Kevin answered the door and gave me the downlow on the selection, the fact that they're a "member-centric" club, but friendly for visitors. Only after did he mention that he was a member and not an employee. Any owner who inspires that kind of loyalty in customers has to be great. Kevin then introduced me to Jazzi, the owner, and I wasn't disappointed. Jazzi gave me some more in-depth information on their cigars and provided me a gratis pour of whiskey... Whistlepig, no less!!! The interior is clean, the air quality is well above average, and the regulars were all friendly. Proprietors were excellent, but the wrapper on my Perdomo Reserve started unraveling due to a poor straight cut. Lesson learned, bring my cutter and do it myself. Cigar was a touch dry for me. Everyone has their own taste so I can't fault them there, but I would have preferred a touch higher humidity. Prices are fair for a local store though, and the shop is clean, so it's a place I would definitely visit again. Edit 7/4: Updated my review to a 5 star review. It didn't seem fair to knock a star for a poor cut. It's the machine's fault, not the business. read more

I show up to the door and they have a sign to ring the doorbell , my friend and I both waiting outside and no response so we look inside the shop and the person I'm charge is just sitting down. I said that I would like to become a member. The voice inside said "It's members only night. Good night". Bottom line, it's a private club, and they won't let you join. Don't waste your time. In Sacramento for business and had some time to kill. Looked up this place. Wanted to kick back with a nice cigar. Opened at noon today. Paid to park, and as I walked up, I saw a big fully-lit "OPEN" sign. I rang the bell. No answer. I looked at the hours sign, which confirmed that they opened at 12 on Saturdays, and rang the bell again. No answer again. I dialed the phone number. Someone answered, and I explained that I was outside and that all of the signs showed they were open, but that no one was answering the door. The guy on the other line said, "Yeah, we're open for a members' event today for about another hour. Sorry, bud." There were no signs anywhere to that effect. This place is a GEM! I was planning a date night for my husband and came across this new spot. One of our favorite things to do is find a lounge where my husband can have a cigar, I can have a couple drinks, and we can relax in a nice atmosphere. Being from San Francisco where there's only one decent cigar lounge, my expectations for finding a nice place here in Sacramento were low. Well, it's safe to say Steampunk blew us away! I called ahead to make sure non-members could stop in and when he heard we were in from out of town, Jazzi, the owner, invited us in to show us some "Sacramento hospitality." And he definitely did! He was so warm and inviting. We could tell he took a lot of pride in this lounge - it's really nicely decorated and feels like a super comfy living room. Best of all, for me anyway since I don't smoke, is it's well-ventilated! My husband ended up having 2 cigars and since they don't have a bar, we brought our own liquor to share. The music was perfect for relaxing and there are a couple TVs if a big game is on. This place is wonderful! I had been searching far and wide for a cigar lounge that had an atmosphere up to my standards. Most places I had found were cigar/hookah lounges or just kind of dingy looking. My husband is a huge cigar lover and enjoys sitting back for a couple hours just to decompress. On top of that my sister lives with us and watches her three year old and mine and my husbands two year old at home full time. Yesterday was her birthday and I thought a nice relaxing experience with some scotch and a cigar would be a perfect way to celebrate. She turned 22 but isn't into the party scene. So I called steampunk cigar Co. Jazzi the owner answered. I told him what we were looking for and he immediately welcomed us to come on in and enjoy the experience. He was so kind and accommodating for them. And the members treated them with welcoming arms as well. Great cigars and a quiet relaxing atmosphere with great conversation. Perfect place to unwind. This is going to be officially our new regular spot! After a long week of work and full time toddler care, this place offers the self care the three of us need. This is by far the best cigar lounge in all of California and probably the states. My father and I went together and had a great time. It was a really windy day out in Sacramento and it was great being able to enjoy a good cigar indoors. We both picked from their selection which is marked up a bit nothing crazy and was totally reasonable (having to pay the bills and all). The owner is a great guy who helped me pick out a great cigar. My father who's been smoking for years thought their selection was great. The atmosphere was amazing. The seats are comfortable and the smooth jazz they had playing fit very well. The building has a great ventilation system so you don't feel like your swimming in smoke or anything, yet it still held the great smell of nice cigars.
