I manage a 93 unit residential apartment building at Linden Plaza in the Long Beach, Bixby Knolls area, with an onsite licensed & skilled maintenance man. AND these guys WORK!!! They don't mess around! I tell them to come...and they send me the best! Miguel and Frank especially, are extremely competent, professional and I have to say courteous, because they take A LOT from their demanding clients such as myself, without complaint! I recently had a pain in the neck plumbing job that just seem impossible to fix. I had 3 major plumbing contractors vying for the job; it was a major task that was extremely costly. I still turned to Stephen's plumbing and they didn't let me down. They stand by their work...if something goes awry, they return immediately. If I don't like the pricing (and they know we shop around) they give a detail explanation of the materials, labor and life expectancy of the work they perform. Even though we've used them many times, they know there are other companies out there that want our business; so they know what we expect in order for them to continue business with us. Most importantly, I don't have to 'question' their findings once they troubleshoot or their performance as they have never let me down. The office staff is organized, Jose especially makes himself available even after hours! From our first line of communication, Jose treated us (me) like we were longtime clients. To date although realistically I know they have many clients, we feel as if we're number # on their list as I'm sure they treat their other clients. just had one of the best experiences with a service provider found on yelp ever!. Stephen's Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning, i am putting yall on notice, get your man Matthew a raise! The guy went above and beyond in solving our issue at our business so much so he ended up fixing the entire buildings plumbing issue all at once! We had been having issues where water would leak out from the bottom of our toilets every time we either flushed or used our washer till eventually our toilets just completely stopped flushing. After asking around it seemed that other units in the building were having the same troubles. Ill be honest i called multiple plumbing services as i was desperate not wanting to have to close our business due to non working toilets. Stephen's Plumbing was the first to call me back and get me in touch with one of their plumbers, and i am beyond satisfied they were the first to get back to me! Matthew spent a good 4 hours trying to get the problem fixed. After about an hour with little to no progress, Matthew decided to pull out the 150 foot line to try and clear the blockage. Fast forward another hour and exhausting the entirety of the 150 foot line, I could tell Matthew was feeling defeated as was i. Thankfully Matthew kept trying for another 2 hours till finally he managed to pop whatever was blocking the pipes! Matthew pulled through for not only us but also all the other businesses next to us as their issues seemed to clear up when he fixed our problem. I honestly cant thank you enough for the great customer service and the dedication to getting the job done. I was having problems with my laundry and kitchen lines, and was told by other companies I'd have to create a new line to connect these lines to the main line, an insanely expensive undertaking that would involve breaking up my stucco wall and driveway. I felt I had to get one more opinion, so I called Stephens Plumbing. Jose and Frankie came out to my house to do a video inspection of all my lines and were able to accurately tell me what the problem was. I especially appreciated that Jose offered me several options (a cheaper one and a more costly one as well as another in between), without trying to pressure me to go with the more expensive option. I could tell he had lots of knowledge and experience and that he was being honest with me, which made me feel confident about the option I chose. In the end, I chose to have Jose hydrojet my lines, and I'm sure glad I did because it did the job: it cleared the laundry and kitchen lines and, more importantly, saved me an arm and leg by not having to go with the more costly options that would've been at least ten times more expensive. Also, I should add that throughout the entire process I asked Jose multiple questions, and he patiently and clearly explained everything to me in terms I could understand, which was important for me in order to give me "peace of mind." I feel when you hire a plumbing company (or any company for that matter), you want at least two things to happen: 1) that you're not being cheated, and 2) that the person helping you knows what he/she is doing. I feel those two things were met through Jose's work (thank you, Jose!) and, as a result, would not hesitate to hire Stephens Plumbing again in the future. Our A/C system failed during the summer and after getting estimates and poor communication from other vendors, we finally found Stephens and were so impressed by their responsiveness and fair estimate that we chose them to replace our HVAC system. Rob and Eric were both our first points of contact re the estimate, contract, and oversight of the entire project. Never have we had the wonderful experience of a vendor calling when they said they would call, and setting appointments and keeping them! Both were so professional and very communicative! Rob was at our house with every step to ensure the installation team, Freddy, Samuel, and Poncho were all on the same page. Freddy and Samuel both worked professionally and judiciously to remove and install the new unit and to install our new slim line condenser in a different location from our old unit, while Poncho assessed what was needed to ensure all the electrical was done to code and to our satisfaction! I don't do lots of reviews, but I had a great experience with Stephens Plumbing today. They installed a brand new heat/ac system. They worked hard and did it in one day. They did it well and it's working great! They were nice and polite and very knowledgeable about what they were doing so they easily answered the questions I had for them. It was easy for me to communicate with them because they all spoke and understood English perfectly. I told them I was happy about that and found out they were all bilingual and could speak Spanish if that was needed as well. Instead of just handing me a manual when they were done, they patiently showed me how to set up and operate the new system, and change the filters as well. Then they vacuumed and cleaned up everything after themselves. They even washed down the walls around where they were working because they saw some fingerprints. A job well done by professionals that do things right and kindly do their best to make the experience a pleasant one for their customers too. Ouf furnace went out with the first winter storm of the season--which happens to everyone whose furnace is going to go out, so the people we regularly use were booked already for a whole week. The power had gone out with the storm, common to PV, and when it came back on an electrical surge fried our electric motor for the fan of our gas furnace. I made several calls and found all of the heating companies booked out for days, but when Iphoned Stephen's they were true to their website claim and sent a tech within an hour. It was Poncho and he couldn't have been more professional or kind. We trusted his assessment and could see that he really worked it on the supply end, even though the part needed would take several days to come in. He went over and above to get the part and install it. Stephen's also referred us to a great rooking company who gave the same great service to repair the seal around our furnace vent in the roof, where water was defending the pipes and (separate from the fan motor issue) putting out our igniter. Stephen's also advised a surge protector that we could buy online and install ourselves so that we won't burn out another motor! read more

I would like to share my experience with this company. I have a septic tank on my property and I learned about it after buying the home. Long story short, the pumps inside the tank have stopped working, and the pump is overflowing. I called 3 vendors, and got 3 different quotes. What made me choose Stephens Plumbing was the plumber Williams. He was the only one that explained how these systems work in layman terms. He didn't create panic and didn't upsell me like the 1st vendor did, and that came in with a $35k quote!!!! After that quote, I decided to look for a family owned business in hopes of getting a fair and honest quote. Williams and his assistant Robert was very thorough during the installation and communicated with me every step of the way. The quote was extremely fair and I'm confident the assessment/diagnosis was honest. It was completed within the timeline promised. But most importantly, I now understand this septic system and will not be ignorant when it breaks. Lastly, I'm confident that the company will provide honest, fair, and excellent customer service. Last time I called these guys (6/28/12) to install a complete new waste system under my kitchen sink after new countertops and sink were installed. They sent me a young man that could not even install the garbage disposal. He kept complaining that I was misssing parts for the garbage disposal. I finally had to let him go and paid $123.75 to get him out of the house. He had spent an hour looking at the situation and done almost no work. I was lucky to get another plumber (different company) the same afternoon and he installed the entire setup with in 30 minutes. He simply laughed at the fact that the previous guy could not figure out how to install a garbage disposal with a quick connect hookup. Lo and behold, all the parts were there. To make matters worse, when we went to to fill up the left hand sink to wash a couple of items it leaked like a seive from the strainer connection to the sink that the Stephens plumber had connected without any plumbers putty. That repair cost me another $133.50. It's all about the experience level and integrity of the guy they send. Will never use them again. read more

I want to thank and commend Luis and Nick from Stephens Plumbing for the phenomenal job they did today hydro-jetting and unclogging the main line in my house. They were very friendly, professional, on time, and got the job successfully done. Also, I felt that Luis was very honest because, before hydro-jetting the line, he he took the extra step to make sure it wasn't just a minor clog near the P-trap. In other words, he wanted to save me money, rather than just pushing a more-expensive solution that was unnecessary. I'm so glad I no longer have to worry about water getting backed up every time I run my laundry machine. Also, I'd like to give a shout out to Andres for the previous awesome work he did at my house: he replaced my water heater and, during a separate visit, fixed a problem with my kitchen faucet. On Christmas Eve, with family present and festivities about to begin, our kitchen sink became badly clogged. After trying to fix it ourselves, to no avail, I made a half dozen calls to other companies, who either gave us astronomical estimates for coming after hours on a holiday, or who said they were too busy to help, I called Stephens Plumbing. With a really reasonable quote and a quick time frame for arrival (a little over an hour), we readily agreed. The telephone rep was polite and professional in our conversation. Almost exactly an hour later, Victor arrived. He was extremely professional, pleasant and understanding and made quick work resolving our issue. We paid exactly what we were quoted and Victor made it a relatively painless process, especially considering it was a holiday and we were, before his arrival, completely stressed over the situation.
