This is basic run of the mill stuff that most anyone could throw together if they sat in a pizza shop all day - nothing creative about it - RTP has more flavor. We've been eating Stefano's pizza for over 30-years. We have finally decided that we are done with Stefano's. The guys that work there are impolite, discourteous, and they generally act like you are disturbing them by entering their restaurant. The pizza has become over the years worse and the prices have become unreasonable. We are sorry to leave a longtime Mill Valley business; however, the time has come to leave Stefano's behind and take our business elsewhere. We have thrown enough money at Stephanos in Mill Valley over the years to have a good idea of the service. The person that answers the phone today for our order was rude!! He shouldn't be answering phones if his people skills are that bad. I was hung up on and and promptly called back and told him, to which he responds, " what do you want?" Stefano's just lost a 15 year long customer. Obviously I always thought the pizza was alright to have gone back over that long of a span. Not great, and nowhere near NYC street slices, but one of the better delivery options for Southern Marin. But their delivery practices are an absolute deal breaker. This was the 2nd attempt in a row that took at least an hour & a half for delivery. Tonight was actually 4 minutes short of 2 HOURS. I was told 45 mins when I placed the order. And naturally, the pizza was cold. Nothing like paying full price for a pizza with hard cold cheese. I'm officially out. I would be a moron to let you ditch me with a crew of hungry (and therefore cranky) kids yet again. read more

Ive been a long time stefanos fan. Their Pizza used to be good. WHAT HAPPENED STEFANO'S. We ordered a large pepperoni with mushrroms and brocolli. The cheese was flavorless, the mushrooms dried out. The sauce you could barely taste and just plain blah dough. I ate two slices my date none and then ended up throwing the rest in the trash it was just that bad. The pizza used to be great here. I loved it. It has gone so down hill that I can no longer support them. Goodbye Stefano's. read more

We ordered several different types for a going away party at work. Got in and had a bit of a wait for our pizza to finish. The location is a bit difficult as downtown Mill Valley is hard to find parking in and the streets are a bit puzzle-like. Lots of school kids hang out here. Also excellent because of their environmental thinking. All of our pizza's tasted pretty good. I wasn't blown out of the water, but for a non-pizza lover, the desire to return to grab a slice if I'm in the area speaks lengths to the good job that they did do! They have all different combinations that are very different from other pizza places I have been to. Prices are a bit high. Wait time can be long. Small location may make seating difficult if you choose to eat in. Parking, definitely a challenge, but it's a local family business! read more

Grabbed a (giant) slice while on my way to Frostings for a cupcake and was pleasantly surprised! For 3 bucks I got a slice the size of 3 - good cheese, thin tasty crust, little greasy but didn't need a napkin to sop up anything. It was a perfect appetizer for my main course - a Frostings cupcake :) read more

This is a review by a vegetarian Solid by-the-slice pizza. Though it's only the 2nd time it's happened I'm getting a little tired of asking for "a slice" to be presented with a "super-slice" which is just two regular slices that haven't been %100 severed from each other. Enough with the upselling. No one consumes more pizza per pound of body-weight than me. Still $4.50 for two regular slice is a fair price (Are you listening Slice of New York in Sunnyvale?). Okay I'm giving this place 3 stars based on this being the west coast. In other words, it's all relative. I probably wouldn't pick this place back east for delivery, but out here it's the closest I've had to NY style pizza. The pizza is good, toppings are decent. Now if they could actually deliver it to me and keep it a little better than luke warm all would be good. In years past the pizzas were pretty good. Not great but more than acceptable. It was convenient and quick. That's probably still true but their app and website is so antiquated that the chance of there being a pizza ready when you order it ... or ever ... is 50/50 at best. I ordered, showed up, and they had nothing. Goodbye. I left, went to the far better Tamalpie on Miller Avenue. It takes a bit longer but unlike Stephanos, the place is well run, reliable and has a better pizza. read more

Ordered a pizza and it came an hour late .. overcooked, much too thin crust (for a regular crust order) and cold. I dont think they could have messed a pizza any worse. Not much more to say.. it was clearly left in the oven too long.. where the cheese gets more brown and stiff and the crust spread too thin while prepared. The cooks clearly couldnt care less about the quality of the pizza .. then the hour it sat in a car. No more orders from this place. Garbage. read more

We lived in Mill Valley a few years ago and we ordered from Stefano's a few times. I don't remember it being great pizza, but it was always at least, good pizza. We Recently we moved back to Mill Valley, less than a block away from Stefano's. We like to keep our money local so we ordered again. The first delivery was literally 20 minutes, YAY! The driver mentioned that for some reason they had recorded my house # as 67 instead of the correct 57, we also noticed that they had started charging a 3.00 delivery fee, we tip well anyway so it wasn't a big deal. The crust was a little bit soft, but it wasn't a big deal- and we forgot about it. About a month later we ordered again, and I made sure to tell the guy on the phone that we lived at house # 57, he confirmed that the address had been incorrectly recorded on the previous order. The pizza took an hour for delivery, and the delivery guy had to call because he (once again) had the wrong address, we tipped anyway, but again we noticed a soft under-cooked crust so we stopped ordering from them. Tonight we gave them yet another chance, again I went out of my way to explain the address situation to the guy on the phone. about 30 minutes later I got a call from a guy asking for the address! I gave it to him and expected him to be there in a few minutes. No...Twenty minutes later I get ANOTHER call from a completely different phone # asking for the address. I gave it again, expecting him in a few minutes. TWENTY MINUTES LATER a guy shows up with the pizza. It wasn't in an insulated sleeve, just the box. IT WAS COLD. IT WAS SOGGY. IT WAS FUCKING AWFUL PIZZA. The worst part is that I actually tipped the driver additional to the delivery fee. AGAIN. Bottom line is that I would rather puke and eat it than EVER call these people again. read more

The pizza reminded me of the french Riviera, they use aromatic olive oil spiced with cayenne peper over thin crust. The place is frequented by teens may be because each slice gets you free soda. For health conscious eaters order their salad: it is very fresh and better than what you will find at more expensive restaurants nearby. My kids are 17 and 19, so I've had my share of really bad pizza in my time.... after sports parties, kids birthday parties, etc. Nasty Dominos or Round Table pizza ... ugh. I had almost sworn off of pizza. So it was a relief to finally find some yummy, consistent pizza. Crispy but chewy dough? Check. Plentiful and fresh toppings? Check . Mill Valley reminds me of the NCAL version of Sedona, Arizona. My friends at Kaiser Permanente recommended this place to me for the $4.50 special--two slices and a soda. Indeed it is a good deal. The pizza is okay. If you have ever been to Chuck E Cheese, this is the same pizza that they serve except the slices are smaller. It is certainly enjoyable to eat, but I would not recommend it to me. It seems there are very few places to eat in Mill Valley, CA. read more

Great locals choice for Delivery in Mill Valley. I ordered of Eat24 because I was craving pizza during the storm we were having. So I ordered the meat lovers in a large size and boy was it MEATY. Such a great combo of meats (pepperoni, sausage, salami, ham) and a great size for 2 hungry guys. We also checked in on Yelp to get the free breadsticks which were also a great complement to our meal. I would definitely recommend for fast delivery locally and very easy ordering system here on Eat24. read more

ok, so I haven't eaten here in a while, but my office has been ordering delivery from them, and it is a completely hideous experience. The drivers refuse to bring the pizza into the office, even though it is only 10 steps (not stairs!) The drivers are rude, and completely unhelpful. They often don't have the correct information as to who the pizzas are for. Also, the pizza is always cold by the time it arrives. I would not waste a penny on this place, especially since there are really great pizza places in southern Marin. read more

I suppose I can say I am a fan of Stefano's Pizza because I eat here at least once a week. Their Pizza's are really good for being "solar powered." I don't have a usual dish I like to mix it up from time to time however there are two Pizza combinations that I am a huge of. Pizza combination one... Peperoni, Linguica, extra cheese with mushrooms and spinach. Pizza combination two pesto sauce with extra cheese, chicken mushrooms and spinach! Both are crazy good! This is some of the worst pizza we've ever had. The price isn't even right it's $5 for a slice and soda and they don't even have good soda, I thoght RC went out with the 90's. Arrived around 5:30 and decided to order a large pepperoni pizza- Caesar salad and the garlic bread. The pizza was pretty good - not the most flavorful, but the crust was crunchy and well cooked. The salad was fresh and had bottled Caesar dressing-nothing to brag about other than it could have fed an army. The gal said it was for two people. I showed her the yelp ad for free garlic bread when checking in - so they honored it. It's basically soft bread with garlic cut into small pieces with ranch dressing. Again, nothing special , but pretty good. The place is small with only one table to sit 4 people- with all the other two top tables ( 4 total I think) it isn't he cleanest and the plates, napkins, drinks, cups are all self serve. We had to wipe off our table ourselves or we were out of luck. Customer service obviously isn't their strong suit. They have a large menu- chicken wings etc.. but we didn't go there. Would I give them another try?..... yes, I think so- but again, nothing to brag about- or do I see myself craving their pie. read more

I placed my order at 7:17 PM, got an immediate confirmation, then no update until the pizza arrived at 9:01 PM - 1 hour and 45 minutes later - by which time I'd given up anyway. Not bad, definitely a step up from Dario's. But once again, the pizza ends up falling apart if too many toppings are piled on. Best bet is to stick with the pepperoni, as it seemed to be fully cooked, with a darker brown crust. They also claim to run their business on Solar Power energy. Okay, here's the truth about Stefano's. I live very close to it, don't dispute me. Stefano's is thin, thin, thin, thin crust, with a smear of tomato sauce and a sprinkle of cheese. There's really not much there. I usually get slices, which are big, and by big I mean wide and thin, like they were steam-rolled. Comes with a free drink to cheer you up about the steam-rolling. Lot's of annoying middle schoolers use it as the hang-out spot before their 10 o'clock curfews. Be warned. Quite frankly, the only reason I go is because they are the only fully solar-powered pizza place in the United States (or so they claim). But, the pizza sucked before the solar power, and it sucks now. I go to support the environmentally-friendly trend. More business should be solar-powered, and I respect Stefano's for the their charge. But, honestly, it sucks. Don't go, unless you like to eat ultra-floppy, thin, wide, strips of wet dough. Service sucks, too. Probably because they're constantly being berated by annoying 13 year olds. read more

Growing up in Mill Valley, I used to frequent this pizza joint. Dining in, it is quite good when fresh. However, my family/friends often insist on ordering delivery and it is TERRIBLE every time. The food is cold by the time it arrives, it tends to be overpriced when you order by whole pizza (especially with toppings), and they charge for delivery. Mid twenties guy running the register Saturday evening had a huge attitude, acted like he was doing me a favor to take my order. OK, I'm originally from NYC and I'm a pizza snob. I like Johns, Lombardi's, Arturo's, Pepe's in New Haven, Caserta's in Providence, you get the idea. But I like ok pizza just fine too.
