Only giving three stars that is for the staff. Very attentive and personable. Other reviews are right. OLD OUTDATED! The cloth chairs are absolutely filthy. The place smells of old carpet. Have not been here in years will not be back. In there hey day the food was great. I think you had to make enough to update the place This looks the same as 25- 30 years ago. Especially supposedly being a Kenosha icon. We were there for a luncheon. Brown old lettuce mixed with new bagged lettuce. Mashed potatoes old and dark. Possibly sat in the steamer way too many hours. Ham Not Nice smoke off the bone processed. The lasagna it was either all noddles or a pile of cheese. Absolutely nothing to write home about. Food was okay not great, heavy on the sauce. It was a little chilly in dining area. Drinks were good, food was heavy and very old school. Ordered a medium rare steak it came well done. Asked for a remake and and it took almost 30 minutes. Rest of my party was done eating. Salad was decent, once I moved the brown lettuce out of the way. My wife's pasta was either over done or under done on her pasta sampler plate. And as I said earlier it was over sauced. This is the most amazing restaurant!!! We love ALL the entrees and the staff are always smiling, friendly and fast!! We always order something new each visit and one of our "regular" favorites, we are never disappointed!! This restaurant is like a old time Italian restaurant, the pasta is made fresh daily, and the seafood is fresh off the boat, the bread is crispy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. We are so happy we discovered this gem, we enjoy eating out and visit Casa at least 2-4 times a month!! Don't change a thing!! read more

3 pizzas and lasagna = $64.46 and extremely disappointed. Messed up on order when we arrived for pick up no order ready. They Quick made it. The lasagna was very bland, very little cheese, and certainly not good Italian flavor or sausage. The sausage was like rabbit turds. The Pizzas were very bland also. We were so disappointed we called, and we were told by the manager it was our personal preference. We haven't changed anything with our lasagna. Well I beg to differ that point. An Italian restaurant you must try! We have been coming to this restaurant for a few years now and it has become one of our top 3. The staff is always freindly and willing to accomadate any changes you would like. It is the only place I know that will serve you a glass of wine in a generous amount! The food is great and the portion sizes just right. The specials that have are unique and always fantastic. It is a little busy on the weekends but well worth the wait. We have been here two times recently. The first time we had pizza. If you like thin crust it is fine. I do not recommend any meat other than pepperoni. Med pizza two peronis and two Dewar's were about 65 dollars. The second trip we decided to try them Italian combination plate. It was awful, at least chef boyardee doesn't use foul meat in his ravioli. The stuffed shells were watery with too much spinach and not enough ricotta. Lasagna is great if you eat loads of sausage and can tolerate salt Gnocchi was very good. I highly doubt any of this was fresh. Add 2 peronis and it was 65 bucks or so. One choice of soup French onion. I hated it an the wife loved it. The wait staff was great and the decor was dated but cozy, I like to think of it as nostalgic. Bottom line: get the pizza, don't do a lot of drinking and get ready to pay big money. Stick to those rules and you won't be angry when you leave. read more

Casa Capri is an American-Italian restaurant...that's what their sign reads. Ok fine. When I went here with my parents, all they had were seafood specials and a menu full of seafood entrees. They even had a few fish tanks and live lobsters. Yes, there were the few average pasta plates but if you don't care for seafood, stay far. All the entrees do include bread and a salad/soup which is nice and I can't complain about the service. Our waitress was super nice; I believe a young college student from Carthage to be exact. My overall impression wasn't that great, just average. They do have a nice dining room with skylights and are always willing to do banquets. If you want good Italian food in Kenosha, I recommend you going to Villa d'Carlo on 7th Ave. If you love seafood, perhaps this may earn a better rating. read more

Okay. Owned by a friend of mine's family. I'll try not to be biased. Good service, nice little Italian supper club type of feel. Nice bar for an apéritif or for an after dinner drink. Many old Italian men, and sometimes couples can be found in this area, sometimes until almost midnight, chatting away in different Italian dialects. They have the best baked manicotti i have ever tried. Takes about a half hour for that dinner, in particular to be served. Soup, salad, and bread inculded w/ all dinners. Decent baked and fried seafood dishes, as well as pizza. Apptz. and deserts leave a bit to be desired. If you go, make sure to have a coacktail w/ one of the friendly bartenders before or after dinner and don't forget to try the manicotti! read more

Had an amazing dinner last night. We decided to finally try this place from a recommendation and glad we did. Anna was our server and what a sweetheart. She talks fast but works fast too, we loved her. I had a lobster & shrimp special (so delicious) and my husband got the pizza and he loved it. My 14 year old got the Alfredo but it was lacking flavor and very bland. The salad with house dressing was very good and the house wine was wonderful. My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day dinner and we were very disappointed. I can forgive bad 80s decor and being uncomfortably close to other tables, and the service was fine, but the prices at this place for the poor quality of food was unforgivable. My husband got the sampler with their different pastas, some of which are called "homemade" and he didn't like any of them. All of them tasted microwaved and old. I got the chicken pasta Alfredo and while the sauce and pasta were fine, the chicken was pretty much inedible. The prices here were just insulting. If you're going to spend $25-$40 per plate, save yourself the regret and go somewhere else. You would be way better off and spend less with Olive Garden. read more

A soft 4 but not a 3. This place has a nice authentic feel that started with a warm greeting and lots of hustle and bustle on a Friday night. The environment is great. Didn't have a reservation so we sat right at the kitchen entrance which saw a lot of coming and going. The food was good. I got the crab encrusted grouper special with a meatball à la carte and it was tasty but the fish could have used a little less olive oil drizzle, the whole plate was covered with it and parsley flakes. My wife got the butterflied tenderloin rare and it came out a bit over medium but was still good. Clam chowder soup was some of the best I've had in a while. Dinner salad was not good. Drinks are quite overpriced but what else is new. I'd go back for sure. read more

If this is good Italian food in Kenosha, I'm Charlize Theron. Had lasagna and found pepperoni in it, which is a first for me. With or without the pepperoni, the lasagna was a miss. Tasted like it was pre-made and heated in a microwave. Pizza was pretty bland and didn't enjoy the crust. The restaurant is a bit dated. We visited on 6/3/18 after 5. This place was had a supper club atmosphere with an active bar. We did not have a reservation but it did not appear we needed one. About half of the place was empty; however, many tables were not bussed. We were seated quickly by a very nice gal who also got our drink order and would become our waitress. The carpet, yes carpet, was covered with crumbs and stains which was not very appealing. It would have been nice if they somehow picked up these things. We placed our order for appetizers and a pizza. I have to say the food was quite good. The zucchini appetizer was crunchy and hot. It came with a small amount marinara. Dried Parmesan was on table. The pizza came up a short time after we finished the zucchini. A 16" thin crust was made just like the old days. It was quite tasty with flavorful Italian sausage. We had enough left for dinner on another day. I would recommend this restaurant to others if you don't have an aversion to a dirty carpet and crumbs on your chair. The staff was friendly. Nice place. Nice bar for pre-dinner cocktails. Diner is very nice too and the staff was friendly. Food was good, huge portions and the main entres were delicious. Cons: don't sit by the cash register. All night long it would beep with every push of a button. A little distracting. And the booths are very uncomfortable. They are built at a 90 degree angle and are not conducive to relaxing and hanging out . I felt like I had to sit straight up the whole time. Overall nice place. read more

A very old school Italian restaurant. Decor is very dated, but homey. Ate there for the first time tonight and was very happy. The waitstaff was a little slow, but very nice and helpful. Food was very tasty. Just like REAL homemade italian! I had a pasta combo plate that was amazing. My husband had a steak which was also very tasty. The absolute best pizza in town. As for the rest of the menu, you can tell they're doing it right. The pasta and the sauces are home-made and it shows. My go-to for Italian food in Kenosha, nothing else compares. The ambiance is also nice. There's a fireplace that keeps things cozy and the bar area is very cozy. Old faithful Casa customers.....have enjoyed many meals there. It is convenient too as we live in the neighborhood. Everything was good but........here comes a but. The soup, clam chowder was liquid with no clams to mention in it. Just like water. It use to be deliciously thick with actual small clams and celery in it. Was one of my favorites. What happened? They substitute cheap cuts of meat for the real thing in other words if it says filet mignon it isn't. This place hasn't had a piece of real beef tenderloin since the place opened 100 years ago. Not a big fan of spaghetti but this place changed my mind. The food and service was great. The price was excellent for the amount of food provided. Been going here for decades but things have really fallen off lately. First, they started charging for a bread basket - this in a town where every Italian restaurant puts a bread basket on the table before you even order. Then a few weeks ago, our pizza came burnt black on the bottom. Tonight, the sauce on the pizza had changed from the really great sauce they have been using for years to this thick, pasty, sour sauce ruining the entire thing. Not sure what's going on here but if this continues, we won't be going back. read more

The worst service we have ever had! We were at the bar waiting for the a dinner table and the bartender snubbed us, after waiting 5 min. he walked by us, I said hi and continued to walk in the kitchen. Then another bartender finally came out, pored us a very small sample of wine to sample in one glass, but said she had to get some soup, never to return, the glass smelled of bleach... They need new bartenders and they need to wash the glasses so they do not smell... Use to be a nice place with ambient music now just a TV on with a sports channel on, really.. Very disappointed, this is how you treat a 40 year patron, will never return to this place. read more

The good: The portions are huge! I can eat a lot and would have to be extremely hungry to clean my plate here. The atmosphere is pleasing, darker, and makes for a nice family outing or a 3rd date spot. The service is very nice. Go here for traditional Italian fare. The bad: If you are really hungry, be prepared to wait quite a while. Do not do pizza here. There are many better choices. The notsoethical: I didn't subtract a point because I saw the fine print and compared it to the menu but others might not be so lucky. They advertise a buy one get one free coupon all the time in various local publications (great!). While this does help save you money, do read the fine print: it's usually up to a $10 or $12 value. Unfortunately I only saw one thing on the menu to which that would apply, meaning it's not really what it seems to be. I'm not a fan of businesses being shady, and while this may not cross that line it comes close. The meh: Overall the bang for the buck factor is a bit below average compared to other Kenosha restaurants. The huge portions help offset this, but there are lots of choices where one can do a bit better. read more

After reading reviews, we thought this would be a sure thing. But we were very wrong. We made a reservation- but when we got there, it seemed like they forgot about it. They quickly set a table in the back room. Then after ordering and waiting over 1 1/2 hours for our food ( and we had children with us!). The food was below gross, none of us finished. As stated in my original review, my fiance and I decided to hold our wedding celebration in their back party room. We had approximatey 70 people at our event and it went off without a hitch. I went to Casa for a group event. I read all the yelp reviews before I went and I will say there is some truth to many of them. But my experience was positive. And, because I was with a large group, I had the opportunity of trying several different menu items. The pizza is quite good. I like the crispy cracker crust type of pie and their crust is nice. If you like sausage, order their sausage pizza. It is covered in it. The veggie pizza was nice. It is not the best pizza I have ever had but it is good quality and I really liked the crust. The fish I tried was excellent. It was a butter laden dish but often times fish is poached in the butter and over-cooked. That was not the case here. The fish was properly cooked. The pasta primavera was good with fresh cut vegetables and a nice light seasoning. Again, it was overdone with butter but still had a freshness to it I could appreciate. The vegetables were very Italian authentic; pan cooked asparagus and brussels sprouts. Both were cooked very well. The atmosphere is quaint. I guess it would be considered dated the same way Buca Di Bepo is considered dated. It is an attempt at capturing a century old Italian motif. I had no problem with it. I did not feel like I was in a 1980's tavern. It was rustic but not dated.The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. The bathrooms were tidy and well stocked. I will say the big buck hunter arcade machine next to the bathroom did not fit but hey, if you have some kids waiting for a table it may come in handy. Definitely not a problem with me. The drinks are expensive...really expensive. A glass of wine and a draft beer in North Kenosha should not cost $15. But in their defense the glass of wine is a large pour. The beer selection is sub par especially in light of today's high craft beer standards. The service is polite, attentive, and friendly. Everyone I spoke to had a smile. They were well dressed and easily recognizable. Overall, my wife and I would go back. We both had nice things to say about the place as we were leaving. read more
