I searched and searched somewhere I can take my GLA 250 Mercedes other than dealership and the high cost of maintenance. After several places and reading all reviews, it came down to this place, Beach Benz. It was further than I wanted but for good service I did not mind. It started off good. Was happy of the fraction of the cost for an A and B service. Shortly after my first visit I made an appointment for maintenance 50,000 service which is changing spark plugs. Price was right just below $400 about 1/3 less what dealership would have charged. The week I got it back from this service I noticed loss of power in my car and the engine light came on. I called right away and of course they wanted me to go back in. It was showing a misfire in one of the plugs. They replaced one wire at no charge. I went about my way. Few weeks later I drove 300 miles, my thermostat went out! (Cost of repair $2,000, tow service $900) Now I am not saying they did something to the sensor while doing the spark plugs but my car had 50,000 miles on it. It's a Mercedes... was it a coincidence, I'll never know. A few weeks after that I had to go to apple valley which is approximately an hours drive from Orange County. Going up and down Cajon pass my engine light came on again! I called Beach Benz and I went in. They said they couldn't tell what it was detecting and that they would need to evaluate the car when it's cold. I also told them the power is no longer there, they said they would look into it. I made arrangements with my daughter to help me with this as I need my car daily. I dropped my car off Sonday night and waited and waited and waited. I finally called them Monday at 3pm asking what's going on with my car and that I would need it for the following day. The lady that works there, which is the owners wife said she would call me back in 5 min. An hour later I CALLED BACK. She said she would prefer not to tell me because her husband said it's a big job and he would explain and that I can pick up my car and Mike, the owner would call me in the morning! Wth??? Really, wait till morning to hear what's going on with my car?! Well at this point I said fine, I needed my car back. Well 5 weeks later and I STILL HAVE NOT RECIEVED A CALL FROM MIKE OR ANYONE! I ended up trading in my GLA for something bigger and with no worries that it would leave me stranded in the dessert again. I am so disappointed in my decision to go to Beach Benz. I should have stuck to the dealership, I would still have my GLA that I LOVED. Please be wise of your decisions if you still go here. I will say they are nice people but nice doesn't make it easier. We heard a loud rattling sound coming out of our right rear tire- a neighbor highly recommended Beach Benz... got to the shop and they immediately test drove the car to diagnose. Put it up on the lift and found a metal piece that was hanging from the axle. They took it off and advised the car was safe to drive- no issues at all! I went to pay them for their work- they didn't even charge me for their time to diagnose or remove the metal piece! I wanted to pay them but they insisted it was no problem. My check engine light came on so I took my Mercedes here and was told I had a vacuum leak in my intake manifold. The repair was estimated at $1200. I authorized the repair but asked for the old part to be returned to me. I have had 4 mechanics at other shops look at my old intake manifold and NONE of them could find anything wrong with my old manifold. They have all told me there was no reason for Beach Benz to replace my part and that I had been cheated. I am a 50 something female and seems they took advantage of my trust. Very disappointing. This place is legit. They are very fair with their prices and the service is top notch. I took my CLS AMG there for some repairs the cost was about haft the dealer and they even fixed a motor mount that looked questionable for free since it was not on the original quote. Now here is the crazy part. After getting my service done there my car broke down and wouldnt go in gear. I was panicked!!! I called Beach Benz and they said to have AAA tow it down. When it got there turned out a small plastic clip broke in my gear shift. Mind you they didnt even work on my tranny but they still fixed it for FREE.
