The girl with glasses in the first picture was ignoring everyone in line and when I would try to order she would say I'll be with you in a second then continue to ignore. I love this place... The sandwiches are fresh they slice their meets just like a deli, bagels are also made fresh every morning there different then your average coffee shop, more like a bakery! The Tuna, Chicken and Egg Salad are made by them in house. The Manager Sherri interacts with the customers very friendly environment with most of the Staff. The owners are contactable if needed open to customer suggestions. It's just a nice Mom and Pop establishment you don't see many that put the consumer first! read more

Giving this two stars just out of respect for the other location. This location is not up to par at all and I'm very disappointed at the service and even the cooks. The management in this one really needs to get themselves together and work on shortening the wait times. I never had any issues in the previous location but this location has made my order wrong several times and each time, I had to wait over 20 minutes to get my *wrong* order. Also, management needs to quit talking to employees about their hours while there is a long line...can't that wait until rush hour has quieted down, maybe? Even the workers chat instead of doing work which normally I don't mind but each time thats happened, there has been a rush and I just wish they'd focus more on working fast rather than being distracted. I know this does not represent Steve and the original store so I hope some changes can be made. read more

This place is great. Ignore the reviews about service they only opened recently and people are impatient. I get the old fashioned bagel with lox and it's really good. Lots of lox and the bagels are great. Not the best I've had but they make really good bagel sandwiches. Go before lunch or for an early lunch because they'll run out of things after noon time sometimes. read more

Gone here a few times. Each time the wait was at least 15 minutes. Today i decided to call ahead and was put on hold for over 10 minutes. I was tempted to drive there and a stand tell them i was still on hold. Stopped at Better Bagals and got my bagel with cream cheese in less than 5 minutes. The bagels and egg sandwiches are outstanding. The servers are very friendly. There just aren't enough counter and cook help. It's takes way, way, way too long for and order to be prepared. I've been to this place twice and both times ordered a Sesame seed bagel with cream cheese and lox. Not even toasted. The first time they lost my order and the second time I waited 20 minutes to get it and the only reason I did is because I said something to the cashier. The bagels are amazing but not 20 minutes amazing when the place only has 5 customers- 3 who came after me and left before me. I also mentioned something to the cashier. Tall woman with glasses and all she says was "well, sorry you had to wait". If it was sincere that would be one thing but it was clear she couldn't be bothered. I can only imagine the experience on a busy day. If you're craving a bagel and have the time you should go; but if your busy and just want to grab something quick.. this isn't the place. They have unique breakfast sandwiches that are amazing. They can get messy, but that's what you should expect if you get an over easy egg on it, otherwise you can cook your eggs to order. read more

I've passed by here all the time and today I decided to try it out. Man, was I disappointed. I ordered a Hungry Husband grinder and a turkey bagel sandwich. This order was to dine in. We waited 20 minutes for a grinder and bagel to come out. this was 11:30am and there was no one in line. There are 4 staff people. I paid $19.03 for 2 sandwiches and no drinks. I should have went to D'Angleos down the street and paid $16 for the same thing (with drinks). At one point, we thought they had forgotten our order, so we told one of the staff. They promptly came back with our sandwiches. They explained that everything is cooked and "made fresh" so the wait times will vary. Not a good "sales" tactic if you want people to return. After wasting 25 minutes of my time, the sandwich was "meh". It was OK. Nothing spectacular and definitely, not worth the wait. With so many options of equal food places, I doubt I will return. It was expensive and not worth the 25 minute minute wait...especially, when it took only 6 minutes to eat. read more

Customer service is horrible here! 1/19 0800 i was here, placed my order and waited 10 minutes for two bagels toasted with cream cheese. One of the bagels was so hard and overly toasted it was disgusting. But that was not the issue, right after I placed my order, a gentleman came in and asked if I had ordered already, after I replied that I did, he positioned himself right in front of the counter in plain view of the 4 staff members working there. It looked as if the short order cook was training a new kid, and yelling about the lack of communication on the tickets... another lady walked right up to the counter and answered the phone right in front of the guy waiting. She took the phone order and walked away, never acknowledging the man waiting. Meanwhile 3 more patrons come in and are all now are waiting and not being addressed or even welcomed. The one who took my order finally finished and handed me the bag, and moved on to the next customer. I guess being in a retail environment myself, I just expected more, but after reading the other reviews I'm not alone. Two words for Steve... Do Better! read more

First time in this establishment, ordered a hot rueben sandwich. Took 35 minutes for sandwich to come out and when I bit into it the sandwich was I cold. Took the sandwich back to the counter and told the girl it was cold and she said it wasn't. I had to remind her that I was the one that bit into it. They took the sandwich back and I thought I would be getting a fresh one, however 20 minutes later I got my origin sandwich back. At lest it was warm this time. All in all it took almonds a hour to get a sandwich in a restaurant that wasn't really that busy. Poor service and only so so food. For the time I waited I could have driven in NYC a half hour longer and had a real deli sandwich. Not worth giving a section chance unless they can get their act together read more

My wife and I went to Steve's when it first opened. Kid on the morning grill would only cook one order at a time. We were third to order. It took forever to get two breakfast sandwiches. In addition, they were not right, certain ingredients were left out and the type of bread was wrong. We figured, ok, new crew, we will try again in a few months. Went today, three months later, same kid on the morning grill cooking one order at a time. We were fourth to order. Wait time was rediculous, and yes, the order was messed up again. On top of all this the restaurant has an odor to it. Very unpleasant to eat there. We won't be going back!! read more

I went here on a Friday morning, wasnt that busy and they still got my order wrong. I asked for two bagels with butter and lox cream cheese on the side. Instead I got to bagels with butter on the wrong bagel and plain cream cheese on the other wrong bagel. These were supposed to be saved for another day but we're ruined due to sogginess and the bagel with the cream cheese was sitting out all day and not in the fridge due to the fact I assumed they didn't put anything on it like I asked. AND not to mention I ordered a sausage egg and cheese sandwich and they put it in this plastic container. A WASTE OF PLASTIC!! Wrap the sandwiches in foil, dont waste plastic for something so small. Run fast and far from this place (11 Tolland Tpke, Manchester/Vernon line). People were waiting 10-15 minutes for their orders; way too long for a bagel place. I ordered the Hungry Major bagel sandwich and I waited, and waited, and waited. Other people after me were getting their orders. The girl who took my order asked me twice if I was "good" I told her, still waiting for my order. Finally a woman at the back table asked me what I ordered. She checked; it was never submitted! She said "sorry" and put the order in. I waited again for my order, and she said again "sorry" not "this is for free for your troubles." Not an offer of a free drink or dessert, not a coupon, nothing. Very bad business. I take my sandwich , walk to my car(less than 60 seconds after receiving it) and open it to eat it. It was a sloppy, soggy, unmanageable mess. Couldn't even begin to pick it up to eat; it was as though they had run it under water; it was that soggy. Just gross. Worst bagel place I have ever been to. Ever. Don't know how they stay in business. I would give it negative 5 stars if I could. read more
