Dropped by here while passing through Nashua...wasnt a problem getting seating on a Saturday night...though seemed like this is a place for a lot of young professionals looking for a girls night out. They had one area that was mostly bar and some seating, and the other side that had more sitdown. They have a diverse menu, breaking down the different tapas by regions - with tapas inspired by American, Latina, Asian, Italian, and Vegetarian and Seafood fares. Here are the dishes we got: -pulled pork: I like sweet, and found this to be too sweet, but tasty. -french fries: these were waffle fries coated with cheese, with the option to add bacon ($1)...the small is def more than enough for 2-3 ppl, unless you have a really large group. -fish tacos: you have the option of baked vs. fried...we got it baked, and found the fish to be juicy and flavorful, and a nice option to have a lighter tapa to balance the other rich/heavier tapas -empanada: very small, and not really worth it -ceasar salad: was REALLY not worth it, for $8 you get barely a 1/2 romaine heart cut in half and on a plate, left for you to slice up into smaller pieces; barely feeds one person -hangar steak over udon: The steak was tender and juicy, but the udon was rather salty, but was bursting with flavor though. read more

Our server was excellent. We each ordered two small plates and shared them with the table. It ended up being plenty of food for our group. Whenever I take a trip to visit my friends in NH - we always stop here. We have come here for a casual evening, engagement dinners, for wine, etc. Everything is done so well here. Staff was a little slow to the front of the house but very polite and accommodating. We had a large group were allowed to preorder as well which was convenient. Especially on a holiday. They came out immediately with pita and hummus which was lovely with a light sesame in the pita which I loved and the hummus was not overly re pepper which made it subtle and light against the sesame. Water and tables were set up and cold for our arrival not all drippy and ice melted like at some locations. I stole a Szechuan green bean from my aunt and the smelled strong but the sauce was actually light and they were perfectly steamed not mooshy at all. I started with the beet salad which looked gorgeous coming out and smelled sweet and tart. The lightly toasted whole hazelnuts really made the meal but it could have had a touch more dressing tossed with it. By the time I finished the salad the place started to fill up and the next dish came out of vegetable stir fry. Please note my meals came of the gluten free menu and this is a lovely novelty in addition to being great for vegans. The presentation of the stir fry was impeccable and the sauce light with a little heat but honestly divine. I shared pieces with everyone at the table a little hesitantly but because of that sauce. The squash and zucchini were just soft enough and the rest of the veggies perfect. I could drink that sauce. Recipe please? Also I appreciated their use of white and black sesame. My grandmother said her soup was a little spicy and needed although thy didn't have bread they have her pita crackers to help her palate. Again the staff was overly accommodating and polite. Our group of 22 had 2 waitstaff and a busboy and worked so well it felt like nothing missed a beat. The rest of the group had dessert but since I'm vegan and lets face it most desserts aren't unless it is done that way on purpose or it's accidental like Oreos you have to skip. Honestly it was delicious. I am still a bit hungry but this happens when I go to places with groups. I should've ordered extra pita and hummus. However I am very satisfied. Stella Blu is a nice, low key spot on a Sunday night. I started off the winter evening with a Purple Elephant martini, which tasted like dessert! I also had a sip of the Coconut Macaroon martini as well... Wish I would have gotten that instead, but both were delicious. For tapas, I started with the arancini, which was nice and crunchy. I also had the crab dip with garlic crostini. Loved the crostini! But my favorite, I have to say, was definitely the baked fish taco. The sauce was delicious. "Nothing really stood out." was what one of my dining companions said after our dinner at Stella Blu. That's an accurate description; the food was inoffensive, but it didn't give us a reason to return. We had the Formaggio Platter, Calamari Fritte, Lobster Mac and Cheese, the Mixed Grill and Duck Crepes. The Formaggio platter, four kinds of cheese with toast and a very good fig jam, was the best of the bunch. The calamari was very lightly breaded, dry, and served with a lightly spiced tomato sauce. No big flavors here. Lobster Mac and Cheese was essentially the Mac and Cheese you can get at a good diner with some chunks of lobster claw mixed in. It was very rich and really needed some pepper or something sour alongside to counterbalance. Mixed grill was a grilled vegetables, nicely cooked, in a light vinaigrette. The Asian Duck Crepe was a disappointment. It's essentially a light eggroll, filled with finely chopped duck flavored with soy and ginger. Like our other dishes, the filling lacked flavor, but the real problem was the lack of texture due to the consistency of the filling. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, but perhaps stretched a bit too thin by having to wait both inside and outside tables. We never did get her attention for pepper for the mac and cheese. We had a very pleasant experience here with our waitress providing stellar service. As a group of 4 we first started off with the teriyaki wings which were perfectly cooked and fell off the bone nicely. For entrees I had ordered the special prime rib with shrimp and my company had ordered enoki carbonara, steak tips with lobster tail I'm a citrus butter sauce, beet salad and some sort of taco with beets. So disappointed. Went for the surf and turf on a Tuesday night. We were one of only 3 couples in the restaurant, one couple was at the bar. We ordered and our meals were brought pretty timely. When the waiter arrived he stated my husbands prime rib was cut way too thin, and if he wanted another cut he would take care of it.. My husband stated he would. The waiter never returned. My husbands drink never got refilled. We had to search around the restaurant for salt and pepper. The broccoli that came with our dinner was cold and under cooked. Its unfortunate as I have been on a weekend night and even though it was busy the service was great and the food was much better,served to temp and drinks were replenished as needed. I have enjoyed tapas here in the past but never came for a full fledged meal. One of the best items on the menu is gone, shrimp and grits. We all really wanted seafood so we all ordered the entrees that were surf and turf combos. Good value for the money and nothing wrong with the food but it was all uninspired and nothing special. The steak tips and scallops were a generous portion. The "sauteed" broccoli was simply steamed. Garlic mashed potatoes boring. I won't return unless for a drink and to try a tapas. read more

This place is simply wonderful! The food is wonderful. Fresh and interesting. Not your typical restaurant fare. We went on Mothers day around 7:30pm. (We had made reservations via their website.. which was awesome!) The waitress was a sweetheart. Polished but genuinely friendly and helpful. She explained how to order, and the sizes (we hadn't been to a tapas restaurant before). The food was really surprising. Not just because it was obvious they use fresh ingredients, but because they mix interesting such flavors. The atmosphere is classy comfortable. I'd feel comfortable going there in jeans or in a dress. The drinks were marvelous! I tried a few different martini's, and they were awesome! (a wee bit pricey, but I'm fairly sure they use top shelf, so not a surprise) I would highly recommend trying Stella Blu! We had a wonderful time and plan on going back soon! read more

I stopped in for dinner with a friend before a show at the Court St. theater. We were seated right away and the service was great. My fiancee and I love this place! It's a fun, trendy little hole-in-the-wall place with great food and great drinks. It's tapas-style, so the plates are small and you're meant to order multiple plates and share. My fiancee and I went last night and ordered 4 plates. The BLT flatbread was delicious -- a very thin crust topped with tomato confit, bacon, lettuce, cheese, and a spicy aioli. We also got the arancini which were light, airy, and very flavorful. My fiancee's steak tips were glazed in a very tasty soy marinade and they were melt in your mouth. I don't even like steak tips and I could eat a whole plate of them. I had the pulled pork on top of jalapeno cornbread with fennel slaw. The pork had a slightly sweet, smoky taste and the cornbread was sweet with a big kick on the back end. The slaw didn't really taste like much of anything, but gave a little bit of texture. Our dessert was to die for, it was these little donuts with a salted caramel sauce all over the top of them. We've had them in the past and they're always amazing. One downside though was that the donuts had some sort of crumble on them that I'm pretty sure was crushed up Butterfingers. I am allergic to peanuts, and it wasn't disclosed beforehand that there were peanuts in the dish. That being said, the dessert was free as we had a coupon for a complimentary dessert or salad from last time we were there. Nothing some Benadryl and a lot of water couldn't fix, but I would have gotten something different. Their Guinness cheesecake looked amazing. Lastly, their drinks are a good size and very strong. They play around with interesting flavor combinations and come up with some great ideas to suit different palates. Will definitely go again! read more

That was the most delicious $66 dollars I've ever spent! We got shrimp & grits, buffalo chicken dip with pita chips, lobster mac, and arancinis. Shrimp and grits is spicey and salty but super savory with a creamy ball of grits in the middle. Buffalo chicken dip was like what you'd make at home but the fried pitas stepped it up and the buffalo sauce was real, NOT tabasco. Lobster mac was amazing mac & cheese that you just yearn for when it's gone with two shelled lobster claws on top. And the arancinis I could have eaten until I burst but you only get 2. We also had a chocolate covered cherry martini (that will knock you on your bum) and a Great Pear Martini (tastey but I'll get something else next time). We are fans of restaurants that double as social experiences. Stella Blu's menu and portion sizes work toward that experience. A friend suggested we give Stella Blu's a try, and on a Saturday Night we found this well decorated (web site doesn't do it justice) and superbly waited staff just great. We started our gathering with Stella Fries - a well done old favorite mix of cheese, fries, and spices, served in such a fashion to make you think it was a royal dish, and the Apple Fennel Salads - I couldn't believe they make a salad bowl with cucumber! From that point our party all ordered their own pick, I enjoyed the BLT flatbread pizza - which was DELICIOUS. When we got to the after meal drinks - I found mine to be a bit over done - but a replacement was offered and vastly improved. As a Deadhead I had to visit this place on name alone. What a delight that the food, drinks and service were excellent. Tapas style menu allowed us to try an array of dishes and everything was excellent. Huge bar, really eclectic menu and a very friendly staff made this an enjoyable visit. this used to be my favorite food spot downtown, I gotta say the food is not the same. Tuna stack was pre refrigerated and you could tell, deviled eggs were rubbery and flavorless, couldn't make it through that app, Hawaiian sliders were cold and nothing special. It's not the same quality as it once was, especially for the price. Easy to stack up a mean bill here. Server seemed to be the only one out there and while they were nice did not carry a server pad and memorized the order but got it wrong. Stella Blu has been one of my favorite places in town for a long time and is a great spot for a night out with friends. There are many options to choose from on their tapas menu to please a group. Some of my favorites are no longer on the menu unfortunately but a few classics are the kobe beef sliders, stella fries and the stella donuts for desserts. Martinis and sangria are safe options and the craft beer selection is okay. One of my more recent visits the I found the calamari to be sub par compared to my past experiences. Of course, I will be back soon to try some new items from their seasonally changing tapas menu. read more

A recommendation from a long time friend Lory. I will say I was pleased with atmosphere and my dinner. I had a dish called Chicken Francaise, which is Chicken breast floured and egged, cooked in olive oil and butter, over angel hair pasta topped with garlic butter cream sauce, served with green beans. Everything was delicious an perfectly prepared from the angel hair pasta to the tenderness of the chicken, to the lite garlic butter cream sauce, which was outstanding, to the greens beans and very plentiful. All the staff I interacted with were polite, professional and always smiling which gave a warm feel to place. I was also impressed to see the owner Jeff Bois walking around helping out in every aspect of customer service inside and outside, as they offer outside dining with live entertainment. Even my conversation with Jeff about my meal to football. Whom I didn't know until after our interaction was the owner. I would highly recommend Stella Blu if you're ever in Nashua, NH. I have been to Stella Blu a couple of times and have been pleased each time. Usually with tapas places, you'll come across a dish or two that you don't care for as much as the others, but everything I have tried there I have enjoyed. There is a lengthy list of cocktails as well, which is always a good sign. Only service gripe was that we seemed to have to wait a while to get our check. One big plus is that Stella has an entirely separate gluten free menu, and the selection was pretty assorted. This is a step above those places where you have to ask and they'll let you know if a given dish is gluten free or not - something that matters if your table is ordering 6-10 different plates. We also came on a Friday night and there was a musician playing up front; he was good, and we were glad to notice the noise level was just right and not overwhelming. read more

I have been here more times than I can count and keep asking myself why I haven't written a review yet. I guess the main reason is, I can't decide if I love or hate it here. Downtown Nashua has really come a long way in the food scene and I am super excited to have a local tapas place. However, I have never left this restaurant with my mind blown. They have a nice variety of tapas from different cuisines but it seems as though every dish lacks something every time we come in for dinner. If I like a dish at one visit, I may hate it the next time. Consistency is so important in the restaurant business and it seems as though SB struggles with it. I think I went wrong attempting to enjoy tapas at an "American Tapas" joint in Nashua, NH. I also came in armed, guns blazing, with my heavily experienced NY'er foodie attitude. I was quite excited to see a tapas place to even exist in NH, but alas, I'm disappointed. I should've known better... We had: 1. Shrimp Croquettes - way too greasy, oily, but soft and the shrimp wasn't overcooked 2. Hummus & Pita Chips - ummm this didn't even taste like hummus - straight out of the plastic container, it was roasted red pepper hummus that tasted like a roasted red pepper spread as opposed to hummus. yuck. 3. Lobster Mac n Cheese spring roll - this combination sounded cool but tasted bad. 4. Pulled Pork - decent...nothing to write home about 5. Coconut Shrimp - this was decent and was by far the best item we had...shrimp was good, not overly sweet, not overcooked and 12-15 count size 6. Grilled Veggie Flatbread Pizza - decent, haphazardly dumped greens on top drowned in oil...way toooo greasy. *****the pimple on my right cheek I think was from the OIL and grease from this particular item. 7. Szechuan Green Beans - overly spicy and mushy green beans...I'm Indian and it was TOO spicy for me 8. Paella - the mussels/clams were good but it was drowned in oil and lacked simple flavors typical of paella...saffron & salt! 9. Mancini Cabernet Sauvignon - this wasn't a good bottle of cab sav but I won't hold this against the restaurant. Almost EVERYTHING on this menu is fried...seriously? why? the sad thing is, this place is rated 4-5 stars by everyone...I'm sorry folks but the majority of these items are just NOT good. Come to NYC and have real tapas...from a spanish restaurant or an American Tapas joint and see what tapas are really about...everything isn't overly fried, dripping in oil and/or lacking flavor.
