After some research, I found Ruby and Clover on the internet and booked an appointment with a stylist. I didn't want anything fancy, just a good old fashioned wash and a cut. I did most of it online which was rather easy. My mom tagged along since she's on a non committal world tour of every salon in a 20 mile radius. She's fussy and wants stuff to be more old school where they wait on you instead of cut your hair and shove you out the back door after you pay. So, when I say she liked it here as well, that's kind of a big deal! We got to the salon and it looks like an old house from the road. Walking in, the place is decorated so nicely and they have a little boutique in the front of the salon. They have the usual hair products, but they also have local Rochester items such as hand soap, candles, gifts, wigs and a bunch of other cool stuff for sale as well. I like that the salon supports the local community! While my wash and cut wasn't cheap ($49 plus tip) I really enjoyed my experience here. Alexis was my stylist and did a good job of taking care of me. I loved it so much that I made a second appointment to get a leave in conditioner treatment a week later! My mom also booked a quick haircut with her as well and we both had a really good time. Overall it was a wonderful experience and while it's at the top of my price range, I'd gladly come back here again.

Growing your hair out from nothing is challenging enough, but having to get trimmed and shaped (cutting ANY of the growth) was like torture. Steve was great about only taking what he needed to in order to make it look presentable. Always patient, understanding..... And hilarious! Nancy has cut my three year old daughters hair. While I was slightly concerned that it would be traumatic..... She wanted it trimmed on a whim after demanding no cuts "cause she wanted it long like Rapunzel" for months.
