First, I want to commend whoever sends out the adorable thank you cards. Receiving an "old fashioned" thank you card from a business is a classy move, and because of it, I had easy access for an emergency water leak. I called in because the city warned me that we had a constant stream of water since Oct 10. Williams from Stephens came out the same day, and once he crawled under the house, he reported a small pond growing under my kitchen. Williams said he would need to come back with a water proof suit to get closer to the source. Williams returned the next day with Robert and the two of them investigated my tricky Floorplan until they found the culprit. Williams and Robert were very respectful of my home. They didn't leave any evidence of crawling in mud when they came back up from the crawl space. Now, we're in the position of trying to figure out how to repipe my bathroom, but I would highly suggest Stephens now for both plumbing and HVAC needs. read more

My toilet was leaking back in April. We needed to have the wax rings replaced, which was over $400 and took less than 30 minutes. According to google, the cost to replace toilet wax rings in California is typically between $50 and $200, including labor. I should have done my research beforehand. A few months later it started leaking again. They did a crappy job, no pun intended. Unfortunately, they don't offer warranties... Replacing wax rings should be able to last over a decade. Very frustrating. I do NOT recommend them. read more

This was my first time using Stephen's plumbing , I have used them to install a new air conditioner a few years back (They were great ) so I decided to call them for plumbing . They sent out Miguel today to fix my plugged up shower. Miguel was very professional and knowledgeable. He went right in and started working snaking the pugged drain, after a while he told me he was going to go on the roof and do it from there . When he came down he told me He was able to unplug the pipe. Miguel worked really hard and stayed at it till it was fixed . He cleaned up the shower and left no mess for me . For all the work he did it was very affordable. I had an appt set up between 8am to 12pm to unclog a bath tub drain. I thought they would at least call me if they were running late. By 11:30 I called them. They told me they had staff call in for the day so it was hard to call me with an update status. So I told them I'll wait another hour. By 1:30 I decide to cancel. My half day wasted because they didn't have two minutes to call me to let me know they are running late. Terrible customer service. I would think twice about using this company. read more

The company said it was a free service call. I would receive a quote from the plumber after the work was inspected. The plumber, Luis, came, called in advance and arrived when he said he would. He quoted $305 to replace a toilet tank. After looking at the toilet (which worked fine but was making a squealing noise) he replaced only the filler valve. $12-18 part. The company still wanted to hold me to the verbal quote of $305 and later a discounted price of $242. The work quoted was not what the plumber completed. The minimum fee Stephens Plumbing charges for work completed is $135. I made sure to pay more than that despite being unsatisfied with the experience. Janetta at their office threatened to put a lien on my home if I do not pay the difference. Luis the plumber, told me to call a different plumber in the future. I was really hoping for same day service when I needed help with my furnace. I called them up and they answered right away. I could tell by the sound of their office, they were super busy, but even with all that going on, they still offered to squeeze me in. As promised, I received a call prior to the service appointment where they provided me the technicians name. Shortly after, Oscar showed up and began to check on the furnace. My experience with Stephen's Heating and Air Conditioning has been extremely negative and exasperating. After over 6 weeks of service calls weekly which never fix the problem, I'm so aggravated and frustrated, I feel compelled to write this review to forewarn anyone purchasing and installing an AC/Heating unit from them. I installed my brand new unit 6/1/24. The AC worked great all summer. But later in the year I started having problems with the heat. By the Christmas holidays it wasn't working at all. The technician came several times but the heat still didn't go on. After weeks of going without heat, Stephen's finally said they would contact the manufacturer who told Stephen's they needed to order a new part from the manufacturer which wasn't in stock. Weeks later they finally installed the new part and the unit worked. Why did they repeatedly send the same technician all those times when it was obvious something was faulty instead of promptly contacting the manufacturer since it was obvious they couldn't fix it. Now it's Christmas 2025 and the heat stops working again. I call Stephens and again they send a technician. He proceeded to come back 5 weeks in a row and each time it didn't get fixed. After the 4th week I asked him what he was even doing since again it seemed obvious he didn't have a clue. He even admitted they've had trouble with these units before. If Stephens was aware of this, why did they keep sending the same technician back! By the fifth week, when he came back again, my patience wore out. I asked him why he came and I contacted the manager who apologized and said they would get me a brand new unit. Week 6 comes along and the same technician returns with an additional one and a new part. What happened to the new unit! When I spoke to the manager and questioned him about stalling when they knew it was faulty, why he kept sending the same technician every week who even admitted these units are bad and obviously had no idea how to fix it.....and where was the new unit? After they installed the new part, the heater seemed to be working, but it did each time they came for a few hours and conked out. Exactly the same issue and more than 6 weeks with no heat! I spent over $10,000. on this unit which I purchased in 2024! I questioned the manager about why I didn't get the new unit, why I had no invoices for each time they came, plus why they charged me $160. since I still have a ten year warranty on the unit and two year on the labor? He got defensive and tried to persuade me he "was on my side and to be patient." He told me the manufacturer would not replace the unit without first going through whatever procedure, parts and instructions they directed. Why hadn't they contacted the manufacturer weeks ago? The manager said he would email me my invoices, but he wouldn't commit to extending my warranty or reimbursing me the $160. labor invoice. Stephen's must be aware that they're installing unreliable units since the technician admitted they've had the same problems before. When I had no heat again today, I felt I had no other choice but to put my complaint on Yelp because I haven't been getting anywhere dealing with Stephen's directly. read more

My Mother recently passed away so I'm in the process of getting her house ready to sell, turns out downstairs shower was backing up so I called Stephens plumbing, what a mistake. Service man came out and started work right away without any estimate, worked on drain with a snake for about 30 minutes. When he was done cleaning up he presented the bill it was for 320.00. No hydro jet, no camera just snake. When I asked why so much he said he had to charge that and to call office for a reduction if I thought it was warranted. I think 600.00 per hour is reason for a major reduction but when I called office management refused to talk to me and rude lady that answered the phone hung up on me. Great customer service. Beware!!!! After reading my review management decided they now wanted to talk to me. They offered to reduce my charge by 120.00 if I removed the review, I declined the public needs to know. One thing I would like to add, I was rude to the receptionist after she refused to management on the phone and I was wrong for that. read more
