Only leaving a review here for the sake of the next person that thinks to spend their money at Sterlings. Showed up at 6:30 on a Saturday and there were barely any customers. There would have been crickets chirping but with the staff in the kitchen clanking things around earplugs are advised. The menu has too much going on, appears like they tried to make the theme a mixture of fine dining, and hole in the wall cafe so chef's must be overwhelmed cause the food was disappointing. My husband, parents, and I have been coming here for breakfast a couple of times per month for the last 2 years. Typically we enjoy a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere. Over the past 6 months, we've noticed a serious decline in both service & food quality. Today was especially interesting~ Upon being seated we were served cold coffee. No big deal, the server took it away and brought fresh coffee. After ordering, we waited at least 30 minutes for our food. Mind you, we were the 2nd table when we were seated- the restaurant was virtually empty. During our wait, every other table that was seated ordered and received their food. At one point, I observed our server in another part of the restaurant playing with one of the hostesses personal children. He continues to do this for a good 15 minutes until he realizes our food is ready. When we left, my husband and I both agreed that we'll be finding a new breakfast place! #deuces read more

Well, when we arrived we were the only customers besides one other couple at the table next to us. After seated, our waitress took a very long time to come back to us and take our order. The waitstaff was then switched and our new waiter was fine. I got the soup and salad bar and it was quite disappointing, especially for $14. The vegetables were floppy and old, the Mac salad and others had an old crusty top on them from sitting so long and the soup was SO bland. I don't think we will visit again. We are frequent customers to the Queensgate Sterlings. My husband and I are frequent diners on the weekends and he also uses Sterlings as a business meeting location. He and clients have always been happy with their meals. Overall, the food is always on point and thoroughly enjoyed. That said, on Dec 16, 2019, we met with local and out of town family members for dinner. Monday night, slow night, quiet. There were 7 of us. 4 out of 7 ordered a crab dish - no crab available. Disappointed groans ensued. We picked different entrees and waited and waited and waited. Finally food arrives. One brother ordered fillet mignon Med Rare - it came Medium. Sister-in-laws Chicken Sandwich was overcooked and dry, no condiment whatsoever on her sandwich. She had to ask 3 x for tartar sauce for her fries. Asked for mayo for sandwich, but never rcvd any. My mom's cod was dry, My husband also uses Sterlings as a business meeting location and clients have always been happy with their meals. One brother ordered medium rare fillet mignon. It came medium. His baked potato was under cooked. His wife ordered the chicken sandwich. Dry and overcooked. She asked for mayo and tartar 3 x, finally receiving tartar, but not the mayo. Mom ordered fillet of cod - it was dry and inedible. Her mashed potatoes had hard chunks of potato in them. Another brother had shrimp and chips, said it was just ok. His wife's fish combo was terrible. Dry cod, soggy crab cake and her baked potato hard. I ordered fillet, cooked med rare. It arrived well done. My baked potato was hard on one side. On a brighter note, our labs thoroughly enjoyed the dry chicken sandwich and over cooked fillet mignon. Expensive dog food! Haven't been back since, which for us is highly unusual. read more

My wife loves sea food and got to have eggs Benedict with smoked salmon... not to mention asparagus!! You've gotta be kidding! They seriously go above and beyond! Our waitress had the whole menu memorized and constantly checked in on us! One thing I really loved was the kids menu, the view, the booth seating option, the option of an all you can eat salad or soup bar... not to mention they even played 90's pop occasionally! Also, i had just concluded a 7 day fast and didn't have one bit of gut irritation... that's seriously how fresh the food was! Also, their fruit plate is irresistible! If you want a good place to enjoy 60 options all night long for breakfast omelets... this is the place for you! Tv's with subtitles and a very present manager! FIRST let me say, majority of the servers & hostesses are great at STERLINGS Queensgate! They are attentive, kind and cheerful. In fact, we routinely tip out for our dining experience at 25-30%. My husband & I enjoy going out for a well cooked meal. During COVID we supported the various local restaurants with p/up-to go orders. We felt we were doing our part to help local businesses. STERLINGS is one of the establishments we would routinely order from. From time to time, not often, our order was not right and the manager would make it right. On 8/9/2021, Monday night (6:00ish) we went to dine in at Sterlings@Queensgate. My husband and I, ordered from the LIGHTER BITES portion of the menu. I ordered the ($15.99) Salmon w/bake potato and the additional 'one time salad bar' option ($6.99).... A total of $23.00 plus tax. Our sweet server noticed I had barely touched the salmon on my plate. However, I did eat 2/3rds of the bake potato and salad.! She asked, " is everything ok?" I explained the salmon had a "bitter" aftertaste and I was hesitant to eat it, for fear of a potential upset stomach. She said she'd take it up with the manager at the time to see what could be done.... On her return, we were informed he would take off $4.00 from a $65+ ticket! REALLY?!? $4.00? The Salmon, the main entree of my meal was not edible. Apparently the Manager, Nate felt that his was a fair response to a poor experience. Nate gets a 1star for poor Customer Service & Hospitality. We were excited with their menu online and decided to give it a try. We ordered a omelette that came with a biscuit and hashbrowns. The omelette inside had uncooked ingredients including spinach, raw tomato and unmelted goat cheese with no seasoning, pretty awful. The biscuit was chewy and rock hard in certain places. First thing, We have been coming to Sterlings Restaurant for years. Food is good and always prepared to my satisfaction. We went on Friday for two burgers and two sodas. I about fell over when I got the bill. 52 dollars with tip......for two burgers??? Sorry, no way are we returning. I don't make that kind of money. read more

Sterling's has its pros and cons like all restaurants. It's one of those restaurants you really hope you like so you can be a frequent customer but it just didn't work out that way. We've gone there three times and each time we've left feeling "meh". The food ranges from good (loaded potato and salad) to not so good (salty smoked salmon anything). I've had their Alaskan Benedict (smoked salmon), fettuccine alfredo with smoked salmon, garlic shrimp and pasta and spaghetti and meatballs and more. All of those dishes are super salty. It's really hard for me to enjoy it when I have to gulp tons of water after each bite. The customer service for the most part is good. Depending on the time of day you arrive, it'll be great to decent due to the number of customers. The servers have always been friendly hence why I upped it to 3 stars. But there just isn't anything on the menu that's compelling me to return anytime soon. read more

Ok stopped by last night for dinner, I have to say that the restaurant is nicely decorated with the lighting, The vacs in customer view is a little concerning. i ordered the salad and soup bottomless bar and the salad bar is properly stocked with a wide variety of soup choices. They claim that everything is made on site, The chicken noodle soup was basically a glorified Progresso soup. My partner in crime ordered their version of the surf and turf, which comes with 7 oz steak and a lobster tail. She ordered it medium and the steak came out well done. This is unacceptable in my eye after eating at places like Ruth's Chris/ Capital grill/ Mortons steakhouses. Well, this location is better than the one in Kennewick. That's about the best I can say about it. The soups on the salad bar were acceptable. Unfortunately the items on the salad bar were badly stocked. They were out of a few of my favorite salad bar items. The boyfriend had a burger. The fries were good. Really good actually. They saved this place from a one star. The burger was done wrong. He asked for it plain. It came out with everything on it. He also asked for 2 patties, it came out with one. One that he says was incredibly overcooked. He's not usually picky about that so it musty have been especially bad. I had a seafood plate. It was ok. Everything on it was deep fried. It's hard to do that wrong. As far as service goes, it blows. It was quite some time before our order was taken. We didn't get our waters filed initially until we asked. Food took a while to come out. And his was wrong. Our waters went basically unfilled and we were ignored. When someone did come fill the water, he spilled some on the table. Not just a drop, a full on spill. The server ignored it, didn't clean it up, didn't leave us with anything to clean it up. Overall, a most unpleasant experience due mostly to poor service. There is a sign on every table that states the owner pays all the staff minimum wage, and they expect the patrons to add an extra tip to the cooks! This is ridiculous! Well...the first word in their tag line is steak....but we were quite surprised at what we got...our rib eye looked like a flank steak, which we did not finish, but hoped our dogs would eat. We also ordered baby back ribs; they were good. Our "loaded" baked potatoes had no butter or sour cream but were charged for an upgrade?? I suppose I was expecting something a bit more upscale from a restuarant touting to be a steak and seafood spot. Our server was friendly but was smaking her gum as she was explaining the menu. My only star goes to the cook in the kitchen Sunday afternoon. Our server was kind but didn't give us silverware, drinks, or bring out our food. In fact, we were the only table in the restaurant and while she was setting tables we had to the host walking by for to go boxes. The salad bar looked awful! Sterlings at the George Washington Way & Kennewick locations are great. This location, the service is quite poor. Flagging down for water/coffee is difficult. Ordered eggs Benedict & I usually don't send plates back but the egg was basically hard boiled on both eggs, on both my plate & my mates. They did fix it pretty promptly but then put what seemed to be a plate flooded with holindase sauce. Couldn't taste the egg or meat & the English muffin was soggy at this point. Asked for crispy hashbrowns & they were crispy like I asked so that was good but were barely warm by the time we got to eat them. The first time I went in was before this whole COVID hit and I had seen a roach literally run across the room. I was so glad I had already payed because I got up and left. The second time I was basically dragged there by my date. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt I tried to enjoy my meal but the food literally tasted like I could've done it at home and even better. Being an out of towner can have it's disadvantages but thanks to Yelp finding dinner is a whole lot easier these days. We were a party of 8 and wanted to eat some good ole fashion American food, steaks, burgers etc... so yelp lead us to Sterling's and it suited us just fine. We were seated pretty quickly for as large as party as we had and our server was pretty attentive. The decor and lighting inside was a little dark and I had to wipe my kiddos high chair down as the second one wasn't any better than the 1st. (pet peeve) Our foot came out promptly after ordering and it all looked good, nothing spectacular. My husband went with a steak and lobster dish and added another lobster after the fact which caused a little billing issue but was resolved quickly. I had the crab cakes and shrimp and the again is good but nothing over the top, basic pre-made seafood. The kiddos ordered some burgers that looked pretty good, I probably should have opted on the burger. Overall the place worked out well, no complaints but definately nothing to rave about unfortunately. read more
