Officially, this place won't be open until around October, according to the owner. However, they are doing a soft opening this weekend, to introduce themselves to Lockport. It promises to be a pretty nifty place for Lockport. The owner is doing small batch roasts in the store which are available for sale now. I'm not sure if they have a website but I'm sure of you contact them via facebook, you can get some beans before they open. This weekend they were doing pour overs of three of their varieties in addition to a cold brew offering that is a blend of their medium and dark roast. The shop is sparsely furnished at the moment, a few tables and chairs and lots of games available. I can picture settling in on a winter day with a good cup of Joe and a board game with a friend. I had a cup of the Colombian coffee and it was delicious! Hearty without being bitter. The cold brew was equally tasty, slightly sweet, again, no bitterness and low on the acidity. This coffee shop is a little out of the way. The parking lot had only two spaces available, even though there were very few customers inside. The coffee was OK, but nothing special. The clerk was courteous. They offered toasted bagels, but the butter is always on the side forcing you to butter your bagel in your car. I've just recently started getting into coffee, especially lattes and Steamworks was the first place I went to about a month ago. Since then I pretty much go every single week and bring along my brothers/best friends. Try the cinnamon rolls (WARMED UP) and the muffins; chocolate chip is my favorite! When I first started going there they didn't have a rewards system but just recently got one; buy 10 get one free. Since the app started more recently, the manager recognized me from previous visits so he added punches to the app from previous purchases so I didn't have to start from scratch. Also on the app where they keep your rewards, they have deals and discounts! The prices for the coffee and pastries are decently priced, won't break the bank that's for sure! Staff is so amazing and nice I've never once had a problem with them; they're also very talented when it comes to latté art! Also a bonus, this cute little café is along the canal so I'm sure in the summer time when you can enjoy your drink outside the sight and surroundings will be beautiful! Lockport is so lucky to have a coffee shop like this. Their hours are extremely convenient which is nice in a small town. Love the atmosphere and the new mural they have from another local business. This place is the perfect alternative to making the trek out to Starbucks for a decent latte. They also have very good wifi which makes it easy to go there to work a few hours sometimes. There is usually plenty of parking and seating. Its fun to watch the kids draw on the chalkboard wall, too. The coffee that make is absolutely the best there is for miles around.
