Spend four nights in Richfield, UT and stayed at the Comfort Inn next to I-70. Not a lot of interstate noise there. Saw the restaurant near the hotel and tried it out for our first meal in town. Not too crowded, had a full bar! Waitress came and greeted us and took our drink order and came back to take our meal order. Explained the food on the menu, and asked if we wanted onions and mushrooms on our meal, I said yes please (love them on ground fried steak). Wife had the chicken fried steak meal. Waitress asked if we wanted dessert, they had some tempting selections but we said no, trying to keep the calories down. Nice ambiance, good music. A little pricey but what the hell we are doing the 5 National Parks in one trip and have to keep up our strength. Richfield is a little gem and a nice town, we will be back! read more

We finally came to have dinner last night at the new Steve's Steakhouse location. We had an anniversary dinner once at the old location and it was ok, but this time, it was much much better! The food was so good, we cleaned all of our courses. We started with an appetizer, the corn bites! Oh man, they were awesome!! The salad was delicious and fresh! They have amazing Ranch dressing by the way. We had a cocktail each and they were fantastic! This was nice to have around here, most places do not serve alcohol, so this was nice, and they were very decently priced as well. I had the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes because I was so happy to hear they serve white gravy now and that is my fave! The country fried steak was made from scratch and it was so good! My husband had a perfectly well cooked New York steak, we loved it! We finished off with some delicious cheesecake with raspberry topping and it really was perfect. Our sever and the other who helped run food were so sweet and kind. I wish I knew their names. We sat right in front of the fire place setting and I was so excited because the last two times we came, which was for breakfast, we got seated there too, and we loved it, it's gonna be our spot from now on. I'm so happy with our experience. We didn't have the kids and never get to go on dates, it had been a while so we were really glad the steakhouse gave us the perfect moment. Holy cow (see what I did there). This steakhouse was no frills, but outstanding food. The wait staff was friendly and fast, with excellent recommendations. The steak tips were phenomenal. Mashed potatoes were lumpy (I like them that way) and the wedge salad was a meal in and of itself. We also got the corn bites which were unique and tasty. I only wish I had eaten here every night while I was in town. Don't be thrown off by the MASSIVE horse portrait and ceilings that are higher than Willy Nelson. Richfield doesn't have many places you can go for a great meal, maybe 2. Most people in the area also don't make an income to sustain a nice restaurant other than for special occasions. For those times or as much as you can, I recommend Steve's Steakhouse. The place was super clean. The service was great and they were hustling to be sure every table had what they needed. They serve alcohol. It's a beautiful open space. Their beef is from Iowa. I very rarely eat meat unless it's from my family. It was a beautiful 6 oz. Filet done exactly as ordered! NOT EASY TO DO. Not burnt but no blood on the plate. We also had chopped steak, asparagus, baked sweet potatoes, pickled beets, salad, a beer, German chocolate cake and creme brulee. It totaled $110 with tip. It's an add on style menu. You get your meat with 1 side. The bathrooms were clean. There are little treasures at the register to buy like shirts and jam. I hope they stay. From the beautiful exterior, to an indoor ode to patriotic, cattle rancher, and American decor, my son and I had an incredible experience. I'd really give this place more of a 3.5 overall, as the food was good, the prompt service though they were busy and good food. If you're staying in Richfield overnight it's a great varied menu for all palettes. It almost looks fancy from the outside but it's August and everyone is casual. Nothing makes you feel more welcomed than beautiful smiles which they all had! My family started with the onion rings. They were delicious and served with a nice homemade sauce. We then ordered the 16 oz blackened trout, Southwest Salad w/grilled chicken, and the rib-eye steak. The 16 oz blackened trout was cooked to perfection! The seasoning was outstanding and the portion size was fit for 2 people or 1 huge appetite! The Southwest Salad with grilled chicken was amazing! The grilled chicken was tender, juicy, and seasoned well! The chipotle ranch dressing was so delicious! It had to have been made there at the restaurant! The salad was super fresh! I don't do a lot of reviews, but my experience was so awful. After posting this to Google they got all defensive, and then advised how perfect their food was. So it was just my table you have horrible food to. That's f'ed up friends. This morning they removed my review. It looked promising, clean, my salad was sad and covered in overly sweet dressing it was inedible. My loaded cheese fries were more like a Wendy's baconator. The 2 mojitos was a sprite and run with half a mint leaf they charged me 16 dollars. We got charged 6 dollars for three shrimp in my pasta and the noodles were either canned or sitting in water since they opened the store it was like eating glue And the cowboy beans looked like someone got sick on his plate. I'm pretty sure every bit of the food came from WalmartAbsolutely hands down the worst "steakhouse" I've ever been to. Simply delicious. The chicken tenders were hot, juicy and were crispy on the outside. The sweet potato fries were so good too. They paired well with their fry sauce which was also very yummy. I finished off with a nice slice of their chocolate cake which they paired with a scoop of ice cream and I wish I could have licked the plate clean but that would have been too much. this place was once a staple in richfield. unfortunately it has fallen to a tragic low. the ambiance is odd. it's like eating at a ranch themed event center/ riding arena. it's huge and cold and industrialish. the service, while not rude or anything, was amateurish and undertrained. when i ask a question about the food i was told to just read the menu. the food itself was remarkably reminiscent to that of a school cafeteria. Another older lady running the food was rude every time we asked her for something. I ordered a beer and it took forever to have it brought to our table. I am giving Steve's a five star review not because it is the best steak house I have ever been to, it's not, but because of its price point and because it so far exceeded my expectations. We ate at Steve's twice one the way out and back from LA. Each time the service was prompt, friendly, and just made me smile. On our return visit the server from our first swung by our table to say hi and chat for a minute. It's that kind of place. I had one meal with a blue cheese bacon burger and fries. Very much comfort food for the road and it was everything I wanted. Cooked perfectly medium rare with melted cheese and meat juices running down my hands. Another few napkins appeared without me having to ask. On the second trip I had the ribeye with potatoes. Once again perfectly prepared and at a nice price. The ambiance is a cut above cafeteria, but once I settled in with a beer and the impeccable service I felt right at home. Absolutely horrible. Busy weekend in Richfield, which is well known. There was no planning on the owners part. Food took FOREVER. Only part of a party got food and we're told 30 minutes after we ordered, we were told they were out of prime rib and Mac and cheese for the kids. It still took 20 minutes to get the kids food out after having to change the order. We went to speak with Steve and he did not apologize, did not have any solutions, just excuses. Literally our favorite place to go twice a year during wrestling tournament weekends. To be honest when we're in town we eat at Steve's 2-3 nights in a row. The food is always perfectly cooked & spot on. Plus they're willing to make things special upon request. The service staff is amazing. Always more than accommodating. Sometimes a long wait when we go as wrestlers love to eat heavy after they weigh in & also after they compete. The new locations ambience is so cute. Classic new barn look outside but huge & open inside. Local cowboy/hunter decor inside. The industrial touches are my favorite. Honestly it reminds me of my house a little. I this is a place that's is trying to be a higher end steak house that is not worth it. Both ordered steak tips which for a steak house should be easy.... One was well done, actually asked for extra well with no pink, came out with some in the medium to med well. Other was well done and they came out rare. To claim to be a steakhouse and can't cook a 1" cube of steak as ordered. Now things happen but Kara the waitress came out, "oh that's rare, sorry". She took the plate of food "I'm going to show the cook" then brought the bill. Never returned any of the food so we got to pay the full bill and they took back 1/2 the food. I got my usual stand by "the ground beef steak" with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The meat was rotten! I tried three different bites thinking it might be the way the edges were but it was not good at all! I told the waitress and she said, Oh! Didn't offer a refund or anything. We actually saw her talk to Katie about it but neither one came over to apologize or give a refund. Hit Steve's on roadtrip through town. Huge new building, excellent decor and great steak. They had a full bar which is rare in some of the towns in this part of Utah, and had great service and excellent steak. The meat was very good, and well cooked. The sides were good, but the steak was great; which is critical for a steak restaurant. Clearly mostly a locals restaurant, and was very affordable.
