I have mostly ordered takeout- ordering onions is like an entire onion on the pizza but it is SO good with the delicious sauce oozing through the cheese and the sweet taste of the onion. I've heard a lot of hype about Steve's pizza being the absolute GOAT in South Florida. I'm here to say... NOPE. I don't find myself in North Miami very often so being there meant i HAVE to try it. I'm normally a slice guy but since i wanted to make sure i had a fresh pie i ordered a large cheese and a dozen garlic rolls. In my humble opinion, the pie was a little undercooked leaving the crust a little chewy. I also thought the sauce was WAY too sweet. It's definitely not the worlds worst pizza but i can name 15-20 spots i prefer pizza wise over Steve's. The redeeming item was the garlic rolls. Big, fluffy and covered in oil/garlic/oregano. We were there at 11 AM and they opened ten minutes late. No free refills on soft drinks. Most flavors are sold in cans but fountain drinks have a charge for refills. Air conditioning was pleasantly cool on a warm and humid day. We noticed that seating was kind of limited, if the restaurant was busy. Garlic rolls and a large pizza were ordered. The garlic rolls came quickly and were good. (4 stars). They were swimming in oil and garlic was all over them. The pizza was good. (4 stars). Better than most pizza in Miami. It was somewhat oily but not very oily. My wife loved the crust on the pizza. We saw someone walk out with eight boxes of pizza and a few bags of other food. Recommended if you want to be ignored & treated with attitude. I used to go to Steve's pizza by Palmetto Bay and I loved it. I recommend it to my close people and since we moved to a new location I wanted to take my husband for a pizza. As soon as we get there we're ignored, not a single Hi or Welcome or nothing. I know it's not a fancy restaurant but you should be polite regardless of the situation but whatever. Both cashiers were there just talking until we asked for something as if we weren't there but whatever. Went in and got half pineapple and ham and half veggie. The pineapple half was good, as no one complained about that half and it was finished. But the veggie half was horrible. We have leftover slices and no one wants to eat them. So sad because we had to wait 25 minutes and were hoping for something good. There is literally a sign in store stating that they are the best. They should take it down! I take pride in boasting that my picture was hung on the wall in 2006 along with the thousands of other regulars who were given the privilege to pin a picture up wherever they could find space. I'm all about that curly pepperoni. There's something so satisfying in the combination of the sweet sauce with the soft yet doughy crust topped with oozing cheese and those delicious sizzling portions of pepperoni ready for you in every bite. They're open late and a slice will only run you a few bucks so it's a solid yes for me 9 out of 10 times.
