Food looks better than it tastes. The salmon tasted like it had been frozen. The crab cake was super mushy, looked like lump from the outside inside was mush. Sunset shrimp they're take on bang bang shrimp we're soggy, way too much sauce. Mostly tasted like mayo. The server was nice and the place is roomy not stuffy. Save your money and try somewhere else. This is my favorite restaurant in Harford county. I have never had a bad meal here. The Firehouse burgers and chicken sandwiches are great and I love the chicken caeser salad too. The dressing is never too heavy, just a light proportionate amount. This is the only restaurant that I don't have to ask for the dressing on the side. The crab blend soup is a favorite of mine and the Chrisfield Chicken is awesome. My husband loves the tacos, especially the seasoned rice that comes on the side. We visit several times a month. They have lost our office business. Within the past month we have tried to call in an order and no one answers the phone. We were told they don't have anyone to answer the phone on Tuesdays? Our order did not have sour cream. The fries were to be sweet potato fries - they were soggy regular fries. We are very disappointed with this restaurant and will not be coming back. read more

I decided to dine here the evening of January 18th 2020, during restaurant week as a visitor from Charlotte. The server, Judy was very accommodating , attentive, and a real pleasure to dine with. I wanted an appetizer of crab cakes, which weren't available, but she offered the crab balls; which surprisingly were very much like limo crab cakes. I also ordered jumbo stuffed shrimp as an entree and my friend ordered Ulysses seafood pasta for his entree. Both dishes were very well seasoned, flavorful and very fresh. I asked for a few other condiments, and Judy was right there to assist. I commend this restaurant not only for their amazing food, but also for their stellar service. Great job! We went to Steelefish for my hubby's birthday. We enjoyed the Sunset Shrimp app, which is similar to bang bang shrimp but a 1,000x better in my opinion. I had the glazed salmon for dinner. Good flavor, cooked well, good portion size. The rice was flavorful but not over seasoned. The broccoli had cheese and bread crumbs on it - husband ate it and said it was good, but I wouldn't know since I don't eat cheese. He had the Ahi Tuna wrap which he enjoyed. The old bay chips were sooo good. Our server, Michael, was attentive, quick and very helpful with making selections and giving recommendations. We plan on going back. read more

I'll start this review by saying that, to be perfectly fair, I had no issues with the food whatsoever. My group enjoyed our appetizers, drinks, and entrees. Other than my meat not being prepared as I requested (totally forgivable), the food was fine and we were treated courteously by our server. However, we had a significant issue with the management, and at the end of an otherwise pleasant celebratory evening with friends, we were left with a very bad impression, despite having dined here numerous times since the place opened. Here's the problem... Our group was out enjoying dinner and drinks on a Saturday night to celebrate birthdays for 3 people in our party. At the close of the night, a few of us decided that getting a cab home would be the best thing, so as to avoid "imperial entanglements" and to ensure our safety. We are all well into our 30's/early 40's, professionals, and responsible. So, nobody wants to take chances. We asked the bartender if he would mind calling us a cab (we live less than 10 minutes away), and we were told: "I'm from Dundalk, I can't help you." Really?? That's a new one. I wonder how the ever-vigilant Harford County Liquor Board would feel about that answer? We then asked the manager (younger, probably 40-something gentleman with a shaved head) to help us get a cab. He advised that they had no knowledge of local cab companies, and while having this important conversation with us, decided to start high-fiving some new patrons that arrived. The manager abandoned his conversation with us, during which he had been inattentive and dismissive, at best. I was floored with the lack of consideration, courtesy, customer-service, and awareness on his part and the part of the bar staff concerning our request. I used to bartend some years ago. I remember receiving safety training and customer service training. Running a bar and restaurant is more than mixing a cocktail or pulling a tap handle. Steelefish, you just lost some diners. Only come here when I have to. Food is OK, but the service is seriously lacking. Last time here, I waited 30 minutes for my beer and over an hour for my sandwich. We have visited this establishment many times. The first time I believe was a Friday night and it was rockin'. They had a live band--they played so loud you could barely hear each other speak. But aside from that, the food and the service was amazing. We have experienced a wait time only twice, but the hostess accommodated us quickly both times. (Very pleasantly, I might add.) I've tried several different dishes and I have never been disappointed. They have an appetizer on their menu called Shrimp Poppers... We order it every time and it is delish! There is another restaurant in the vicinity that offers something similar, and people rave about it. But there is no comparison to Steelfish Grille's version. I highly recommend it! Arrived at Steelefish at 6:30 on a Thursday and were seated right away. We had made a reservation just in case, but it turned out to be completely unnecessary. Our overall experience can be summed up in one simple word: Meh. Our server was attentive and prompt, so I can't fault them there. The makeover they gave this place was a real step up from the previous tenant. We ordered the crab dip to start and have no complaints about it. It was creamy and seasoned well, covered in cheese and served with slightly toasted bread. A good start to an adequate meal. My husband ordered the wings as his entree and polished them up. He was not impressed, but had no complaints either. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese. Gotta be honest - not sure what everyone raves about. At first glance, it seems like a great dish with alot of bang for the buck. But when you actually eat it, you realize it's extremely bland and the lobster is all claw meat which is cheap and tastes as much. So while the portion size and price were appropriate, I won't be going back for it. We ordered the grilled chicken for the kid, which looked nice but he refused to eat it because it was charred. There's a fine line between grilled and burnt and this chicken crossed it. We ended up taking the entire chicken piece home to the dogs. They don't mind burnt food. Overall, a decent meal at a decent price but certainly not something we are going to travel for. Glad for the experience, not in any rush to repeat it. read more

We were a party of 7 on a Friday night. I had heard the food was good. But the service maybe not so much. We had Zach. Zach was pretty darn good. . The only negative to the evening was they "ran out" of 2 of their crush drink flavors. That was disappointing. But, be that as it may, you can't beat the original orange crush anyway. My sweetie had a seafood pasta that was in more of a garlic butter sauce as opposed to a creamy sauce. My fish tacos were absolutely wonderful. I'm told the oysters were really good. I'm not a fan. This was my first visit since it changed to Steele Fish. I like what they've done to the place. I can't wait for it to get warmer so I can see the outside seating. They've put TVs everywhere, just like a lot of places. But that is okay with me since I'm a sports nut. They expanded the bar seating area with a bunch of round high tops. First time coming here. I always go to the Lodge since it's closer but always heard great things about Steelefish. I love their options for lunch (pick 2 for 7.99*). The lodge doesn't have a lunch menu so it was nice to see. I had Shannon and she was bubbly, informative and attentive and made a great crush. I got the house salad and Italian cold cut. They have a playground which is great for our kids. The food is fantastic. They have an outdoor area as well as an indoor area as well as a partially enclosed outdoor area.
