Wow! First time stopping in and I wished I'd tried it two or three years ago. I had fried pork chops, cole slaw, fried okra and banana pudding for desert. The food was classic southern comfort food. Stephanie's Restaurant was average soul food. We waited over an hour for a table but our food came out in a reasonable amount of time for a party of 13. We ordered a variety of items. Here's what we give a thumbs up to - the purple Kool Aid, half and half Lemonade/Tea, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, beef tips ( order rice), hush puppies, candied yams, potato salad, and the spicy chicken sandwich. This little place is strictly driv-thru - a two sided drive-thru actually, like some of the Cook Out locations - I guess you can order coming or going.The menu is made up of burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, some fried seafood sandwiches and plates, and some sides. Burger is decent, FF are awful, and the Hot Dog is not one I care for - the chili is thick and meaty, but the main taste is that of sweetness - and I don't care for that in a chili dog. Prices are decent - $1.75 for a dog with chili, and a 1/4 lb Cheeseburger is $2.25. Service can be really slow if you order any seafood item, even a fish sandwich, because it will be cooked to order - and frying seafood takes time. Burgers, dogs, and most sandwiches are fairly quick. I'd grab a quick burger here, not much else. read more

The restaurant was packed, and the service was excellent, the food was delivered swiftly and it was hot and delicious. The waitresses were pleasant, funny and they were fast. You have to pull up to be window to order, and a lot of times - you will then pull over and get your food from the window. This is confusing and frustrating, but once you expect it - all is good. You can also call your order in, and since it is cooked fresh, that's your best best. There are always specials advertised on the front billboard. I love their fish sandwiches, and the hot dogs are okay. The latest special was fish and shrimp for $5, and that includes the drink! Came here last weekend Saturday was in town for a convention. I have been here once before about 2 yrs ago. My first visit ordered fried pork chops food was fresh and very tasty...So thought I would try again to get same experience. As I waited for someone to at least address us to get seating waited for about 10 minutes while watching about 10 workers stand around and joke and laugh. Decided to stay and finally had someone take us to our seats. Table was very sticky as if they hadn't thoroughly cleaned with soap and water. Still decided to stay since I remembered the food was so good. Proceeded to wait another 10 minutes before our waitress came to take our drink orders and just introduce herself. Another waitress noticed we had been sitting and waiting and came and helped us. Then finally our waitress came without a smile and just asked what we wanted to order. Placed our order. Waited about 30 minutes for food and noticed that other people who was seated and ordered after us starting receiving their food. Still was patient didn't say anything. When Our food did arrive left something to be desired. My fried chicken looked old, as if they used the same oil from the day before. My husbands fish was over crispy and left something to be desired. So after all that will never return because of the lack of good customer service and food quality. They really need to update Decor and actually clean the tables. Also need to remove the nasty carpet. I don't mind going to hole in the wall restaurants...but at least keep your hole clean. I really had some bad experiences at this location. The restaurant is in a little drive-thru building, where you order on one side and pick up your food on the other side. The service is very slow. I was the only person in line and it still took them fifteen minutes to complete my order. At that time I ordered a hot-dog with chili and slaw. The chili was very good; it tasted home made. The fries I ordered were hot. My second trip to Stephanie's was not so good. I ordered a fish sandwich with fires. They gave me three large pieces of fish; was happy about that. The fries were nice and hot. My friend who was with me stated my sandwich smelled fishy. I told her because it was a fish sandwich. At that time i didn't listen to her but kept eating this nice hot fish sandwich. Later on that night I became sick from the fish; i had gotten food poisoning. Stephanie's drive thru in Greensboro is a fast food burger joint whose service isn't so fast at all. To make service fast and convenient there's a double drive-thru. You may go to either side and order from the menu, but that doesn't mean service is going to be a minimum wait. I ordered a fried fish sandwich with a side of onion rings and a drink, that took me almost 15 minutes to receive.
