5 stars for the crispy chive and pork fried dumplings, 3 stars for the boiled veggie dumplings. This place is cash only and we only had to wait about 10min for our order despite them being pretty busy. They have a few tables, probably close to seating for 15 people. The fried pork and chive dumplings are perfect, lots of flavor and the wrapper is not too thin or thick and nicely crispy on top. The pork inside is juicy and you can get 4 for $2 which is a deal. The boiled veggie dumplings were a bit disappointing as the filling tasted just of cabbage and carrot so they were bland, you get 8 for $6.50. The veggie dumplings benefited from the packets of hot sauce which are quite spicy. I would definitely recommend this spot specifically for the fried pork and chive dumplings. It is also conveniently located across the street from Mei Lai Wah. read more

I think this place is super tasty and delicious! I didn't get to try all the dumplings I wanted during my time in NYC, but I sure did come to this spot twice, and this was my parting meal in NYC. 1st - the price is unbeatable! $6.50 for 10 pork and chive dumplings... are you kidding me? 2nd - quick and friendly service. Cash only. I really wanted to give this all of it's stars but my minor critique here: I think the dough is a little too chewy and needs a good, 1-2 minutes longer in the cook. Not too long, but I was questioning the doneness of the filling a little bit... and the chew of the dumplings would be perfection if just slightly softer by a minute. Otherwise, the texture of the dough is good in terms of quality. Not too thick and not too thin - holds the fillings well. Overall, a solid 4.5/5. Otherwise, filling is insanely juicy and delicious. I think this one has the perfect taste. It's flavorful, has good seasoning, and really goes well with the dumpling wrapper. It speaks for itself - and I personally did not think it needed any sauce of spice to it. I just wanted to enjoy the flavors of the juicy dumplings alone (and that says a lot). Very pork forward, which I like. Good tender filling, no complaints! Small restaurant - I wish it opened sooner than 11am! But super friendly, quick service, and enough tables to sit down and eat if you wanted to. I came during the evening twice - once 10 minutes before closing and around 4pm a few days later. No issues in wait-time. Great price for some great dumplings! read more

I grew up down here. Given the endless supply of social media foodie influencers inundating us w Chinatown content prices everywhere have risen ten fold. Long gone are the days of 5 dumplings for a buck, but still in the current economy 4 dumplings for $2 dollars nowadays is a bargain. There far from the best, but they're also so far from the worst. Throw a little Sriracha, hot oil and soy sauce, wash it down with a Diet Coke and you are good to go. Tasty Dumpling in! read more

Great deal AND delicious food. You can get 4 dumplings for a 2 dollars, which is incredible. I got the pork and chive dumplings and a pork pancake. Highly recommend the pancake as long as you eat it hot and fresh! It gets busy at lunch, but the service is fast and there are tables where you can sit. Doesn't really get too loud though. Definitely a quick spot to eat, and I saw lots of people doing take out. Highly recommend if you're in Chinatown! read more

Nowadays it's hard to find cheap and delicious dumplings like the good old days ( before inflation). So this spot was quite nostalgic. Even though the store does not put much effort in their interior, they do put a lot of effort in making the dumplings good! They do not skimp out on the fillings. If youre just getting the dumplings, service is instant. We added the Roast Pork Pancakes which added a few minutes to the wait time, but it was well worth it. Overall, the Pork and Chive fried dumplings were decent, and the speed and price definitely add some points to it. The true star was the Pork Pancake. read more

Went around lunchtime on a weekday and went up to order. I got the fried chive and pork dumplings (4 for $2) and it was amazing -- had the perfect crispy bottom. I'm not normally a fan of chive (or scallions / other green onions varieties) but it was hidden in the pork well enough that I couldn't taste it. There is indoor seating but definitely a bit limited when there's a lot of customers. Great for a quick bite and a delicious dumpling! read more

This spot is so popular for the cheap food, but I didn't think they are that special. I ordered the Chive & Pork Panfried Dumplings ($2 for 4pcs) and Scallion Pancake ($3). The food was ready in a few minutes as you can see the panfried dumplings already cooked and sitting on the wok, so they weren't the freshest. I also found the dumpling wrapper to be on the thick and chewy side, so good if that's your preference. I prefer my dumplings thin and crispy instead. The hot sauce they had was quite watered down as well, so didn't make the dumplings any better. While the dumplings were a letdown for me, I did really enjoy the scallion pancake. It's a huge piece cut in half, so it feels like you get two pieces. This was freshly cooked, so it was hot and crispy while being chewy on the inside. The scallion pancake had the perfect texture and flavor, so I'd only come back for this. read more

Second stop in the walking dumpling tour (list in profile) and it did not disappoint. Would rank it a solid 4 out of 6 spots I visited. Another one of the original spots for fried dumplings, this place was good. Filling was generous and extremely flavorful but the outer layer was soggy and falling apart. I ordered 30 dumplings for the group and I think a good 10 had a broken outer layer which made it come in 4th instead of 3rd. A nice store front directly across from Columbus park with plenty of seating, orders were generated relatively fast. A lot of people were eating the steamed and fried dumplings. I think this place could easily be thrown into the discussion for BEST fried dumplings in Chinatown if their pan fried dumpling were.... actually fried. Unfortunately, a dumpling that cannot live up to its name of being pan fried cannot be a dumpling nominated to be the best in Chinatown. read more

We hit this spot every time we visit chinatown. Cash only spot for a quick cheap bite. My partner loves the beef pan fried dumplings for their thick outer skin and juicy meat. The lady behind the counter is so sweet. Unfortunately, the cabbage pork dumplings wasn't the best. They didn't have chive with pork which is what I usually get from dumpling shops. It was pan fried, but it wasn't crispy or crunchy at the bottom. The dumplings were also warm and not hot. It was soft and all of them were broken so there weren't any juices inside the dumplings. I probably didn't get a good batch. The meat is also too fatty and soft. For $2, you get 4 dumplings and it's a steal. The interior is standard with table and chairs. My friend and I were craving dumplings in Chinatown, and we settled on this spot. The tables were quite dirty and the cashier wasn't the friendliest person; generally hole-in-the-wall places don't have the best service, but the food can be incredible. The menu here was super affordable. Please note that this is a cash-only establishment. I ordered Cabbage & Pork Boiled Dumplings (10 for $5.50), while my friend got a Scallion Pancake ($3) and Shrimp & Chive Boiled Dumplings (8 for $7). The chefs were generous with the meat inside the dumplings. However, the pork dumplings were way too tough and all the dumplings had very thick skin. Flavor-wise, the Shrimp & Chive Boiled Dumplings tasted better than the pork ones. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the Scallion Pancake; it was delicious and very soft. I do think this restaurant is a great option if you're looking for affordable food, but I personally wouldn't recommend it to those seeking authentic Chinese dumplings. read more

Last of the reviews from our trip a month or so ago to Chinatown, NYC. I had a lot of people tell me the fried dumplings here were incredible. Maybe it was just because of how much they were talked up, but I didn't find them to be as great as people lead on. These were by no means bad, but I've had better dumplings at no less than 4 other Chinatown spots. They should change the name of the place to "Tasty Scallion Pancake" though because these may be the best scallion pancakes I've had anywhere. Perfect consistency and good scallion flavor throughout. I really despise when scallion pancakes hold a lot of oil in them and these were light and not oily. For sure I'd recommend them to anyone. The establishment was barely acceptable as far as cleanliness goes too, and that's coming from someone who is very lenient on those types of things. The woman was friendly enough taking orders, and the prices were good. Definitely Didn't Suck, but I'd get the scallion pancakes and some other dishes next time and skip the dumplings read more

I was really excited to try Tasty Dumpling after seeing it on TikTok lol. It was not as I expected or I guess rather I should have expected to get what you pay for. The service was super fast. I got my order as soon as ai paid. Four pork and chive fried dumplings for $2 is incredibly cheap! However, it tasted like it had been cooked in old oil and reheated. I won't be returning but feel free to try. read more

super low key cheap and tasty spot to get hot and fresh dumplings! I literally could have eaten several orders! Downsides were the sauces, cleanliness, and how long it took to actually get my order. This place is pretty busy and they make all their food fresh to order so it takes a while to actually get your food. Sauces on the side, although they weren't that great and pretty diluted with water. looks like a family owned and run place. No frills location, cash only. This plus the line out the door is how you know the food is good. The dumplings were so incredibly delicious and had a homemade taste. The wrapper is thick and chewy in the best way possible. They offer a plethora of dumpling filling options as well as cucumber salad. They even sell frozen dumplings to take home!! Once you receive your order, they have a nice soy based sauce you can add on top. Totally recommend to try this place if you're in the area don't hesitate. As a tourist, I am sad I don't live here so I could have these dumplings more often but I'll be back. read more

One of my favorite dumpling spot in the city. CASH ONLY! Cheap, quick, no frills and delicious offerings. This spot has a few tables for patrons to dine in. Self clean up as there is a trash bin to the side with tray return on top. Sauce condiments on the table and just ask them for a quick table cleanup if the previous patrons were messy. Menus located on top, easy to read and order at the front. Came here the other day with my cousin for food crawl. Grab 2 orders of dumplings (pork with chive & pork with cabbage) and an order of their scallion pancake. We wanted to try the golden pancake but they were out. We wanted to know what it is as it sounds intriguing but maybe next time. The scallion pancake was freshly made and lightly fragrant with have limited scallions. You would think being a scallion pancake, there would be alot of scallions. It's soft and fluffy. The dumplings were crisp on the outside and juicy/tender on the inside. We douse it with the dumpling sauce and hot sauce. The hot sauce is watered down of course, so it's not spicy and lack the flavor we wanted. read more

Overall Thoughts: The dumplings and wontons here are tastier than MANY other spots in Chinatown at an even lower price-- we got a good amount of tasty food for 2 people for under $15. If you want to sit inside, make sure to come early or during off-peak hours. I avoided the line at ~3pm on a Saturday and found a table, but at ~4pm, a longer line started to form and it got a lot more crowded. The service is efficient and the line moves quickly. Food I tried: - Pork & Chive Pan-Fried Dumplings (4.3/5): These were good-- the exterior was really crispy and the oil really brought out the flavor of the skin. The filling had good, salty flavor too. - Mushroom & Chicken Boiled Dumplings (4.4/5): I wish I got these in soup because it would've enhanced the flavor further, but these were already great even without soup. I really liked the flavor of the chicken and mushroom filling, and it being boiled allowed me to fully taste and appreciate the doughy chewiness of the dumpling skin. - Shrimp, Pork, Watercress Wonton Soup (4.5/5): These pork wontons were delicious-- the skin is light and thin, and the filling flavor is delicious and salty. I would come back, but please don't beg for tip especially when it's difficult to do so.

The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

Guess the first call was from the delivery driver, and the second was from the restaurant itself. ‍ But the really disappointing part is that they didn't pack any soup separate from the noodles! - So my chicken dumpling noodle soup basically had no soup - don't know if they forgot it or if it was absorbed by the noodles but most restaurants at this point know to pack the broth and the noodles separately,- so I ended up having to add some of my own vegetable broth, which totally was not the flavor I was hoping for. So - love the food, but delivery service leaves a lot to be desired - next time I'll try giving instructions to pack the soup separate from the noodles and see if that helps!

Located within the historic Chelsea Market building--a former Nabisco factory where Oreo cookies were first produced--the restaurant feels theatrical in the best possible way. The soaring ceilings, dramatic lighting, and energetic atmosphere create a sense of occasion from the moment you walk in. It feels less like simply going out to dinner and more like stepping into a beautifully staged production. I started with a Botanist Gin Martini with a twist, which paired wonderfully with the meal. The surprise star of the evening was the new Cucumber Tiger Salad. The balance of flavors was exceptional: bright acidity, a pleasant touch of heat, and just enough mint to make each bite feel fresh and exciting. Every so often the mint would come through and suddenly all the flavors would click together in a way that made me immediately want another bite. This is a dish I would happily order again. Next came the Edamame Dumplings. They were delicate and comforting, especially when enjoyed with the accompanying broth. The broth adds depth and richness that elevates the entire dish. Looking back, I think a glass of Sauvignon Blanc alongside the cod would have been the perfect pairing. I finished with the Miso Caramel Milk Bar, which was spectacular. Decadent, sweet, salty, and touched with just enough umami to keep every bite interesting. The chocolate crumble underneath added a wonderful crunch that contrasted beautifully with the creamy ice cream and luscious caramel sauce. The best item we ordered was the breakfast sandwich with hashbrown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. I think the eggs are cooked with cheese, and as someone who typically does not eat cheese, I didn't mind it. I don't know if I'll be back again - I think the concept of an asian twist on the classic diner does sound intriguing but difficult to execute. I also wasn't a big fan of the wait time. If you typically like heavier, diner food then this spot might be the place for you!
