The famous desserts here once inspired me to devise an email subject header entitled Their A&R Man Said I Don't Hear a Swingle, but the truth is I don't recall if I've gotten one of these as I prefer the purity of the outstanding regular pie. Bad planning and weather meant absurdly late breakfast on Saturday so I was stunned to find they have tamales here. I enjoyed the chicken with red sauce.

Delicious desert, we got original small pies, frozen dark chocolate covered and (my favorite) frozen white chocolate raspberry covered. Dark chocolate cover itself didn't taste too good, and both frozen were messy to eat. Key lime filling was tart, creamy and refreshing. Great location by the water, limited outdoor sitting area that frees up frequently and pier to walk around near by. Line was long and ended up being a bit of wait, priced on the higher end, overall definitely worth trying.

As a key lime pie lover this hit the spot! In addition to classic key lime, they have other variations like raspberry and even a spicy chipotle one. We went with the classic swingle which was delicious and exactly what you'd expect. The dipped chocolate is a great elevation to already delicious pie. The perfect sweet treat!

Key lime pie was very delicious. Not too sweet. However it could've been more tart. The keys still has the best key lime pie. The vegan carrot tamale was absolutely delicious. Loved the flavor a lot. Line was pretty long on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

I took the ferry from FiDi and came to Red Hook with a friend. I came to go to a candle making class at Apotheke. After the class, as we waited for our candles to set, we took a walk and ended at Steve's Key Lime Pie. We both had The Original, on a stick. SOOOOO YUMMY! The pie was dipped in really good chocolate!!! We walked around, took in the view, and checked out the brewery next door and Compound Art & Sound Gallery.

Well, well, well. I came here after I officiated a wedding at The Liberty Warehouse. I waited on a line but let me tell you it was worth it. I order one frozen 10 inch key lime pie and one 10 non frozen key lime pie. The price was right and let me say it was the best key lime pie I had ever had. The key limes were fresh and the homemade pie was perfect. I saw a lot of people order the chocolate covered key lime pie stick. I was thinking about it as I waited in line. I can see it that sweet and tart taste, but I am more of a traditional guy. They accept cash or credit card. Go check them and order some key lime pies. You will not be disappointed.

The small key lime tarts were so good yesterday ! I usually get the pie but these little tarts are just as delicious. The filling has just the right amount of lime flavor with a little bit of zest. The crust is so much better than anything you can buy at local retail stores. The people working here are very friendly and kind too.

I had the Raspberry Swingle and while really good, I didn't get much of the key lime taste as the raspberry and chocolate overpowered the taste!

I was so excited to go here! And even more thrilled when I tasted the tart. The place is adorable with a pick up window. All 3 of us had the tarts. And since it was a cold day, my friend ordered a coffee too. You MUST go here! Even if it's a drive to get here-- worth it!

So mediocre! I'm confused how this place is famous! I would not get it again! The key lime pie did not have ANY lime flavor and left me feeling disappointed. I did enjoy the graham cracker crust which was tasty but overpowered each bite. We also got a chocolate dipped frozen raspberry key lime pie on a stick. It was refreshing on a hot day but again, there was no key lime pie flavoring. It tasted like a chocolate covered raspberry. The personal sided pie was $6.50 and the frozen chocolate one of a stick was $9. The line was about 10 people deep when I joined it and took about 10 min. There was only one person working behind the counter. They have picnic tables outside to eat at or you can walk over to the park and sit on a bench to enjoy your treat. No restrooms were available for customers.

Rating: 7.5/10 Date Last Visited: 9/6/2025 We ordered the Raspberry Chocolate Swingle ($9.50) and La Victoria Swingle ($9.50). The swingles are individual servings of key lime pie dipped and coated in chocolate. The raspberry swingle was delicious - there was a good balance between the raspberry jam and key lime pie plus chocolate. It tasted exactly like what you would expect a chocolate dipped key lime pie to taste like. The La Victoria had a spicy kick to it, and I personally was not a fan. It's takeout only but the surrounding area has nice views. Overall, if you're a fan of key lime pie and chocolate, this place is worth a visit.

I went to Red Hook Tavern twice since I needed to try the key lime pies at Steve's. The first time I went, I didn't realize that Steve's closed at 7pm, but we made sure not to make the same mistake twice. The key lime pies are all amazing, and the seasonal fruit flavored ones are even better! The crust is perfectly crumbly and the filling is tangy and sweet. I wish they had a regular frozen version without the chocolate coating since it is a bit too sweet, but the serving sizes are just right. If I had a car or if it wasn't so humid, I'd buy a full pie to go.

Steve's key lime pie is some of the best I've ever had! The shop is a walk-up with no indoor seating, so keep that in mind if you visit during the winter. You'll have to enjoy your pie outside, but there are plenty of benches available. The service was quick and easy, and I'd definitely come back in the summer to enjoy it in warmer weather. Still, it was well worth braving the cold!

Cute sign that directs people to the shop.

The pies were the best I have ever had. I had the original and mini pie on a stick that has a raspberry layer and then dipped in chocolate.

I'm wondering if this business is still open? Even if only for curbside pickup? No reviews since March 15th and the website is down, I'm worried they didn't survive this crisis :-( I would love to know if they are still operating!?

I went by about a month ago and they had just closed, siting they would open again after the city opened up a bit more. Send them an email, I might do the same.

I had no problem finding parking. They had a few people ordering at the front, and a few people eating in the back. I perused the available cake (and pie) slices and other smaller baked goods, but did not see the Blackout Cake Slice! When I asked the staff, they regretfully informed me that they did not have slices that day, so I went with the next best option... an 8" cake! I didn't get any writing on the cake, as I already had a Happy Birthday candle, and I didn't want to add extra icing to the cake. I liked how well they package the cake. The box was large enough, and they line the bag with a thin piece of cardboard to stabilize the box. I'm not a big sweets person, but I enjoyed the chocolate-y richness of the cake. The cake itself was moist and the pudding held everything together well. I would be back to try their Strawberry Shortcake and other desserts.

It is so clear that they use incredibly high-quality ingredients and carefully curate each component, which is exactly why everything comes together in such an elevated way. The tomatoes reminded me of the ones I grew in my garden during California summers as a teenager. Perfectly salted, layered over soft, not-too-tart feta. The focaccia was made with beautiful olive oil and, while a bit chewier than I usually prefer, gave the sandwich a satisfying bite. I had to close my eyes while eating it just to savor it. The chocolate cherry almond croissant... wow. Such a creative combination, and it did not disappoint. Soft, buttery, and filled with a sour cherry compote that reminded me of a cherry cordial from a box of chocolates. 5/5. Hainsley, who helped me, was exceptionally lovely. It was filled with rich, decadent chocolate and a layer of jelly that balanced everything out without making it overly sweet. My significant other hasn't stopped talking about it since!
