand and Bowery (closer to Bowery) on the north side of the street. I've only experienced one lady because I go there at the same time and I can talk to her in English. She's really nice and super quick with taking the orders. She basically does three orders at once so you get it very quickly. They prices are also cheaper to the other noodle carts that are in the area. The other carts range from 3.50 to 4 for the same size but this lady charges 3. She's there very early in the morning so be warned! She also starts leaving at around 5:30ish. I wish she stayed open a little later so I could get it after work but it's more of a breakfast meal. If you're in the area definitely stop by and get curry rice noodles with fish balls!

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

I missed a call and literally two minutes later the call came through again and the woman yelled at me - "hurry up hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!" said the driver was waiting 10-15 minutes for me, which was simply untrue - I got a call literally two minutes before- just rude. Added a screenshot in case the owner doubles down that it was 15 mins. Guess the first call was from the delivery driver, and the second was from the restaurant itself. ‍ But the really disappointing part is that they didn't pack any soup separate from the noodles! - So my chicken dumpling noodle soup basically had no soup - don't know if they forgot it or if it was absorbed by the noodles but most restaurants at this point know to pack the broth and the noodles separately,- so I ended up having to add some of my own vegetable broth, which totally was not the flavor I was hoping for. So - love the food, but delivery service leaves a lot to be desired - next time I'll try giving instructions to pack the soup separate from the noodles and see if that helps!

Located within the historic Chelsea Market building--a former Nabisco factory where Oreo cookies were first produced--the restaurant feels theatrical in the best possible way. The soaring ceilings, dramatic lighting, and energetic atmosphere create a sense of occasion from the moment you walk in. It feels less like simply going out to dinner and more like stepping into a beautifully staged production. I started with a Botanist Gin Martini with a twist, which paired wonderfully with the meal. The surprise star of the evening was the new Cucumber Tiger Salad. The balance of flavors was exceptional: bright acidity, a pleasant touch of heat, and just enough mint to make each bite feel fresh and exciting. Every so often the mint would come through and suddenly all the flavors would click together in a way that made me immediately want another bite. This is a dish I would happily order again. Next came the Edamame Dumplings. They were delicate and comforting, especially when enjoyed with the accompanying broth. The broth adds depth and richness that elevates the entire dish. My only suggestion would be the slightest touch more salt, perhaps even a finishing sprinkle of black volcanic salt for both flavor and presentation. I also found myself wishing there were a bit more of that delicious broth because it contributes so much to the overall experience. For my entrée, I ordered the Glazed Alaskan Black Cod, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. The fish was rich, buttery, and perfectly prepared. What impressed me most was how thoughtfully the accompaniments were composed. The pickled cucumbers brought brightness, acidity, and crunch, while the black bean and eggplant relish delivered deep savory notes and unexpected complexity. I'm generally not an eggplant fan, but this relish was outstanding. The cucumbers and relish sit at opposite ends of the flavor spectrum, yet both somehow make the cod even better. Looking back, I think a glass of Sauvignon Blanc alongside the cod would have been the perfect pairing. I finished with the Miso Caramel Milk Bar, which was spectacular. Decadent, sweet, salty, and touched with just enough umami to keep every bite interesting. The chocolate crumble underneath added a wonderful crunch that contrasted beautifully with the creamy ice cream and luscious caramel sauce. Every component worked together perfectly, creating a dessert that was both indulgent and sophisticated. From start to finish, the meal felt polished, thoughtful, and memorable. Thank you!

Then we got a handful of apps - everyone else swore by all the ones they'd had - but I just tried the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and... sweet baby Jesus, this little plate had a wicked amount of flavor from every angle.  "Aggressively seasoned" might be an understatement.  Wild. Onto the mains and I ventured towards their Spicy Drunken Noodle (my go-to whenever I'm hitting a Thai restaurant on my home turf) and... yeah, you probably guessed it - incredible. Not the biggest portion but they made every single component sing with flavor. With so much going on - of course I needed to indulge with another drink (hey, I wasn't driving!). There were six of us, it came to about $100 a person... welcome to NYC. But we did get a wide selection of plates/food and those two drinks accounted for about $40 of my tab. (And you'll never see such a heavy wine pour at a restaurant... they filled the glass almost to the rim - which was not even something I'd do for myself when I'm home.) Definitely recommended.
