I ordered the grilled salmon pasta Verde, but I substituted for veal. Fish fry for mom.

I ordered the grilled salmon pasta Verde, but I substituted for veal. The waitress was helfpul and asked thr chef. They asked how I wanted the veal cooked. I asked for it to be made the way the chef recommended. It was amazing! Mom had the fish fry. I love the ambiance at the bar. The wine pour is the best around. The salad and soup is great here as well. I also recommend the shrimp Ala vodka. My mom loves the pizza. This is her favorite restaurant.

While in town, my sisters and I stopped in for an impromptu dinner around 5:30. It was a Saturday night during Restaurant Week so it was busy. The hostess said there was a 2 hour wait. We were creating a plan B and decided to sit at a table in the bar and it was perfect! The bar was bustling and it was great for people watching. The big table next to us looked like they were having a great time too. Our bartender/server Jamie was fantastic!! She was so friendly, helpful and attentive, even though she was quite busy. She really made our visit even better. Our cocktails were expertly created. Dinners come with soup AND salad. We ordered pizza, chicken parmesan and the pasta sampler. Such a cool idea to try several pastas in one order. Everything was so tasty. We were way too full for dessert. The bar atmosphere and service are my favorite. I prefer to dine there now. It feels old school and comfortable. I love feeling the history behind a restaurant, knowing the dedication it took to make this a Kenosha staple.

Being Kenosha, remembering the Italian authentic businesses, I had high expectations. Arrived at 4 o'clock when they open and the hostess was less than welcoming when she asked if we had a reservation we did not. There are three table for twos at the front and small spaces for those of us who didn't know a reservation was required, not large enough for bigger people. Didn't know there was a fish fry special or I would've tried it ordered the whitefish which was underwhelming as well as the potatoes and vegetables, unsure if the potatoes are fresh or canned? Not much flavor seasonings, being Italian myself, I expected, at least authentic Italian bread in the Kenosha area. The bread was something like a cafeteria in my opinion soft and airy Bolognese was a large portion with lots of meat and my dining companion enjoyed it. Bloody Mary was nice and zesty and Service was efficient and friendly walking in. It took me back in time to the 80s growing up in supper clubs. Warm and friendly atmosphere with a nice bar. Looks like a lot of regulars, frequent here which is refreshing. The salad is iceberg lettuce which I haven't seen in many years but the chicken soup was pretty flavorful and tasty and nice and hot!

Combo player...Motz, zucchini, mushrooms, and cauliflower. tasty sauce but way too thin to be used as a dip. Totally impossible

Cliff's notes... pizza good, ambiance bad You should play the song in the link here while reading this review to really feel this experience ... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_0dq6SL8WRc Stella's was recommended to us by a reliable friend for solid pizza...the pizza is solid enough. Tasty sauce, quality cheese and sausage. All makes for a tasty pizza. In fact, Stella's offer the most Chicago like thin crust pizza of any I've tried in Wisconsin (aside from the usually Chicago franchises). Staff was friendly and attentive - no issues at all there. Stella's ambiance and atmosphere ... well, we'll only do take out if we ever try again. (Music from the link playing ?) The best way I can describe the atmosphere and vibe at Stella's is by having you recall that scene from Harry Potter in the Deathly Hollows where Harry and Hermione are dancing in the tent to some very somber music and their souls seem to be getting getting sucked from their bodies. All that is light and joyous being extinguished from the world... Eating in the dining room here is like eating pizza while wearing a Horcrux. Heck, maybe all of them at once in fact. I still feel empty in side. It's just not good. "Here comes Frank and poor old Jim They're gathering round with all my friends We're older now, the light is dim And you are only just beginning" from the song... Stella's is styled exactly in the same fashion as your typical Long Island Italian eatery... (Eg, Mama Lombardi's but on a budget). It's just sooooo many bad ideas in decorating 198X under one roof. It's the stone aggregate walls, the shrine of the owners, dim can lighting, the porny Goodfellas bar, the regulars (who apparently are likely local golfers), the booths with chairs(?), and the pièce de résistance, the defunct corner waterfall which now serves as a shrine to a collection of sad faux plants... All culminating In an intensely sad feeling and a need to flee. Run Ron, run.... eat this pizza, but just not here with the Horcruxes!

Went 10/31 never been, had heard some good reviews and not so good. Just the husband and I went for an early dinner.. service was great every single person was friendly and upbeat! Had a mixed drink and it was perfect! I ordered Pasta , it came with soup and salad as did my husbands prime rib. The soup was french onion... i tell ya I have had many french onion soups and this on was excellent the best I have had in all my travels! The pasta dish was out of this world! It had amazing flavor and portion was huge. My only issue was the salad kinda wilted.we will def be back for more of the amazing food , ohh the prime well it was an amazingly huge cut! My husband usually finishes his where ever he orders it, he had to have it boxed up to go... wish we went here sooner. Great job y'all .

Veal Parmigiano. What a joke. The waitress said the was I poured off the plate was the sauce.

Old school traditional Italian food. Generations of experience at this kenosha staple. Never had a bad meal.

We were a large party of 8 and seated with no trouble. Mind you it's opening day of college football and the restaurant had its fair share of patrons. Our server was quick to say hello and get our drink order, while we did our best to get settled. We let our family order since they're regulars and had a full selection of appetizers as well as a massive large meat pizza (Meat and More Meat). Pizza took a minute but was hand made, with fresh ingredients. Appetizers hit the spot and could've ordered a second round but was told to wait for the pizza. Boy it did not disappoint! Pizza was delicious and not soggy but very crispy. Cheese and toppings were hot and was so good to eat. Service was excellent and was very patient with our boisterous crowd watching football. Giordano's was an excellent choice to enjoy some great food with family. Unfortunately there are no Giordano's in STL, so I guess we'll have to make another trip back. Give them a try!!
