We were charged over $200 for a five minute plunger job. We had a minor clog and I need to take responsibility for this outrageous charge because I asked for pricing but I didn't push it the woman on the phone said they need to see the issue to determine the cost. I understand but I should have gotten a general idea for the basic issues with a clogged toilet and I should have been more assertive and asked for an estimate for a clog and talked to her longer about other costs. I didn't and the grumpy plumber came after 430PM on a Friday so I assume this was considered emergency pricing along with after hours but this is not the fault of the company and consumers need to be assertive and I am now. read more

We knew we had a leak somewhere, but we had no idea where - we could just hear it running somewhere under the house. Galan and Arturo from Stephens Plumbing came out to look for the leak and found that most of the pipes were either already leaking in multiple areas or in imminent danger of starting to spray like the leak we'd originally heard. They did a thorough inspection, taking pictures and video to show us exactly what they were seeing under the house. They gave us a couple quotes -- explained the quick, short-term fix (that would solve the immediate need) and then the more comprehensive solution that would save us in the long run. After a lot of thought on our part (and a lot of gracious patience on their part), we had them do a horizontal repipe, along with a drain repair they discovered during their initial inspection, and replace our regulator to keep the water pressure down and our garbage disposal which was also having issues. There was a lot of work to be done and they did it efficiently with extreme professionalism. They took care to work with our schedule and keep in constant communication. They checked in with us throughout the day, always confirming it was okay to turn off the water before they did it, letting us know what they'd completed that day, making sure we had water overnight, and always explaining exactly what they were doing and why. I am confident they did lasting, quality work that will save us in the long run. Stephens is amazing! Especially Poncho! They are professional, friendly and great at what they do. We had worked with 3 other HVAC companies in the last 4 years. That alone tells the story of the troubles we had. Stephens was referred by a neighbor and they came out same day to assess the problem. We have an older HVAC system so the parts were ordered same day and installed as soon as they arrived. Their quotes were half what others quoted for the same work. And even then, Stephens came in under their own quote! When have you ever had work like that come in under quote! We had two separate repairs done. No BS. Just excellent service from Dave and Oscar. PPE and safety protocols in place. I can't recommend them high enough. Our furnace wasn't working this morning, and I gave Stephens a call around 10AM, and spoke to Dave - who was very professional over the phone, asked me questions about symptoms, and let me know he had techs available in the early afternoon. He also followed up with an ETA, which is a nice touch. Oscar came by a couple of hours later, did some diagnostics, and quickly pinpoint the cause of the problem. He took the time to explain the suspected issue, how the mechanism works, and what the next steps would be. Luckily he had the part needed in his van, and successfully repaired the furnace in less than 45 minutes. Oscar also stuck around for me to re-install my wi-fi thermostat, to make sure all was well. He also answered my HVAC maintenance questions. He's a good guy! Look, my only goal this morning was to get the heat back on by night time, so that our baby would be comfortable. A few years ago Stephens Plumbing & Heating installed a new A/C central unit and furnace which has worked well. Someone from Stephens came to replace our filter. The person who came out had the wrong filter. The person had to leave to get the right filter and I was not given a quote for the price. He installed a filter that was 3 times the cost of the same filter on Amazon, plus the service cost was also expensive. I called two times to ask a manager to call me back to discuss this high cost. Aptmt from 8 to 12 did not arrive til after 12 guy does not come with the machine to check if I have a leak and suggests I break through wall to "see if I have a leak." Really!!!! Professional: Called on a Friday and were seen the next Wednesday for a non-emergency pipe leak. They were busy but we are happy that Alan called to explain this. On the day of service Jeanette gave me a courtesy call an hour in advance to let me know the technician was on his way. Friendly and efficient: Luis arrived wearing a mask within the two hour window they gave us. He was easy to talk to, funny and efficient. He gave us an itemized estimate, was upfront about the costs, and provided photos of the affected pipe. Luis was able to do the repair immediately. After fixing the pipe, he also did a test run for 10 minutes to ensure that it had been efficiently repaired. He also provided a photo of the new pipe installed after the work was done. We decided last Summer to upgrade to AC before it gets hot again. Gary's been our guy for plumbing projects for 30 years, so Jeanette was our first call once again. My HVAC system has been giving me problems this year and I had disappointing experiences with the first two companies I hired. I'm so relieved to have found Stephens Plumbing & Heating. I called them and the scheduler was able to give me a same day appointment with Omar. After inspecting my furnace, Omar gave me a detailed explanation of why my heat had stopped working and showed me pictures of the damage. He had a replacement part in his truck and was able to repair the unit right away. The price was very reasonable and included a 1-year warranty on the replacement part. I had a prior issue with a leak in my pipes earlier this year, and Galan & Arturo at Stephens Plumbing was able to quickly resolve the issue for me in the short term, but recommended a repipe in the long term due to some corrosion issues present with the materials used. This week, I called in a request for repiping services on a Monday afternoon, and the office team was able to immediately schedule Galan for a visit the following day for reassessment/quote services. Galan & Arturo were fortunately available to start the repipe job the next day (Wedneday), and with a little assistance from Matt, were able to complete the whole repiping job by Friday afternoon. In addition to that, they also repaired some troubleshooting/partially abandoned lines/weird sewer configurations present that they encountered during the primary repipe work. Galan provided me with great communication throughout the whole process, and a few days out from job completion, everything is still working perfectly. Absolutely criminal! Tried to take my elderly mother for thousands of dollars and then left when I said I was sending her neighbor over to talk with them regarding their proposal. But not before collecting the service call fees. He said he was going to send a full written proposal via email which he did not. But from the notes I took over the phone, he proposed parts we didn't need, for a leak we didn't have, and 10 pounds of R22 (a refrigerant that had it's production banned almost 25 years ago!) it is still legal to sell existing inventory from prior to the ban, but there is a MUCH CHEAPER and more environmentally friendly alternative available, which thankfully Urso installed the next day for a third of the quote given by Steven's plumbing, to my 80 year old mother. They should be ashamed of themselves!!! read more

This company was prompt in returning my phone call, however, the services thereafter were terrible. We had to wait a few days before the ordered parts were available for the heater & then an appt was made to fix the heater. The heater worked for about 15 minutes after the repair was made & then stopped working. The service tech was unprofessional & wouldn't return to check why the heater wasn't working after he so-called "fixed it". We were left without a working heater. We had made multiple calls & received minimal response to rectify the situation. We ended up using another company & finally had gotten our heater working. As it turns out, the gas valve this tech had installed was installed backwards & that's why it had stopped working after 15 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this company unless you want to pay for a repair that doesn't get fixed! Unfortunately, their reviews didn't match our experience. read more

I originally scheduled an appointment with Stephens Plumbing through Yelp. I called the morning of the appointment and was told there was no record of the appointment. I scheduled a second appointment and was told it was a "priority" appointment. Stephen's Plumbing called at the end of the appointment and said no plumber was available. Another appointment was scheduled. The plumber showed up to provide a work estimate. He said I would receive the estimate by email in a few days. A week went by and no estimate. I called the following week to follow up and was told the estimate would be sent in a few days. I called again the next week and was told the plumber that came to my house quit and they would have to send another plumber before providing an estimate. They scheduled another "priority" appointment for today. Stephens Plumbing just called (one hour after the appointment time window) and said they would need to reschedule. Wow, Talk about the worst attempt to rip someone off just because she is a female and at a nice house. Had two issues for them to look at one was a septic transfer tank, which they wouldn't even touch unless it was pumped out. He said they were not capable of pumping it out, and told me to call a septic service company to pump it out. But did nothing to try and troubleshoot the electrical, or connections to the pump. Second issue was a sprinkler pipe, where the fitting was underground and had to be dug up. literally 1 foot underground. The part was a three-quarter inch PVC elbow, and one short section of PVC pipe and one coupling. With glue, the cost may be around $20. Estimated cost for them to repair $730! Excuse was you have to let the glue cure and then he would have to test it. Glue curing on PVC pipe usually 10 minutes from my experience. My girlfriend was the one who was on site, and this is what they told her. She immediately said that was outrageous, then they came back with another offer of $500. I showed up, had to pay them $125 to go away for their service call. Will never ever use or suggests to anyone to use them. The picture is what they wanted to for the section of pvc pipe. I never write reviews or complain about anything even shotty work, but this was absolutely unbelievably ridiculous. read more
