Despite communicating this clearly, onions were still brought with my food. Unfortunately, I ate an onion and experienced an allergic reaction. What made the situation even more upsetting was that the server did not seem concerned or show much care about the seriousness of what had happened. Food allergies are not simply a preference or something that should be taken lightly--they can be a serious health and safety issue. What is especially disappointing is that I frequently visit another Pappadeaux location and have always had a much better experience. That location follows proper procedures when I inform the staff about my allergy, which shows that accommodating and protecting guests with food allergies can be done. I hope management takes this situation seriously and provides additional training regarding food allergies, communication with the kitchen, and how staff should respond when a guest has an allergic reaction. I enjoy this restaurant chain, but this experience was unacceptable and made me feel that my safety and concerns were not taken seriously.
