It came without cheese (despite the menu saying it came with lettuce, tomato, and cheese) and it was also burnt to a crisp. I really like this place but came here today and they forgot about my order. After 25 minutes (knowing this place is busy at this time), I asked about whether or not they had forgotten about me. They reprinted my ticket and put it at the end. When asked if they would expedite it because of the mistake, they said no and that I had to wait. This is not the first time we have had bad service here so I am posting a negative review in hopes they can turn it around. I was excited to try this place, but unfortunately it ended in disappointment. I was the only person in line and was ignored for the first 5 minutes. After placing my order I waited another 12 minutes for my two bagels (only 3 other customers in the place and several people working). As I sat and waited for my food, I noticed the cashier take money from a customer with gloves on...seconds later, with the same gloves, the cashier handled the bagels. Total turn off. I won't be back. As for the bagels they were fine...nothing amazing. The cream cheese was excellent. There are several better places in the area. We called in an order of a dozen egg bagels yesterday. The woman took our order and said it would be ready today at 8am. We arrived around 11:30am. The cashier took our money and said our order "would be right out." We then waited 30 minutes with no explanation provided. After 30 minutes we were told the order had never been taken and they were lucky they had enough dough to make the bagels. My issue is if they knew they did not have the order ready it would have been nice to let us know. We could have not been waiting around for 30 minutes. And readers be forewarned, just order your big orders at the Center road location. With all of this being said, the lady was polite and did make the bagels so thank you for that. read more

People that work there are have no customer service. There is always a long wait, things are supposed to be done in a timely manner and there is always a long wait. This location had a very expanded Sandwich & Signature Sandwich menu including Smoke Turkey Cranberry Sandwich to The Empire Bomb which is marinated grilled steak with sautéed peppers & onions and melted cheese on a grinder! An absolute shit show......EVERY.TIME This place is notoriously SLOW!!!!! The food ain't bad but the service is abysmal. This Mr.Steve guy should be embarrassed to own these restaurants. The one near Vernon is actually worse... I always say to myself don't go there, don't go there they are so slow. The place is always empty when I go and they always take at least 30 min to make your order. Today I met my wife for lunch. Ordered at 1220 her sandwich was done at 1240 sitting on the counter. She got it and it was cold not toasted like she ordered. Being pregnant you can't eat deli meats unless it's heated. So that was a waste of money. Second sandwich was a simple bacon egg cheese extra bacon on a bagel. I was a breakfast cook for 20 years and it takes literally 2 min to make a fresh egg sandwich. If the cook wasn't busy looking at his phone he could move quicker. Got my food 20 min later ( surprise surprise no extra bacon and was charged for it)!!!! On a timed lunch break, it was impossible to eat there. Got up and asked for a refund. There were two people next to us that ordered after us and were waiting just as long. When we left they yell out their window to us "NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!" Stay away this place blows. read more

I always look forward to the weekend. After a long week of work, it it sheer bliss to have time that solely belongs to you. The first thing I often do is to pay a visit to Steve's Bagels on West Center St. in Manchester. Getting there early, however, is a must. The shop is always popular with the early crowd. It is apparent that I am also not the only one that enjoys fresh Steve's Bagels. The store carries many different types and flavor of bagels - all of them superb. Indeed, the bagels at Steve's clearly can compete with the bagels I buy in New York City, the mecca of fine bagels. And I am a New Yorker!!! Sometimes I carry Steve's Bagels with me to NYC. But, in addition to the fine bagels, the employees at Steve's Bagels are wonderful and keep me returning.. They truly are friendly and makes each customer feel special. How is this place earning 5 star reviews? Pretty much a joke of a business. On weekends, workers leave the phone off the hook and online ordering inactive. Finally get an answer on the phone? Put you on hold for 10+ min then hang up on you. Think they are busy? Barely. We go in person and see half the place empty. What happens when you order in person? Youll wait 20min for an egg sandwich thatll be unreal sloppy. Workers look miserable as well. Prices are way too high for a place that doesnt have the professionalism or quality to back it. Weve given this place multiple shots at redemption because im so hopeful for a better experience...and its literally the same exact thing everytime! Youre better off at Dunkin...and that says a lot! Would have to agree with the majority of the reviews so far. Really good bagels, extensive menu, generous with the cream cheese, HOWEVER service is a huge hit or miss. You are likely to have a better attitude after waiting 20 min for your bagel than any of the staff had on their arrival. I don't think I've ever gotten a smile in return. Service is slow. Doesn't matter if you've called ahead. Granted, they do seem to be popular and quite busy but the efficiency is not there. I go to Steve's when I have no commitments and can afford the wait time it takes to turn around 1-2 toasted bagels. The variety and quality of the bagels is what gets me going back. read more

I've gone there twice, bagels or great flavor crispy on the outside soft on the inside. The only problem is that the food is greasy. I wanted to give them a second chance on the second order and it still was greasy. I won't be going back simply because of the grease but if you want to get a bagel with some cream cheese cause they have great varieties I recommend that you do that but don't get any breakfast items. I have not tried there for lunch. They do have quite a menu, but I don't think that I would be going back there anytime soon just because of the experience with breakfast. read more

let me start by saying that I went there because I had a great experience the first time I went. I expected a great second experience. BUT that was not the case. first of all, there were no prices on the menu. so I was very surprised when I ordered two sandwiches which each had one egg, bacon and cheese. it cost almost $21. I asked for one on a croissant and one on a hard roll. after a lengthy wait my name was called. I took my bag and drove away. This location has just opened a few months ago and I've heard great things (also a few caveats). Just ran in for a few bagels to bring home to the fam. The selection was still pretty good by noon on a Saturday; went with some cinnamon raisin, pepper jack and cheddar. Grabbed a 1/4 of plain cream cheese for $2 which I thought was a good deal unlike other bagel places where it feels like highway robbery to get a side. Grabbed two m&m chocolate chip cookies as well. Everything was delicious and also I have to say, unique! The cinnamon raisin had this little bit of "candied" flavor just really good and unlike any other I've ever had. The pepper jack had this yummy spicy smear going on. Made a sandwich with that and it came out really well. The cookies were slightly soft baked and I would recommend. Friends had warned me to check my order before leaving (they'd had mistakes/items missing before) but it was no issue, all my items were there, granted I did not order anything beyond the bagels really. Having seen the menu I'll be back to try one of their sandwiches/soups for sure. Overall, the bagel consistency was fluffier than any other bagel place I've had, while it was still filling and although substantial, not chewy. Highly recommended! read more

Coffee is kinda more like brown sadness water, but I can overlook that at a bagel shop. I wasn't feeling like a bagel so I opted for a ham, egg and cheese croissant. This sandwich had potential, I could barely taste it, but it was there. What went wrong? They grilled the croissant in a very salty, buttery substance...no warning. Got back to the office and realized I purchased a salt lick instead of a delicious sandwich. I will remember to ask for my croissant plain next time and skip the brew. read more

DELICIOUS!!! I decided to stop in there today for some take out. I pass by this place every day on 83 and have never tried it, but I was in the mood for something new and also wanted to support a local business. The restaurant itself is very homey feeling. I was greeted the moment I walked through the door which was nice considering there were quite a few other customers in there as well. When I placed my order, their service was quick and they addressed me by name when they had a question about my order, and then brought my to go bag right out to me. It took me a while to decide what I wanted because there were so many options and the whole menu sounded appetizing! I finally chose to go with the chicken salad with lettuce, tomato (added onion) on a toasted everything bagel. SO GOOD!!! It came with a small bag of chips and a large pickle. My son absolutely loves the jalapeño cheddar bagel breakfast sandwich from Steves Bagel and I know it's usually busy on Sunday mornings, so I typically call the order in. This morning I tried calling in, was put on hold for 21 minutes, then got hung up on. I tried calling back and was hung up on a second time. After that I called three more times and couldn't get through. I certainly understand that it's busy but it's completely disrespectful to customers to waste their time.
